The beginning of games where Amanda is picking who she’s gonna romance is my favorite😭
If it makes you feel better, when you defeat a monster it apparently doesn’t die but instead returns to the “forest beginnings” unharmed. But when your defense gets higher you can just let the weak monsters attack you without attacking back since it won’t hurt you at all. ALSO some of my favorite love interests arrive later in the story but Martin is also great 😊

2. Befriend all the Woolies (you can have up to 200)
3. Be bisexual

@@mohplays6428 when your defense gets higher the woolies attacks don’t hurt you at all so you can just let them wail on you while you attempt to make them your friends lol. also, they apparently just yeet back into a portal instead of actually die according to the lore

Watching this again made me realize that many of the characters have the Animal Crossing villager personality types. Priscilla is a normal, Lucy is a sisterly, Murakumo is a jock, Martin is a smug, Ryker is a lazy, and Simone is a snooty. And we have a rare female lazy villager, Priscilla's sister Elsje.

Also, a few things:
- You can tame the monsters you fight eventually when you level up (also they don’t actually die when you slay them)
- Once you gain enough friendship level with an MPC you can ask them to join your party and they can help you fight!

Super excited and happy to see you play. To give you some peace of mind, you don’t actually kill the monsters they just get sent to a place known as “the forest of beginnings”. You can tame the kitsune, but you need the item it drops and a barn. And if a character has an anime cutscene you can romance them.

Glad to see you're playing this game. It's a lot of fun. I was hesitant to bring it up in the comments of other videos because I thought you might have a problem with killing the cute monsters (fwiw, you're actually sending them back to their homes in the Forest of Beginnings, not killing them), but I thought you'd absolutely love the bachelors and bachelorettes. When I'm playing these kinds of games I only play gay, so my first playthrough was playing as Ares (the male PC) and Martin was my obsession from day one. ;)

Also something to make you feel better about beating up adorable creatures, they technically don't die in this game. All your equipment is enchanted with special magic that causes monsters to teleport back to the "Forest of Beginnings" when you beat them, which is where they come from. So really when you attack them you're just putting invasive species back where they belong.
I play rune factory games all the time and adore watching playthroughs of them but I've never been more entertained by a rune factory 5 playthrough in my life than when you met Martin.

Oh my god! This is one of the funniest videos I've ever seen so far! I was planning on maybe just watching all the cutscenes because I cannot get the game myself and decided to watch someone's playthrough and seeing this was the most, exhilarating thing I've seen in a long while! I really enjoy your humor and I don't think I've ever been as shocked and excited for possibly more episodes of this maybe a series? Rune Factory 4 was my introduction to the series when I got it for cheap at Gamestop six years ago and I absolutely adored the game and the story, so crossing my fingers that 5 is good too! All I know is they are really popular, good, Harvest Moon/Stardew Valley like with battling, and town planning(maybe? not sure now...) . So this will be my first time seeing any gameplay! Not much town planning aside from upgrades, but the rest is spot on! It's fantasy settings and unique balance of storyline and farming sim really set it apart!
