    I had to rush to hospital yesterday for a horrible headache and my ear got so hot. The ER doctor ordered a CAT scan. I’ve never experienced anything like that before in my life. They found nothing and they said it’s a migraine. I am waiting for an appointment for an MRI at the local brain lab that my doctor ordered. I experienced childhood emotional neglect and chronic psychological abuse by a mentally ill and emotionally immature parent. My siblings verbally and emotionally abused me until adulthood. They got worse when my life became successful and I was more of myself. Since 1 year contact I have significantly accepted my family for who they are and I’m finally emotionally detaching from them. Life is a lot more manageable, calm, and to my liking since letting them go. I just find it so unfair that the abuse still lingers and haunts my body. I look forward to the day it all dissolves and dissipates. I deserve a great life. I’m a good person, generous, smart, kind, driven and creative. I am proud in having deep respect for integrity and authenticity in myself. I deserve a life worth living and to my definition.

      Migraines with hot ears in my experience have been from MSG in food. Not sure if its the cause for you, but it might be something to avoid and be aware of.

    I had hemiplegic migraines and CPTSD for about 56 years before ever discovering the CPTSD side of the story. My life has been unbelievably difficult. The only things that have kept me from giving up altogether are my faith and my incredible wife. One of the most precious things God ever shared with me is that I cannot love my wife the way He wants me to love her if I'm living in self-pity. That insight has been such a big help and keeps me from falling into the pit self-pity tries to push me into. That and Romans 8:28. I now know there is a purpose for each of our lives if we'll let God show us that purpose.

      I love this, @John. I'm so sorry you've had to struggle with this but your insight is amazing. I'll pray He reveals His purpose for you and the trauma you suffered and that He can make it work for His purpose - and also that He would relieve you of that burden soon.

    I was diagnosed with PTSD by the va. I'm a gulf war veteran. Back in 2016 I put in a claim for headache but was denied because it wasn't service connected or wasn't in my military records.

      That sucks. Thank you so much for your service and I'm sorry you aren't getting the treatment you deserve to receive. I found several studies that may help you in fighting that decision. There are multiple other studies you can site for your defense as well. I hope they help. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4715623/#:~:text=In%20general%20population%20studies%2C%2022,nonmigraine%20headache%20or%20no%20headache.

      silly question: did you apply secondary to PTSD? If so, try secondary to Tinnitus. Good Luck

    I’m so eager to talk about traumatic experiences. Feel them. Accept them and transform them. My issue is that every single time I speak of my trauma from memories. Within the following 3 days I will experience the migraine. My brothers and sisters are the same way. Why does this happen? How can I work through my traumas and stored emotions without being knocked down by a migraine? Ive tried EDMR however my therapist who practices does not recommend it for me because of housing instability, and the 24-48 hr reprocessing trigger time. Currently acupuncture has been my go to treatment. As well as energy empowerment. It helps well. But i dont ever want to have another migraine AGAIN. And i just don’t know how to come to terms with it not being realistic. (BTW no wheat, no gluten, no caffeine, no soy, no msg, no high estrogen, low dairy lifestyle)

      This results from the activation of the "fight or flight" response and the subsequent drop in catecholamine neurotransmitters that happens as you reset into "normal mode". You might talk to your doctor about ways to help support your dopamine/epinephrine/norepinephrine to help you process those emotions without such a dramatic migraine response.

    I was deployed in the middle east in 2023. I was 40 miles away when the hamas and israel war started. My family says I have been different since I been home and have severe headaches. Could that trigger PTSD?

    I have been following you for a long time. A little different question to this video. Can CGRP and specifically UBRElVY cause weight gain? Have you had a patient who keep going steady weight while on UBRELVY

    • @migrainemastery
      @migrainemastery  Рік тому

      Hi Margaret! While the official stance is that CGRPs do not cause weight gain and studies report to have found no link, there is clinical evidence that this is actually happening and many people are experiences weight changes as a side effect.

    One question related to one of your other videos about melatonin. I can't locate it now. What does it mean if you get migraine after taking a melatonin supplement? I have noticed that, first am usually groggy then it progresses overtime to migraine or headaches. I don't take it often, usually only 1 mg on nights I can not fall asleep? Any suggestions or recommendations?

    • @migrainemastery
      @migrainemastery  Рік тому

      I'd look closer at the role serotonin is playing in your migraines - specifically how your body is able to process it. If melatonin is triggering you, it sounds like perhaps you have a dysfunctional MAOA gene which may be causing issues in how your body can break down serotonin (and melatonin since they fall on the same pathway). Do triptans work for you when you have these kinds of migraines?

      I’m sorry you missed the link - this was discussed in the first 3 min of the video. Up to 66% of people with chronic migraine have experienced a traumatic event … the point being that if someone has chronic migraine, they may need to be screened and treated for PTSD to help with their migraine symptoms.
