I'm really inspired by how you utilize your digitakt. It's nice to see it getting used outside of a house/techno setting. Also that cable management, my god...
Your jams are so inspiring. I’ve not come across many people doing whole songs with structure/variety on hardware setups. You’re clearly a great musician with a deep knowledge of your gear. Thanks for sharing!
That was really tasty. The song is moving nicely and there's plenty of stuff happening but it never gets messy. Well done! I bought Microcosm few months ago. I have shot few videos with it and I gotta say that it's one of the best guitar effects I have ever played. It's a box full of inspiration and new ideas. Anyway, thanks for making these tunes dude. Your channel is the main reason why I got back to live looping and decided to upgrade my old guitar+looper+amp setup. Keep em coming! :)
Just randomly carving through your videos in the last days, as I'm starting now from scratch in the synth/groovebox world and I'd like to include this new toys with my poor guitar skills, so watching your sruff is truly inspirational. Thanks for that and congrats for your music, that's just so beautiful to hear.
Hey thanks! If you're talking about the sound in the intro, it's this one I think > freesound.org/people/snafic/sounds/512529 Either way, this website is great for finding cool sounds. :)
What a brilliant setup and jam! How do you change the Microcosm preset from the Intro to the Strum setting? Via Midi CC from the Digitakt? I read your patch note (thanks for that) but still wonder about a few things. Like I guess you have a click running in the beginning for the guitar, but then how do you time your loop so precisely? Maybe my question doesn't make that much sense, sorry... I just find it hard to manually loop something to a existing beat/tempo and have it be on time precisely. :) Uh well.
Hey thanks a lot for the kind word! Actually I'm switching between the patches by using my good old hand, aha, you can see me twisting the knob at 1:00. But you can use MIDI Program Changes to recall any of the patches yeah. :) And I do have a metronome in my ears for most of the jam, yes. Don't worry it's basically impossible for a human to manually record a loop that's the perfect length, it will always drift after a few minutes. The trick is to use a MIDI-synced looper. In that case the Aeros Loop Studio is receiving MIDI clock from the Digitakt so it quantizes the start and end point of my loops to the nearest beat. It's super handy!
@@Aldoistaken Yeah, the drift thing. Couldn't think of the word, thanks for reading my mind. Gonna look into the Aeros. Also, I gotta check the manual again but I am pretty sure the Microcosm can do quantised looping, which should have the same effect? Going to give it a try later. Anyways, thanks for getting back to me and your inspiring content, much appreciated.
@@vvlvmusic Yeah the Microcosm does have a looper but I can't comment on how reliable it is with MIDI sync, I gotta give it a go soon! Also it would be a bit limited compared to a dedicated looper like the Aeros. But anyway you're welcomeeee.
Love your stuff!! Could you share a bit about your workflow? What usually comes first? Like chopping samples, drum beat etc? For me I can’t start until I lay down some sort of chord progression but I know people who work off of drums first 😅
Hey I'm pretty much the same, I often start by finding some nice progression or melody on the guitar, or sometimes I have a sound idea and try to make it happen on the Digitakt, and then I build some chords around it. :)
@@Aldoistaken wow, never would've guessed you could get that sound from 0coast. The attack is so smooth, really exquisite feel. You've got quite the ear for this line of work, hope you get to make some good money touring once cv19 is over (if that's your forte). Beautiful work mate.
Hi Aldo! Really love your videos! I would like to get into live looping myself, but I don't really know where to start. I've looked around on the internet, but I've only seen recommendations for specific loopstations, and not actualy complete setups which is what I would like to know. Do you maybe have some tips on how to get started? It would be half acoustic half MIDI like your setup
Hey thanks! Have you look into Ableton? With Ableton, a MIDI controller and an audio interface you could get very similar results for a lot cheaper. :)
@@Aldoistaken Ableton happens to be my main DAW so that's an extremely fortunate coincedence haha! Thanks you for responding! I'll look into what I can do with my setup for now before unloading my bank account lol
Something tells me these random jams ain’t so random 🌌🧐
Those glitch repeats are probably my favorite sound ever with the random fluctuations

Whatever grain delay kind of thing on the guitar is insane🤯

It’s sober, elegant and desperately beautiful. Seems so easy, it gives me inspiration for my own ambient work. Great little impro.

Super smooth, love glitchy guitars! And the drums are soooo nice. Can I ask what drum sounds you're using, and which effects you've added?
Hey, not sure which drum sounds I used, I don't really buy packs or such, and they don't have any proper effect, they're just pitched down a lot. :)

are these on spotify or apple music cause these are heat
Hey Aldo! I really like your music and your minimal setup. How do you process the guitar? is it direct to the Focusrite?
