Same with me...want to get my attention? PUT A BIRD ON IT!!!🤣 Blankets are a favorite of mine as well. Love the yellow one you chose.👍 Your bed looks beautiful!😍
Another beautiful video. You found great pieces to resale. I love the bed! Your room will look so beautiful when you finish decorating. I had a Bates bedspread when I lived back east and it was so heavy. Loved seeing the cats and Licorice.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! We're enjoying the bed very much, but it's definitely much higher than the one we had before - sometimes when I get out of bed in the morning I feel like I'm falling! 😂😂
Love all the changes! That bed is fantastic! I can’t wait to see the canopy and side curtains when you’re done. I have a hand tied canopy on my bed. But I’ve always wanted one like you are going to make. Talk about crazy kitties, my Siamese likes to jump onto my highboy and then leap onto the canopy. He then sleeps in it as if it were a hammock 😳 Luckily yours is close to the ceiling. 😊
I can't believe your Siamese can leap onto the highboy and canopy! Wow! Mine haven't managed those kinds of jumps yet - and fingers crossed they never do!
Aren't they so silly? Iris has been picking at the threads in the Bates bedspread, but I picked up two coverlets to pop over it. (I'll choose one of them). I think it's going to work - I just need to wash them.
Love your new bed. It’s amazing how just changing that out has changed the look of the room. I also love Katz’s Deli. The matzo ball soup is amazing. I go for the corned beef Reuben, and bring home raspberry rugelach cookies. Another great deli is Reins Deli in Vernon. I like it better than Katz’s!
Wow, great purchases. I like the direction that your bedroom is going in. I would move the table to another spot in the house. It doesn’t look quite right there. It might be a good spot for a bookcase or display case that can tuck in behind the radiator..
I think you're right and thank you for saying so. I think I'm trying to make something work that just doesn't. It's such an odd space. Maybe a small side chair would be better. I'll move things around and see what I can do.
Love the bed so regal !!!! Just put a coverlet over the bedspread when the animals are on it ! Great haul ! How about some books on the margolis table take the books from on top of the tall dresser .
The bates bedspread brings back wonderful memories. We always had bates bedspreads as my grandfather and great grandfather were loom fixers at bates in Maine. They made top quality items. I enjoy your videos so much. Good job!!
I love the bed! A suggestion for you table would be perhaps a pair of beautiful brass candlestick holders or a brass hurricane lamp with a stack of vintage/antique books with a candle snuffer on top of them. Just a thought. I love your channel!
I absolutely love hurricane lamps, but I think the cats would break it. I have three hurricane shades in storage right now in an effort to keep them safe. I could definitely do brass candlestick holders and they would look really correct with the colonial feel I'm trying to create. Thanks for the suggestions!
Wow Kris I love the resin lamp and the shade is pretty with a branding tag that makes it special lol 😊. Great haul 😊 Love your bedroom too. Oh my goodness I love the bed so much. It looks perfect in the bedroom. 😊
❤ THAT BED IS GORGEOUS AND SO PERFECT FOR YOUR HOME....I THINK THE PLANTER IS TOO LARGE IN SCALE , BUT I AM NOT SURE HOW TO REPLACE IT. ...AS FOR THE SMALL TABLE, I CAN JUST SEE A SMALL, LOVELY WOODEN CHEST OR CABINET ....PERHAPS TOO MUCH WOOD, IF THAT IS EVEN A THING.....WELL, JUST THOUGHTS.....BUT ALL REALLY JUST LOVELY THINGS TO WORK WITH.....THANKS FOR SHARING!!
I really like your ideas! (and I agree, the planter is too large in scale - it dwarfs everything else). I was thinking some kind of painted wood piece might be nice to avoid too much wood - I think we're on the exact same page! I've looked for ideas on Pinterest, but it hasn't been that helpful for this particular project.
The bed was the right choice. I know that style as a "rice carved poster bed." Rice from the carvings of rice sheaves on the posts. You made it clear that it's cherry and it could be, but those are also commonly made of mahogany.
I didn't realize they were rice sheaves - thank you for the information! The seller told us it was cherry, but it definitely works well with the mahogany dresser, so you may be right.
Hi Chris great remake of the bedroom. Some thoughts on the side table in the corner. Maybe an antique wind up clock, some that come to mind, steeple, gingerbread, pillar and scroll there are lots of English carriage or bracket clocks. Williamsburg has one made by Chelsea but is super expensive. They all must be wound and chime and ding which may not be good for a bedroom setting but can be a great decor look if they are just silent. Those mention are not to pricey except the one by Chelsea. Always a great video. Be safe and well. God bless. Will
I grew up in Weston Ct and I went to Southern. Wonderful memories of that area of the state plus the beautiful drive up the Mary Parkway in the fall. Living in coastal N.C although nice . dose not have the same vibe. This is the time of year I miss being up North
Thank you for the info. on Mink and Sink. The support for the course is really overwhelmingly generous. I really missed this sale. I always go to the one in New London , and I do not know why it disappeared. You got a great haul despite having to rush.
That was an awesome sale, the cute tea set, the nice lamps, and I always melt over Liberty Blue. I have a set and use it for 4th of July, I saw a UA-cam video of a lady that mixed in red transfer ware and red goblets for a beautiful red, white and blue table, I’m going to have to try that. Great buy on your beautiful bed. I have almost the exact same bed and the matching Highboy. Eric is the best, I’m glad he was able to adjust the bed to fit. If you don’t want something too heavy on the Canopy have you looked at the crocheted canopies? I love 💕 you table by the window, you could put a small tray with pewter goblets or since your hardware on the furniture is brass a small brass tray with brass cups, those would be safe from breaking. Also a small heavy bust Statue that wouldn’t cover up your nice print would look nice.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! Liberty Blue is very pretty - you're lucky to have a set! I love crocheted canopies, and they're not hard to find, so it's an option, but I'm dying to use the heaps of fabric I thrifted a few weeks ago. If my vision doesn't work (and it may not), a crocheted option will be on the table for sure. Pewter could be a very nice choice - I hadn't thought of that! Brass might also look really nice. I'm going to play around with the spaces and see what works. Thanks for the ideas! So helpful!!!!
A basket might work really well - good thought! I think the cats would get into the flowers, but books would also be a safe bet! Thanks for the excellent ideas!
Lovely items from the Wilton tag sale. For now, I’d definitely agree with moving the very pretty, but large, ceramic planter elsewhere, and perhaps just move the books to the left on the dresser to give the small lamp a bit more space. Maybe a smaller brass vessel in place of the planter? Just a thought…
I love the idea of a brass piece there - I think it would work really well. I'm going to keep my eye out for something exactly like that and find a new home for the Delft planter. I love it, but it's too big for the space. I appreciate the ideas and suggestions!
How about putting some of your old antique books just a few you and? I'm thinking some type of little dish with the catch. Do you have any? You have some. 10 tin or sdover dishes. I don't know, I can't remember little vols. Maybe just an idea. Love your bed absolutely. Love it my grandmother had one I was supposed to get it when i got married. And it ended up somehow in some other person's house. So I was really disappointed. In fact, it was very much like yours, but I didn't have. The canopy was just a four poster with the pineapple tops I think your favorite will be fabulous. Good luck❤
Hello Kris, I was wondering if you still have red longaberger pottery bowl? I have not noticed it in your eBay store. My thought to replace the plant on your dresser would be a tall glass terrarium or a leaded glass terrarium. I have one on high hutch in my dining room. I have faux succulents in it and it looks great. Thanks for another enjoyable video. 😉
Love this video, Kris. Since you asked, how about using a wrought iron, double candle holder, one that has a single, elevated base which holds 2 simple tall candles? It could look stunning with the print as well as the table itself. And, aside from a broken candle now and then, it won't be destroyed. P.S. The punched tin lamp w/out shade: is it for sale?
I never would have thought of that! What a great idea! I'm going to look into something like that. I agree with you, I don't think the cats could break it! The punched tin lamp just sold, but I will definitely be on the lookout for another one in the future!
The bed is very pretty. How did Licorice jump up there? It's so high! Maybe a candlestick lamp, small stack of books and a vintage box on the small Margolis table? I'm sure you'll find something pretty to display. 😺😺
Licorice is clearly part kangaroo! She is a determined little dog, that's for sure. I'm wary of a lamp in the space (destructo-cats), but I think some books and a vintage box would look really great. Thanks for the ideas!
I think I would try a smaller planter, smaller arrangement. Perhaps brass for autumn/winter? The solid wouldn't compete with the lamp? Spring/summer you could change out to milk glass planter or nice pottery piece. A different finish than the lamp. I just keep plugging in pieces 'til I'm content. I love to mix different materials.... metals, porcelain, pottery... but takes some tries before it doesn't look crazy 😂 The bed is lovely. Love your channel. One of my faves.
Brass would look so nice there! I love that idea! Uh-oh, now I'm remembering something that I saw while out thrifting this weekend that I didn't buy that might have worked well. I do the same thing as you - I just keep trying until the look is right! 😂😂
The new bed really changes the bedroom. It is perfect & you got a good deal! Could you switch out the round side table & the square table. Seems like round would work better in the corner??
I'm so glad you liked the bed! I tried the square table next to the bed, but it jutted out too far into the staircase. When I turned it the other way, it looked odd. It's a beautiful table, but a little bit hard to place, if that makes sense.
Definitely need a low profile box spring, or just slated box spring. The bed too high. Also that beautiful table would look so nice under the window with a simple faux plant African violet in brass
For what its worth, I wpuld only put a canopy on the beautiful bed. I would not cover the pretty 4 posts. They are too kretty. All the post draperies closes the room in. .ugh prettier you've open. Sharon in Texas
Same with me...want to get my attention? PUT A BIRD ON IT!!!🤣

Your bed looks beautiful!😍
Haha! I love it! I'm so glad you like the new bed!
I love the bed exactly how it is!
I'm so glad! It was a good find, I think!
❤ Lovely hall as usual
I'm so glad you liked it!
Love the bed!! You always have such great ideas. Can't wait to see everything come together.
Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to keeping the bedroom makeover moving forward!

@ It’s definitely a Siamese thing. I’ve had a few. My Ragdoll doesn’t participate in any of Billy’s shenanigans.
Love that set from Norway! It's probably worth a lot. Very unique.
Thank you! Most of the set sold quickly. I only have the teacups and saucers left. I loved the pattern!
I love your new bed! I’ve always wanted a canopy bed. I know you’ll have fun putting different materials on the top.
Thank you so much! It's definitely going to challenge my sewing skills, but that's part of the fun, right?
I think that planter you have on the bureau would look charming on the table
I agree, but it would definitely get knocked over by wayward cats. It's a shame, because I think it would work nicely. I appreciate the suggestion! 😸😸
Love the bed! Great choice for your bedroom 🙂
Thank you so much! I was so happy to find exactly what I was looking for!
The cherry bed is stunning and gives the room a great look. Especially with the loughing cat and dog❤
Aren't they so silly? Iris has been picking at the threads in the Bates bedspread, but I picked up two coverlets to pop over it. (I'll choose one of them). I think it's going to work - I just need to wash them.
Great finds! Would love to see a tour of your beautiful home!
I definitely want to do that! It's on my list of things to do for sure!
Hi Chris, you scored alot of nice things! Love the blue banded bowl And punched tin lamp!! Thanks❤
I'm so glad you liked my finds! It was a successful thrifting day!

ESPECIALLY THE DISHES

Thank you so much! I'm excited about the store space as well. I'll be there in another month!
That lighter looks like Princess House.
I grew up in Waterbury and I loved Woolworths . It was sad when they closed in the early 80’s.

I was thinking brass as well. If candle sticks don’t work how about a brass/pewter plate or planter.
@@joyce2498 I think those metal tones (brass or pewter) will add a lot to the room. I'm definitely going to look for that kind of thing. 👍🏻👍🏻
