Paul Young Tribute June 17, 1947 to July 15, 2000

- A tribute video in memory of Paul Young (Mike & The Mechanics) on the 20th anniversary of his passing (July 15, 2000). Most will remember him from the song "All I Need Is a Miracle" which was the catchy tune that secured his place in the group back in 1985. The audition for that song came at a time when he and his family needed a "Miracle" of their own due to financial hardship. It provided him a ticket to a better life for them. He met his wife at age 14 and they remained married with 3 children and a grandchild at the time of his passing. This is to pay respect to the undeniable charisma and exceptional talent that was Paul Young. He loved music and the music loved him. May he rest in peace.
I have no personal connection with Paul Young or his family; just a respectful fan wanting to recognize his musical talent. No copyright infringement intended with the making of this tribute.
One of the best frontmen to be the singer in a band, Paul and Paul Carrack wow it was a great duo gone far too soon ,we have recordings to savor his great voice, RIP.
Mr. Paul young. Your voice will remain on record and in our hearts. Thank you.
🥰
From the day I first heard Every Day Hurts by Paul and Sad Cafe I knew he had a terrific voice and could really sing. So glad Mike and the Mechanics and Paul had so many hits and tours. R.I.P.
I saw Paul with Sad Cafe on three occasions. Without a doubt, he was one of the best front men ever.
R.I.P Paul Young 🎙🎵🎵🎸🎸
A giant gone too soon. This world misses you, Paul! Rest in Peace and that God may rest your soul.
So well said ❤🎶
This man had an amazing vocal range . His live version of Every day hurts , with M & M gets me every time I listen . RIP Paul .
Paul young one of the best dynamic vocalist of all times.Miss his fabulous
Vocals.
His voice had it all -- power, charisma, richness and emotion. So grateful for the musical gifts he left us ❤🎶
Being nearly 64! I am a soft spot for vocalists across the spectrum. Michael McDonald, Christopher Cross, Stephen Bishop, Richard Marx etc, but Paul is right at the top of my list. Great range and too many brilliant songs to mention, sadly Paul died far too young not long after I had seen him at Manchester Apollo with M and M's. Beautiful lyrics with this song! Wow. RIP Sir Paul x
Thank you so much for your beautiful comment. The music became magical when Paul had a hand (and voice) in it 🙏❤🎶
Tracy
As a vocalist he's in a different league to 3 of the 4 you've named there.
couldnt agree more, had the pleasure of meeting him on my 17 birthday, he bought me a pint of lager,,,im64 now never forget it.....cheers
The MOST BEAUTIFUL VOICE AND GEORGE HARRISON CAN SING
👍
Magnificent voice, incredible showman. Saw them three times in concert...AMAZING!!!
They always seemed to have amazing lead singers: Paul Carrack, Andrew Roachford, and of course, Paul Young. I find myself listening to them now more than ever.
This guy’s voice was SO good, I had to stop whatever I was doing every time in order to listen.
Whenever I hear the name Paul Young, the tributes seem to flow to the Young born in 1956 [ of " Everytime you go" fame ] My acknowledgment goes to this great man, who was an englishman and gave us so many great tunes to remember.Who sang lead, along with Paul Carrack, for Mike Rutherford in the roup Mike and the Mechanics. Paul, we salute you and remember your great contribution to our hearts in your songs. We miss you dearly.RIP !
What a great artist. Your voice will be forever missed. RIP Paul Young 🙏 ❤️
Nothing beats this. One of my favourite songs of all time.
A true Manchester legend... never forgotten
Gone way too soon. An unbelievable voice and presence on stage. An icon in music
Listened to mike and the music but never took note of the vocalists until now and feel a great sense of regret in not appreciating Paul Young’s vocals, earlier, as always in life we seem to never appreciate what is in front of us!
100 %
I saw Mick + the mechanics at the symphony hall birmingham . They were brilliant , I must add I was a Sad Cafe fan . I was at the front and singing away when Paul sang and he looked at me several times. I was so lucky at the end of the concert Paul was just standing at the front of the stage , I looked up at him and said ..Paul and offered my hand to shake his , he looked down at me and he did not hesitate and shock my hand . what a moment for me, as he was my favourite singer from the early days of Sad Cafe to present day .Then not really that long after that concert , he pass away. Without a doubt he was an unbelievable talent , he could play a multitude of instruments, sing and dance only Paul could dance. I listen to your songs and watch your videos much love RIP.
The 3 top UK vocalists of all time are Paul Young (this Paul Young!), Robert Palmer and Paul Rodgers.
Thanks Tracy from the Bottom of My Heart. You gave me an opportunity to see my Idol Paul Young (Mike & The Mechanic) & celebrate his creations.
GREATNESS in the moment!
One of the greatest singers of the 20th century. Eternal memory
Thank you Tracy for this, I knew Paul's music through Sad Cafe, that was some great music, sad he left us so young..

Aw bro 😢 from NC 😔
Saw him with Mike and the mechanics years ago still one of the most fantastic voices listen to the 1979 Sad Cafe everyday hurts and 2007 version with Mike and the Mechanics wonderful.
Thank you for sharing your amazing memory of him with us ❤🎶
I remember hearing his voice in person because I used to go up to his place in the 70s October 1979 if my memory serves me correctly.
"Word of mouth" is the song that I like the most because Paul's voice sounds very good!
I like that one, too, Maria 😊👍
I also like that song so much. It spreads an incredibly positive mood 😃
R.I.P .Paul and thanks for all you have done!
Wir vermissen Ihn. Was ein großartiger Sänger.
An amazing voice, a talent we wish we all had, amazing is to small a word to use. RIP
Awesome Rip. PAUL , your voice never left me from my first concert 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🎸🎸🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧💯💯💯💯👌👌🙏🙏🙏 in Manchester at the Apollo
When I first heard "Miracle" i thought "I love this guys voice" and bought the album. The album was ok but their next album "The Living Years" is one of my all time favorites and Young did 6 lead vocals compared to Carracks 4. Great songs and Young's voice is one of my all time favorites. I have all the Mechanics albums and the M6 album was much more Carrack even though I like his voice also. I still listen to Mechanics albums periodacaly and always am amazed what a great singer he was.
Amazing voice to a beautiful soul, I listened to so many of his songs, sorely missed so many good memories.❤️ Thankyou Paul
Lovely Paul he died way to young.x

Saw Sad Cafe in the late 70’s. They were an amazing live band but Paul Young led from the front. Excellent frontman and a great vocal range. Very underrated band. Minus Paul they are still touring.

A great vocalist and performer. I've been exploring Sad Cafe's catalogue, some excellent tunes in there. RIP ❤️
Thank you for the comment, Robbie. I listen to his music every day. His passing was a tremendous loss to the music community. Take care 😊
Chronicles and Sad Cafe Live are my go to albums. On with the show is still the best opening track ever.
Sadly missed.
Followed the Caffs all over the UK in the the late 70s & 80s, Paul Young was just such a charismatic front man with a great vocal range, i've still got my sad cafe badge and many programs from there gigs, Paul was taken far to early from us.............R.I.P Paul xx sadly missed even to this very day,
Paul Young was a pleasure for me to hear his voice. It will always remain in my mind and heart .. thanks for everything you did .. With Sad Café. And with the band of Mike and The Mechanics.🙏🏼😍😘🍀🎼🎶🎵

A very nice beautiful song by the late lead sad cafe mike & the mechanics vocals Paul young
Thank you for watching. He had a beautiful gift I'm grateful we can still enjoy ❤🎶
Muy buen cantor y la pacion que le ponia a cada cancion que cantaba que en paz descance
"Everday Day Hurts" was a song I have always loved from the time of release. Little did I know that many years later a woman I love deeply was going to disappear without trace. It was some two years before she contacted me. After coming to see me and explain it was only as she drove away that I realized I would never see her again. So the song truly resonates with me and the pain will never go away.
This guys voice is so really lovely ,,it blended in with Sad Cafe ,,What utter sadness of his passing RIP DEAR FELLO XX jANE XX
I met Paul Young, at Alistair Gordon's studio. Alistair was fundamentally, instrumental in the entire production of the posthumous album, " Chronicles". Paul was a delight to meet, so down to earth and modest. A wonderful experience to hear him singing and only feet away from him....magical!!!!!
What a wonderful memory. Thank you so much for sharing. May I post your comment on our Facebook page dedicated to Paul? His family and friends share their wonderful memories there 😊 Thanks again ❤

Beautifully chosen song highlighting what a wonderful vocalist Paul Young was. Still missed 20 years after his death , but he left behind some great music for us to remember him by, including Chronicles which again has some wonderful songs on it. Well done with your tribute..enjoyed by a life long Sad Cafe fan.🥰
Thank you so much, Phillip. Yes, I still listen to his wonderful music everyday (including songs from "Chronicles" which I purchased not long ago).
Take care,
Tracy 😊

@@tracystevens6134 Hi Tracy.
Yes I'm aware of the other things that are being done dedicated to the band and Paul Young. Some great material for us all to enjoy. Thanks anyway for your thoughtfulness. 😊
Take care.
Phillip.
@@tracystevens6134 Great tribute. I wonder what he would have made of today's events going on. He didn't even get to see 9/11. Sorry if it sounds macabre, but I do wonder what some people who are no longer around would make of things that happened after they'd passed on. His words on "Word of Mouth" have shown to be ageless given what's been happening since.
Well said my friend, saw him Manchester with Sad Cafe hooked after that but well said my friend 🙏🙏🙏😃😃
i remember uploading this a while back but before i did , i just sat there in my living room and quietly listened to the pure vocal,s of Youngie and his tone as he tells the story . for me he will always be the Man nobody comes close in my opinion R.I.P PAUL

Gone2 soon Beautiful .
[From the CD single "Stop Baby, pt II", 1991]
I didn't get it, not at all
When to run or when to crawl
Consistency, that's not my game
A whisper, then a shout
My youthfulness, I sense today
Forever may have fell away
Reluctantly, I have to say
It's time we talked things out
Cos I think I've got the message
I can hear you loud and clear
You don't have to spell it out for me, my dear
You don't have to paint a picture
Or whisper in my ear
Cos I think I've got the message, loud and clear
I don't know what gets into me
Makes me act so foolishly
The steady hand, once in control
Been missing, here of late
I know it's been a bumpy ride
So up and down, from side to side
I'll get my head out of the clouds
And try to see things straight
Cos I think I've got the message
I can hear you loud and clear
You don't have to spell it out for me, my dear
You don't have to paint a picture
Or whisper in my ear
Cos I think I've got the message, loud and clear
You don't have to paint no picture
Or whisper in my ear
I think I've got the message loud and clear
Yes, I think I've got the message
Loud and clear
