Just when you thought it had something to do with the Manzer guitar, Julian blows ourminds with a tele. Just when you think maybe it might have something to do with that tele twang, Julian whips out a Gretsch and proves it's all Jules.
Ha, he could blow us away on a damned diddley bow!!!! Just saw him and Nels Cline Sunday night. Wow, what a show that was!!!

Love that this guy gets music of all genres and presents it with his take on it. From Jazz to grooves. His tune Saint Rose has a killer groove. Its a joy to listen to everything he plays.
I discovered Julians music semi recently, i heard Nocturne and it just blew my mind... The man can play...
I bought the new album the day it came out... Julian is my next Bill Frisell... I don't wait for reviews, I just buy their new music when it comes out because I know I'll never be disappointed.

So much class! A three piece that is completely organic. I love that Julian only uses either an old school telecaster or gretsch, one boost stomp-box, and an old 5 watt Fender (last I heard) and just sounds amazing everytime!! Even if you don't care for this style of music, this is a guitarist that you should really pay attention to. If you are a guitarist and really want to get better-that is.

You always have such phenomenal guitar tone.
Imagine someone not that proficient on guitar plays with that tone. It would sound like junk. Julian knows what he wants to play on the guitar that it comes out with such confidence. That kind of raw tone is so revealing that it would expose everything about the player with nowhere to hide

These live sessions sound so much better than the actual album. The band seems more comfortable with the material
I love the album version, but do also prefer this take. Presumably, they had at least a little time after cutting the album to work with the songs and internalize them.
