Did anyone else notice that the title of this video is "25 Greatest Christmas Films", but at the beginning of the video it says "100 Greatest Christmas Films"?
My top five from that lost..(5) Scrooge..(4) Elf..(3) Home Alone..(3) National Lampoons Christmas Vacation..(1) A Christmas Story..I watch A Christmas Story for 24 hrs from Christmas Eve till Christmas Day :)
Why are there people in the comments talking about how old these films are. These are absolute classics. Its A Wonderful Life is easily the best christmad film ever made. This is quite a brilliant and professional list in my opinion, and Im only 15.
I always look forward to It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, White Christmas, The Santa Clause, Elf, and The Muppets Christmas Carol! I like others too!
My top 15 movies to watch at Christmas are a mix of Christmas and non Christmas but all of them I love sitting round with my family at the holidays and watching. 1. It's a wonderful life 2. Elf 3. Home alone 1 and 2 4. Die Hard 5. Frozen 6. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 7. The Grinch 2000 8. Bad Santa 9. Scrooged 10. Lord of the rings 11. Harry Potter 12. Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer 1998 13. Miracle on 34 street 1994 14. Nightmare Before Christmas 15. Beauty and the beast
Here is my top 5: 1. Christmas Vacation (1989) 2. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) 3.Christmas Story (1983) 4. It's a Wonderful Life (1946) 5. Home Alone (1990)
Watching A Muppet Christmas Carol this afternoon - I love the bit where Scrooge shouts at the rodent for complaining about the cold and the next shot is them all in tropical outfits singing "this is are my island in the sun!"
I watched a Christmas film a few years back, maybe three or four, and I can't remember the name but really want to watch it again! It was on English TV and it's not an old traditional. It was about a boy and I think his parents might die in a car crash because they crash into a lorry, he meets an old man and I think he might be an angel? There is scenes of a little girl falling through ice outside of her back door as well as him ending up homeless? I think the end is that he gets a second chance or finds out it was a dream and then all of the stuff happened because of him hiding the keys and then the dad who was a firefighter was able to save the girl etc. I hope this makes sense, please help!
Here's my Top 3 list: (1) A Christmas Story (2) National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (3) Night of the Comet. Night of the Comet is coming out on Blu-Ray on Nov. 19th. : )
It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Story will always compete for the absolute BEST Christmas Film just because of their amazing popularity in the 40s and the 80s but I being an 80s child still say It's a Wonderful Life is THE Christmas Film.
Did the guy from Love Actually look familiar? (the one with the white cue cards)... yes, he's now the lead on The Walking Dead! We missed The Family Stone!
Santa clause the movie 1985 with Dudley Moore should be on the list. Infact it should be at number 1. Greatest Xmas movie without a doubt. Also, at the start it says the movies are on the list based on a few things including originality. Then when see about 6 or 7 versions of the christmas carol tale?
Wow!You included 3 Scrooge movies, but did not add the very best being the '38 version with Reginald Owen and Gene Lockhart! And since you added Die Hard, then might as well add Rocky!
calm down. everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I grew up with a Christmas story, and its not the best one out there. and honestly, frosty the snow man is an older Christmas film than a Christmas story. without all this hate in the world, the world would be better. maybe try to be more considerate of others?
I agree. I must say I dont agree with this list. I've seen more christmas films than most people (I'm kinda addicted.), and The Santa Clause is nr. 1 on my list. Anyway, I guess everyone's taste is different.
I loved the originality of "Holiday Inn", but "White Christmas" was the most unnecessary sequel in cinema history... actually it was not even a sequel, they just re-made its predecessor with the screenplay marred with silly sequences, stupid songs and a final scene that a 3 year old would have trouble believe..
jennifer pruitt i never even watched the first one... I only know that the child-actor managed to become a successful producer - much better than Macaulay Calcin "has been" example...
Number 1 was the obvious right choice. Many of these, however, aren't Christmas movies. They're movies that happen to take place around Christmas time. It's also sad to see the diminishing mention of spirituality in the more recent films.
Charlie Brown, Rudolph, and Boris Karloffs Grinch are more like tv specials then films. Top tier in that regard but doesn't really belong in a film category.
everybody should watch becoming Santa i have never been so moved by a documentary or movie before but that one really made me share a tear and get that god old Christmas feeling back to my heart. Merry Christmas to all when the time comes.
I think it's awesome my two favorite Christmas movies of all-time are #1 and #2 on this list. I swear, whoever says the remake of Miracle on 34th Street is seriously misguided and needs to watch the whole scene they show on this video. But I'm not sure why Gremlins is on this list... that's more of a Halloween movie IMO even though it is set DURING Christmastime.

Watching A Muppet Christmas Carol this afternoon - I love the bit where Scrooge shouts at the rodent for complaining about the cold and the next shot is them all in tropical outfits singing "this is are my island in the sun!"
Yoh ho ho ho is this deliberate
Even though Gremlins is based around Christmas, I wouldn't consider it a Christmas movie. It's still an awesome movie, though.
Rick from Walking Dead :D at 0:27

+Hannah Fraser all ways love christmas carol films but some are better then others
Hannah Fraser ino this is an old comment but totally agree
agree with this. 1000 percent
Gremlins. Gotta be Gremlins.
Wow!You included 3 Scrooge movies, but did not add the very best being the '38 version with Reginald Owen and Gene Lockhart! And since you added Die Hard, then might as well add Rocky!
i love christmas vaction
I like The Ref. ..."I've kidnapped my parents."

calm down. everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I grew up with a Christmas story, and its not the best one out there. and honestly, frosty the snow man is an older Christmas film than a Christmas story. without all this hate in the world, the world would be better. maybe try to be more considerate of others?
Yes I agree totally 100%!!! Amen.

Santa Claus: The Movie.
Dudley Moore. John Lithgow. David Huddleson. Burgess Meredith.
Same thing with Die Hard.
This video is so informative....all in onw place...some of them are really my favorites....SmileKidsTV
WAW
I would add the movie "Come to the Stable" to this list.
It says 100
At the start it said 100 Greatest Christmas Films, but this is only 25, were are the rest?
It must have been a special on a channel like AMC and the uploader chose to show just the top 25
The 71 version is best
Polar Express should have been on here
What are you 100 000 000 years old
I loved the originality of "Holiday Inn", but "White Christmas" was the most unnecessary sequel in cinema history... actually it was not even a sequel, they just re-made its predecessor with the screenplay marred with silly sequences, stupid songs and a final scene that a 3 year old would have trouble believe..
What about "A Christmas Story 2"? Yes there was a sequel from last year....
jennifer pruitt i never even watched the first one... I only know that the child-actor managed to become a successful producer - much better than Macaulay Calcin "has been" example...
Gremlins and Die Hard are NOT Christmas movies. It takes more than just taking place around Christmas to be a Christmas movie.
Actual movie tho ??!!!
Where is elf
Number 1 was the obvious right choice. Many of these, however, aren't Christmas movies. They're movies that happen to take place around Christmas time. It's also sad to see the diminishing mention of spirituality in the more recent films.
Gremlins? Seriously. You have no idea what Christmas is all about.
Elf is only 21 what the fuck
How can one miss the Dudley Moore starring "Santa Claus" in this list ??
Wtf no polar express?!?!
I know right, the polar express is my favorite Christmas movie ever!
Christmas vacation🎄
How could Love Actually be 25th? It's one of the best!
Joyeux noel is definitely the best one
Where is "The Polar Express"? Its the best Chrismas movie ever made. It makes me cry everytime i watch it.
No surprise for #1. It is not only the best Christmas film, but one of my all time favorites! Great list!
Home alone is the best
bah humarg
the only thing with what I strongly disagree - Christmas Vacation should be at least Top 5
This list makes me want to convert to judaism!
Amazing list ♥ all your lists Rock :)
no HOME ALONE IS THE CHEESIEST MOVIE AND THERE ARE SOOO MUCH BETTER
BAD SANTA!
Love this list. Its almost exactly what I would pick.
Charlie Brown, Rudolph, and Boris Karloffs Grinch are more like tv specials then films. Top tier in that regard but doesn't really belong in a film category.
great list but there all in the wrong order :)
Says who?
I like home alone
Christmas films I watch every year: Home Alone, Home Alone 2, Jingle All The Way, Scrooge (1970), Die Hard
everybody should watch becoming Santa i have never been so moved by a documentary or movie before but that one really made me share a tear and get that god old Christmas feeling back to my heart.
Merry Christmas to all when the time comes.
December 1st! Yes! Finally!
Great list
Nightmare Before Christmas should NOT be at #14!!!! It should definitely be in the top 10 man ... 5 even!!!
Miracle on 34th Street is on there and same with The Grinch, not the newer version, but it's on there.
I think it's awesome my two favorite Christmas movies of all-time are #1 and #2 on this list. I swear, whoever says the remake of Miracle on 34th Street is seriously misguided and needs to watch the whole scene they show on this video. But I'm not sure why Gremlins is on this list... that's more of a Halloween movie IMO even though it is set DURING Christmastime.
why is Jingle all the Way #63? Arnold makes any holiday the best one!
ho! ho! ho! the misletoe!!
But i LOVE it!!!!!!
