For those of you who can’t get out the alternator due to the AC line, use your breaker bar to push belt tensioner towards the firewall. Keep applied pressure which will give you enough room to wiggle out the alternator with one hand. This took me a while to figure out and also to get the alternator out. Do the same when reinstalling the alternator and you will have plenty of room to get it in. It took me twice as long to get it out than to get the alternator in and van running. His video is spot on with the directions. Good luck
Thank you very much. This is an excellent video. I really like how detailed you are with the steps. It’s a project I wasn’t expecting to have but I have to deal with today. This is so much simpler now.
Thank you very much for your video part to help me the most was your tip on how to get the new alternator back in place by using a washer and nut and bolt. pushing back the bushing not sure if you mentioned this can’t remember but reconnecting. The AC wire is much easier from underneath.
Test the fuse’s continuity using the ohm setting. You can remove the fuse’s 2 screws & pop it out if it’s clip. Check continuity with the fuse removed from the fuse box. It’s pretty heavy duty fuse & has a visual window for inspection if obviously blown. An ohm meter is the best test and should be one of the 1st things you do to avoid a lot of unnecessary work & cost and to make sure the problem IS the alternator. I’m guessing it’s pretty rare though that this fuse blows unless an electrical short is know to have occurred.
I have same van 2006 exl With the vcm I see your van has the vcm did you have to get a alternator with vcm? Cause I call all parts stores they say they have the one I need but it don’t say if it has vcm or not
Battery light popped up last night. Then today a bunch of lights popped up on my dash then after car would not turn back on. Went and got the battery tested and said it was bad. Got a new battery and the light is back on 😢 guessing its the alternator? Im no mechaniv and have no mechanic to help me
That's not correct. I've watched over 20 videos on '10 Odyssey at replacement and of them, only one details the push of that bushing (and that vid was for a 2011 and later Ody) and none show details of pushing on the washer fluid bottle to make that room. While the video production on this is not the best I've seen, the info just might be.

You welcome
Thanks. you are the best. Many UA-camrs don't explain the tricky parts.
You welcome 🙏
Thanks for making this video. You are a friend to us in need of help with replacing an alternator.
@@sitelocker you welcome
Easy🤣, No. But your video will help many who choose to tackle that project. Thank you, have a great week.
Happy late father's day to you

If you have a blown 120 amp fuse would this cause a new alternator to register 19 amps or Maybe higher output than expected
Thanks for your video you do great job 🥰👍🙋♂️.
Thanks 😊 🫂
Thank you for the excellent video and proper procedures to replace the alternator. What brand alternator you suggest on 2006 Odyssey?
Denso oem or just buy brand new from auto part they have lifetime warranty.
Personally, I only use Denso OE. I don’t want to replace an alternator anymore often than necessary & tge Densos are heavy duty & built to last.
What is the right voltage for this fuse if I want a Tested Whit multimeter

No
You ever have to replace the ELD in a 2010 or 2009 odyssey? The older Honda fuse boxes are easy these ones they complicated it seems...

Wait is didn't check the fuse. Where do I check it?
@joleneguerrero4794 buy cheap tool for harborfeight and watch this video you can do it.
I notice California license plates. Where are you located? I have this alternator issue! Thanks. Awesome videos! New subscriber!
Thank brother for helping subscribe

Easiest one I've seen yet I just don't understand what you were doing on that bottom alternator bolt
Thanks a bunch!
Condom over the hose, practicing "Safe Mechanic" work 😁
Was thinking same thing
awesome thanks
Fuse blew by shorted circuit inside alternator.....
Thx so much.
You welcome
Jump about 4 minutes into the video to get to actually removing the alternator.
The “easy” way
Literally the same way anyone else does it on UA-cam.
