Considering Gizmo and Stripe are two different characters, it’s wild to see 5 new characters so far coming this season.

From what I remember in the movie (it's been a while), Stripe threw a few circular sawblades at Billy during the department store finale, along with shooting a crossbow bolt into Billy's arm then trying to kill him with the chainsaw before getting the pistol. So he's likely going to have a good selection of ranged attacks along with the chainsaw.

The fact that they're confirmed different characters might mean that Player 1st anticipate to struggle with the rights to other characters listed to join the roster, also to focus on WB properties. Fatten the roster & lengthen the continued releases. That can be a good thing as WB has LOTS to offer. Michigan J Frog, Goonies, Lost Boys, Matrix, The Conjuring, Buffy, Supernatural, IT, EVERYTHING CARTOON CARTOON & HANNABARBERA! Just To Name A Few. You can have your 200 character roster easy right there.

I think it was always the plan to focus on wb characters considering the additional costs to acquire 3rd party ones. They also want to promote their own brands. Stripe and Gizmo being separate have nothing to do with that. The fact is you all jumped to conclusions about them based on a numbering system you didn't fully understand and added more confidence to your assumptions because tony happened to say "gizmo stripe" really quickly when listing upcoming characters. Nothing more too it than that.

Nice that Gizmo and Stripe are separate characters, it's funny that they are getting Gizmo out first while Rick is pushed to a later date. Also, I would love to see the height comparison on Gizmo with the Iron Giant.
This game keeps getting so interesting with their characters. I wish it was on switch. Hopefully when the full game releases

Tony stated he wants the game on as many platforms as possible (so Switch is something he wants) but with getting the game launched and handling the bug fixes etc, seems right now more platforms is not priority. I'm sure it'll come eventually
One weird coincidence I found with the character release cycle is that each week when a new character comes out is also when a new episode of Death Battle comes out. This isn't me speculating anything, it's just something I wanted to point out.

All I hope is that, if we get a gremlins stage (though I don't fully know how that would work) I hope we get a remix of the gremlins theme
I would want a stage based off the hotel in Gremlins 2, with different sections for like the cooking show, the spooky place, and the lab with different stage interactions in each section.
But I could be alright with a Christmas themed bar from the first movie.

sep 19th - Rick (meant to come out)
Oct 3rd - Marvin (has more in depth files)
Oct 17th - stripe (makes sense around this area)
31st - beetle juice (Halloween what more do I need to say)
14th - black Adam (near release of film)
gremlins is like my favorite movie of all time and i thought i was lucky for one character but TWO merry christmas too me
Ngl reveals to a character have so much story and context behind them. SSB with their character travels we’re so cohesive and fit with the newcomer coming in and their aesthetic of that makes any sense. I totally get them trying to figure out their THING, and I think introducing new characters in their campy way that brings in the character would be coool
I think it’d make sense if Rick was the final character of season 1 as that might line up for a planned Rick and morty season 6 finale release day

I feel like they are really watching the community and reacting to us. I think they have a ton of fighters ready to go and when the community jumps the gun and makes assumptions they just change it. Look at what happened with Rick. He was completely in the game and Morty came first. Everyone said Rick was next and suddenly Gizmo drops. We already know they follow the community, and it really seems to me like they watch what we say/think and then just do the opposite to keep hype going.
Scooby would be a great choice for October as well!
Honestly I could see them making a story out of these reveal trailers to tie in like from Rick to Marvin

This sounds pretty good. Justin probably is busy atm because of the new R&M season and his new game comes out Dec, "High on Life". Also something I read I thought was cool. What if they were teasing jigsaw in the gizmo video because of the tricycle and saw blade!?
I wish they'd do more elaborate reveals like what Sakurai did with the Smash trailers. And the character moveset demonstrations could also stand to be a little less chaotic.
I really want beetle juice so I want him out soon but it would be really cool if he came out on Halloween

I’m happy Gizmo and Stripe are separated, my guess for why they were together in the code was either a scrapped gimmick or they play somewhat similarly and are built off of similar mechanics

In the movie, Stripe does use a chainsaw, but before that, he throws sawblades at Billy with a surprising amount of force, embedding them in the wall.

I think the character timeline you suggested doesn't make sense with what trends we've seen so far. If they're spacing out Rick and Morty I'd imagine they'll do the same to Gizmo and Stripe. Also, I'd say Beetlejuice is a better fit for Halloween than Wicked Witch since The Wizard of Oz isn't a Halloween movie. So my release schedule speculation is Gizmo, Rick, Stripe, Black Adam, Beetlejuice and then Witch and Marvin sometime after.
I'm hoping The Brain Gremlin is a variant of Stripe, the voice lines could be so much fun with him
Also I would do gizmo Rick stripe because tony said he would be worth the wait black adam witch nov 1 or oct 31 then beetle juice then Marvin the Martian for season 2 if it comes out straight after season 1
You know how simple speculation is just look up upcoming green lit films. Gizmo and Stripes were obvious cause of Gremlins film in February which was suppose to be this month. You have datamine for Beetlejuice, there is a green lit Beetlejuice reboot. There is data for Daffy and Marvin the Martian. There is a CGI Duck Dodgers movie script being made.

P.S: Gizmo is one of my most wanted characters for MultiVersus, the other 5 ones are: Kitana from Mortal Kombat, Cammy from Street Fighter, The Mask voiced by Jim Carrey, Captain Planet and Mr Pickles (the dog). What do you think about these? In yout opinion, someone of them have at least a chance to get in? Be honest.
Cammy doesn't seem likely, as WB has nothing to do with SF, so she'd be a third-party character (which isn't impossible, just a licensing hassle), but the rest all seem like possibilities. At the rate they're releasing characters, they're bound to get to them _eventually,_ right?

Yeah, people should stop using the Smash reasoning eith this game. Duo fighters are not likely since it is a 2v2 focused game and the appeal of having Finn and Jake duo vs. Superman and Iron Giant duo is the marketing point.

I think we get both gizmo and stripe on Tuesday. Gizmo during the day then he switches to stripe at night! That’s likely the unique mechanic he mentioned before when talking about a small character. If this is true this is genius.

There's no way they're not giving Gizmo his improv bow and arrow and a rambo headband skin, it's one of the most memorable Gizmo action moments.
And if ever they come back to the Gremlins franchise for more characters in the future, Spider-Stripe would be awesome.
Since Gizmo and Stripe are two different characters and we already know Stripe will be coming eventually this season, I think the release of Rick and Stripe should be switched so that Rick can promote the release of the new season further
Gizmo/Stripe sharing a character slot might be due to them sharing similar moves but not being similar. For example, if Luigi from Smash Bros. had the same character slot as Mario due to moves like NAir, Neutral Special, Up Smash, old Down Special, etc.
In a weird twist, I bet Gizmo will be better in tournaments thans Stripe.

Why do you think Wicked Witch is a more fitting Halloween drop than Beetlejuice? They’re both VERY fitting Halloween characters (and admittedly so are Black Adam and Stripe so I’m surprised they haven’t already announced some sort of Halloween event) but Beetlejuice is more directly related to Halloween, the Wicked Witch is only really Halloween related tangentially, not that I’d imply she’s not Halloween related at all
I dunno I guess the wicked witch being a classic green pointed hat witch with a broom feels incredibly Halloween to me, it’s like a top three Halloween decoration icon right there with pumpkins and skeletons

As an actual character, perhaps Beetlejuice is more fitting for Halloween but the Wicked Witch is the classic Halloween witch archetype.
Part of me is still going to coin flip between Rick and Stripe.
Not to say Stripe isn't next, but we did have that same line of thinking when Morty came out and we thought Rick was next (but then we saw how that outcome). I wouldn't mind seeing Stripe be the next character since I'm sure some players want their "pure chaos" character that Taz might not be fulfilling at the moment. As for the explanation of "waiting for Rick so there can be some lines recorded," I could see that happening too since by the time November rolls around, this current season of R&M would likely be wrapping up and also High On Life would be nearings its completion or would have Gone Gold by that time. Hopefully we'll see some lines for Rick and Morty since they do feel kind of bland for that lack of involvement that we see with literally everyone else on cast.
Either way, it will be interesting to see if they are actually going to keep up with the "two per week" releases. Would be nice to see, but it's hard to say if they will take the "Leagues of Legends" approach for the first year of Multiversus (meaning to get as many new characters in as possible to stretch out the roster as far and wide as possible).
The character announcements are so inconsistent. I like the teaser, but it would have been better to tease a character we had 0 idea is coming. The Season 1 screen was weird because we still have basically no info on Adam and Stripe. Rick has been announced for such a long time and we have 0 info on him.
5:59 actually they can. before stripe turned into a gremlin he was a mogwai but didn’t act like one. gizmo was somewhat trained to stay as a mogwai.

I don't understand why you did, and keep, putting unknown releases on Mondays instead of Tuesdays. Iron Giant, Lebron James and Morty were released on a Tuesday, Gizmo will too.
oh good point perhaps ill move those! I had just counted out two weeks a while ago and have kept the character release dates mostly the same on that image.
@@PapaGenos That also damages the Wicked Witch theory. It's thematic for her to come out on Halloween, but it doesn't make sense for her to release on November 1st. I think one of Beetlejuice or Wicked Witch is probably Season 2.

Also the dates on the mock up image aren’t hard dates, gizmo just got delayed to Thursday. So it’s an “about every two weeks” theory and so each date is a “soft” timeframe for around when these characters might show up. All hypothetical of course anyway

WB is just like that, when the game was first leaking months ago they were trying to remove any leaked images that were out there on every site they could force to remove them. I think they just aren’t used to video game leak culture. datamines imo aren’t even really leaks it’s stuff they left in the code and it’s on them to hide/scrub that stuff from the code when they release updates and such that the public can then look into.
Gonna be real, if these are the characters we can expect over the next few months it’s VERY weak. They really need to bringing out some heavy hitters sooner rather than later. Gremlins hasn’t been relevant for years and neither has Beetlejuice. How MK is not in this game is beyond me. Really, the lackluster additions are going to do the game in. F2P games needs constant content and I see these characters only being exciting to people heavily invested in the game.
