  • Visit our website for more free tutorials and jewelry-making resources! - fmg.co/m3ScFz Award winning designer Lisa Pavelka guides you as you create a crescent pair of copper earrings using a variety of metalsmithing techniques. After annealing and pickling, she'll show you how to use a disc cutter. Disc cutters let you cut perfectly round discs in up to 2mm thick metal sheets. Slide metal between the plates and, with a mallet or heavy hammer of your choice, hit once for best results. Place cutter on hard, solid surface when using. When using larger size punches on thicker gauge metal, a 1.5 lb or 2 lb hammer should be used.
