Whenever I listen to the Soul Stirrers post Sam Cooke Soul Stirrers that is, I cannot help but be pained with the seemingly never-ending struggle this group encountered. They could never climb back to that perch of fame once lived and enjoyed through the rise of Sam Cooke and oftentimes spent far too much time trying to find another who could emulate Sam Cooke - but they never could come out of the "shadow" thereof. And this was the sadness I'm sure they eventually had to come to grips with.
That's where it's at. Amen.
