About his ending: It is different from the FF because it just makes people sick with the Omen Curse, they will still be born, reproduce and die, passing on the curse forever. In this process, making everyone an omen is the great equalizer so to speak. The golden and black flames are an asset used for two things: Omen cursed magic and Deathblight (Godwyn). In this case for the Omen curse, those little orbs are wraiths of the dead who were cursed...so in a manner of speaking you don't truly die, you are left in limbo.
Malenia wanted to beat Rahdan without resorting to using the scarlet rot Also by last of all kings he means that there's no heir to leyndell's throne and now there are no more kings in the lands between
@@kabvrvthat’s precisely what it was. As Millicent said and I’m paraphrasing here, Malenia threw her pride aside and bloomed with scarlet rot to meet Radahn’s measure. He was too powerful for her to overcome otherwise and she would’ve lost. In the end, both sides fled the battle, ending it in a draw. With that result, Malenia was still undefeated. Well, until we Tarnished got lucky. 😅
@@Behemoth9030 she is a sore loser, tries to pull the bloom on us poor tarnished too. it's not enough with her Waterfowl dance, self heal and that she is way bigger than us :(
Malenia didn't "want to do her flower thing", her drawing on the power of the Scarlet Rot like that was the ultimate admission of failure possible and even that didn't fully put down Radahn, Malenia's entire life is about proving that she can do anything despite the disability imposed on her by the Outer God of Rot. Her calling on it whilst facing Radahn is far more of a defeat than her being slain by the Chosen Tarnished. IMO.
I like to think the frenzied Flame ending is a nuke and blessing of despair is oddly enough just a STD ending. To answer why it's a blessing. All misbegotten prior to the ending were persecuted and hated. With the blessing everyone is cursed, and in a way blessed the same way.
I like that in a way, though if you can't bring yourself up, bringing everyone else down is usually not the right way. Either way, the misbegotten probably feel some justice.
Margit is more of a pseudonym, a name chosen to mask one’s true identity. It’s commonly seen from various writers of fiction. Morgott could be a reference to Morgoth, though as I understand the character, it would be a reference in name alone. 😅 With Morgoth being so great and terrible, after all.
I think the Dung Eater's name may be literal in a sense. He likely consumes his victims' shirikodama. It's the hard ball that contains the soul according to japanese mythology. I'm sure you can guess where it is.
Trust me I had no idea who that guy was either, and when I noticed that we could kill him I'm like wait I remember every named npc I could kill and I don't remember that guy, but yeah he's cut content
The curse is only seen like a bad thing in the eyes of the golden order, but for some characters in the game been cut away from grace is a blessing. So basically it depends on your perspective
Yes totally. I had a similar perspective on the Frenzied Flame ending originally, thinking that killing all is better than being controlled by the golden order. Like most things in life, a little perspective goes a long way.
The specific creature is different from the regular bat enemies, more like a siren of the skies. I can’t recall their actual name in-game though. I keep thinking gargoyles but then there’s the giant gargoyles and kindred as well 😅
Another thing, although the character is named "Dung eater" we can look at it as a name given by the people who executed him. He doesn't really eat excrement or like the so called "soul orb" theory says he doesn't rip said orb out of people's butts. If you check, all of his victims are male, with blood on their crotches...The *Seed*-bed curse, see? The icon of the seed also looks like a horned testicle.
I was thinking how to explain that well done. As for me in souls games sometimes a name given is usually taken literally at least in my experience. Dung eater literally yep.
I think that it's related to how the Kappa(river child) of japanese folklore are said to take something called a Shirikodama(an orb said to contain the soul) from the anus.@@kabvrv
People have different interpretations but I subscribe to the idea of the Elden Ring being a collection of powerful magic runes, each with a given power and purpose pertaining to the world. Idk how it was created, but there's evidence to suggest an elden ring was present before Marika came to the lands between so I'm thinking it's a fundamental power that the world was shaped by and around
Regarding the flame magic Dung Eater uses, I think it's the same attacks as the wraith callers and revenants. The dudes with bells and the ungodly amalgamations that Miyazaki was ~kind enough~ to send our ways to haunt our playthroughs. Wraiths are described by the wraith calling bell as vengeful spirits who died cursed, so it's safe to assume that the dingy gold and brown flamey-type magic are the weaponized spirits of those who die with cursed souls and thus were unable to truly be reborn from the Erdtree. I'm seeing some people saying it's the same as Deathblight magic, but they have different visual effects so I doubt they're connected.
They're somewhat different colors, but the difference is subtle (I myself didn't really take a close look until it was mentioned in I do believe SmoughTown's video on the Dung Eater). The wraith/Omen magic is light a slightly darker gold with brown mixed in, while Deathblight is markedly gold in appearance with black mixed in for the Death Flare of the Eclipse Shotel. Also, something that somehow slipped my mind while writing the OG comment, but the darker wraith/Omen magic doesn't cause Deathblight build-up. From at least a game mechanic stand-point that feels pretty conclusive for me. Oh and apologies for taking your words wrong! I just saw some comments conflating the two and wanted to add my own perspective to the discussion 😅. It is fascinating tho that they're the same asset. Maybe they're coded differently in the two instances? I'm not really a data miner/code person so that piece is out of my skill range
@@novatheastro3857 I personally don't see any difference between the two, but I also think it would be trivial to utilize the same asset and just modify some parameters related to color if the devs wanted to. Data-wise, Elden Ring is not a huge game considering how vast it is. They clearly implement at least some efficiencies.
Its really hard to describe exactly what the Elden Ring is i personally believe its a collection of runes (the great runes we gain from the main bosses, im guessing when it was shattered it separated into different great runes) and you need something to Anchor (margot rune) at least two other runes to make an elden ring we use the mending runes to i guess hold them together like Radagon rune (his is super complicated but from what ive seen and heard if you look at the current elden ring {even the one at the start screen shows it} his is the cris cross sections behind all of the runes if you look at the (once agian my guess) the OG elden ring in maliketh boss area thta cris cross design isnt there so explaining the elden ring is hard and kinda dont make sense but thanks to Vatti, Smoughtown and many others I'm getting an ok grasp with Elden Ring in general....then the DLC comes iut and chamges everything lol
I like the idea of it being open to interpretation. Like, it could be a physical ring, it could be a metaphor, it could be a collection of magical... essences or something.
nah that was a different flame attack from dung eater, dont know which one tho. The color is brown(dung eater lol) , i think it looks like deathroot flame(or how the fuck its called) but it doesnt make you build up death , so idk. totally not frenzy tho , its more red with orange
yeah theres a video on the dung eater himself by square table gaming that fully explains the dunbg eater ending i'd recomend watching it in your own time when you get the chance, that channel does a better job explaining things, i love vaati videos but he does sacrific clairity for narritive structure and so if your not good at understanding subtext it can be hard to know what he's saying on first watch
The sun medallion on his armour represents "the guidence of grace he once saw".
That send both strange and fitting. Like a morbid irony.

Flowering and releasing the rot does seem like quite the jerk move ngl... I could see it as a last resort kind of thing.

They can be reborn under the age of despair. The Dungeater's curse mending ring makes the Elden Ring able to allow it again.
Margit was like a...nickname?
Sort of like a Robin Hood of sorts.
But his true name is Morgott, I surmise it is a reference to Tolkien's Morgoth.

No doubt. The more I learned about that belief, the more I saw the similarities. It makes total sense.
Oh and that super righteous guy in the mask, he's cut content
I was going to say I 100% this game and besides the mask itself I did not recognize any of that. I love how cut content is included in the videos.

16:35 It's accurate, look at where the bloodstains are on the bodies, they're bound to a chair with their legs open.
He's maybe not the worst in the game at scale, but individually, I think he takes the crown.
The song is sung in game by the bat creatures. So that was the translation at the beginning. BTW this is my favorite vaati video
I am happy that I watched them all in order. The quality gets better on each one. This is a good one.

Cool!

Regal Omen Bairn and Eclipse Shotel, what do they look like?
I never said they were the same thing, but they use the same flame asset.

The curse will keep infesting from generation to generation till one day everyone has the curse and the perfect order will be complete......
If you go to the dung eaters cell you can actually see his face if you want. Clip through his mask with the camera.
I just looked it up and I think I met that guy once.
