If you want YOUR game reviewed, please do this:
1. What's your username and replay code?
2. What's your rank and role?
3. Leave the reason you want that specific game reviewed (be as detailed as possible, it helps me to help you!)
1. Ozycly 50970110327
2. Diamond Tank (Mostly venom)
3. I myself go and rewatch my gameplay to see what i do wrong from time to time but my recent gameplays i cant seem to see what im doing wrong outside of small mistakes. I also have some mistakes in this for example 2.40. Everytime i die i try to find why i died(without blaming the team), was my positioning bad? did i not track my cooldowns? ect... I constantly try to improve my positioning i try to pick the right fights, i use Venom to its limits (sometimes too much xd), I try to fall back when needed. I feel like maybe my game sense is off?... maybe... I try to ping before i dive (if you see me wait a sec before diving its prob that). I comunicate with the team. I think my recent teammates were also good not blaming them... But i just seem to loose my matches. (im on a slight loose streak) (my winrate was close to 75 percent up to dia but lately i just loose)( maybe my expectations were too high and its normal to loose this much). I need an enlightenment to get to grandmaster. HELP ME.
4. BONUS ( Some games i switch to magneto but that seems to not work either. When should i consider switching to magneto?)
Oh and also i can provide diffrent matches if you think this one isnt enough to point out / find out my mistakes.
1.persona6when replay:10704128972
2.rank plat 3 role dps
3.the reason that I’m here is because I believe that I could have won this match but my teammate kept blaming the supports and I said it was a positioning issue and felt that this match was winnable but we didn’t what could have done differently
1. Cordell112807, 10733225919
2. Gold 1, tank and support
3. I feel like my positioning wasn't good, and i was also just playing for myself and not my team, i was not aware of the situation at all, and hurt my team in the process, I also feel like i had timing issues, but i don't know for sure, i think i also went afk a few times.
Hey! just a quick update... Im grandmaster now and top 400 on venom on pc globally...
If you happen to make a video... better clickbait... REVIEWING TOP 400 VENOMS GAMEPLAY...
Ayeee, congratulations! On both the rank up and the top 400. 🥳
That first minute of this video is some reason sage advice. You should clip it into a youtube short or something. People wont see that advice because they wont click on a 34min length video.
All tank mains pulling out pen n paper for this menace 🧠
what a great channel name lol ty for the series. default thinking is so interesting a concept
Wolverine is very fun to play. Getting better in ranked with him when I do play duelist
@25:48 as a wolverine player I entirely disagree. Dashing before leap makes it wayyy easier to hit. Hulk also could've jumped away here if wolv didn't dash because walking is slower. Dashing right into the leap is also really good for angling your leap to go where you want. You can see TeamCaptain (a really good wolverine player) play from main and dash behind/to the side of the enemy tank to allow himself to leap the tank into his team. I wanted to say this because I don't want anybody watching this video to be misinformed about this.
I get the sense from your coaching that you know a lot about the macro of hero shooters, but not so much about the micro of Rivals specifically. I see the same problem with Spilo's coaching that he does for Rivals sometimes. It's just unfortunate because I find a lot of what you say quite helpful so I hope you can learn more about the game to be able to give more accurate advice in the future. Hopefully this didn't come off as rude. Cheers!
Funny thing is, I actually did mention dash into leap. I said doing so is easier than walking. I can't timestamp it though but it was in the first round. 😉
I've climbed 3 accounts in each role playing all the characters (intentionally doing so before the series for this very reason). I know the micro of a lot of characters. 👀
The goal of my videos are to help players improve and climb, not to always be right or flex knowledge to feel superior.
Oftentimes in my 13+ years of being a professional esports coach, my students would know a ton more about the little things and interactions of characters because they played more of it.
That being said, there is a difference between mechanical gameplay and game knowledge. Mechanics only get you so far, game knowledge is what allows players to soar. That is why I don't focus too hard on them seeing as players improve on that passively while just playing the game.
That being said, I *still* 100% stand behind what I said in the clip and it's 1000% ok to disagree!
Every game that has a ladder, players will play differently and climb differently. Honestly, that's why games like this are so dang fun. 😵💫 There are no right/wrong ways to play.
I do, however, respect the point out and appreciate the comment. 💪
@poppinoftenwithlofton6036 Thank you very much for this reply! This gives me a lot better understanding on you as a coach, and I think it's important to let people know what gives you credibility when you're coaching. If I'd known you climbed to a certain high rank playing whatever characters then I'd be more receptive to your coaching and I think the same would for other viewers as well! Maybe a little preface at the start of these videos would be good (or maybe it's already in the desription and I'm dumb).
I unfortunately didn't remember you saying that in the first round and so now I look kinda dumb already😅.
Btw the Spilo comparison is meant to be a compliment because I've been watching him for years and learned a lot while playing Overwatch. I wonder if you could upload coaching sessions where you go over a VOD review with a viewer live like he does, because I found myself asking a lot of questions during this video. I think real time teaching with a student is important for education in general and I'd really like to see you interact with a viewer since you have great vibes!
Anyways that's my paragraph done with. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more Rivals content from you in the future!
To the point of telling people "credentials" so to speak, I used to a few years into my coaching journey. In league of legends I climbed every role to diamond. However, I guess you can say I "grew up"? 😅
I feel if people find information valuable, they will appreciate it and use it. If not they will throw it away or dismiss it. Should they want to research for more info on me, they can.
Basically, I feel putting the ball in the viewers court gives more value. Again, I'm not trying to flex knowledge to seem superior. I'm just some guy trying to help players reach their goals. 😵💫
I don't want you to listen to me because you feel I'm qualified, I want you to because you learned something or found value.
As a coach, you never want to dismiss what you don't know. Saying I'm "XYZ, etc, etc" just makes it seem like you can't be wrong and or people can't have their own opinions because you accomplished more. That's not how I roll.
As far as Spilo, I know of him from Overwatch. I coached a lot of games over the years and that was one of them for a very short time (overwatch 1 days).
Lastly, regarding coaching with a viewer. There is more rivals content in the future but I want to take it slow and make sure I know what I'm talking about.
It's a new game, no reason to come from one game as if I know a lot when I don't. I want to take my time, soak up info and slowly do things when ready. However, that is something people have asked for and it *is* in the "roadmap". 😂
No worries about writing a lot, I appreciate the time taken to do so. I usually get back later to longer ones because I want to give my full attention to who wrote it and be thoughtful in my response.
At the end of the day, thanks for your support and feel free to call out w.e you want to in videos. It's how we all learn more, including myself. 🙂
As a Venom player what I see from wolverines is that they tend to see me as the primary threat. So they hyper fixate on me and I can basically just sustain them long enough for my team to focus them down. Or I just flat out kill the wolverine because I forced him to miss time his abilities which is wolverines biggest weakness! He's only a tank shredder when you can use all three abilities on the one tank but you have to get it right! In my opinion wolverine is far more effective when you attack the backline first. Which will eventually allow you to single out the tank because he's going to be the only one left alive. The games where the wolverine does that are my hardest losses!
I think it would be interesting for you to review some of your own plays because it’s easy to say what should have been done after the fact
Here are my reviews of my own play:

I got you covered, don't worry. Hope it helps! 💪
Alright thank you, I think I’ve already improved with my positioning since this game. I think on Wolverine now my main thing to work on is not only focusing tanks because as you said I could’ve gotten many picks on dagger which would’ve helped my team more. (Also the characters i climbed with were bp luna and namor, I think I need to play wolverine more how I play bp by getting out of the fight and then going back in)
No problem at all. You got this!💪
@@poppinoftenwithlofton6036I know I have to work on positioning and disengaging but do you have any tips on how to learn these mechanics? I’m new to this genre, is it something I’ll learn over time or should I try to focus on these during games?
Usually, the easiest way to go about it is think about a goal, w.e you're trying to accomplish. Get a kill, a pick, reposition, etc.
After you have one, think about the best way to minimize damage taken while maximizing the damage given.
It also can be done by just thinking about different ways to approach each situation. From there, you'll notice a lot of different ways you could position it accomplish the same thing.
@ So think about where everyone on their team is, where everyone on my team is, find a good position (probably on high ground or some off angle) find a target, attack then disengage.
In a vacuum, yes. However, of course game to game you'll have to adapt to the situation. It's not something you do repeatedly, every moment of the game you'll have to adapt and adjust.
Through experience and gameplay you'll start to understand and see it more clearly. I'd suggest rewatching certain parts of the video and apply what you're saying to the moments I was talking about.
I think doing that would help a lot seeing as you'll start to understand it more and more as you play.
I get the tactics tho l'm still not thinking critically the way you analyze the situations. Yet.
As a Hulk main I love Wolverines that play like this...Get them in a side room Solo and they melt
10 min mark, could of also jumped straight up onto the high ground. As wolverine dont underestimate his vertical versatility
The only issue I got, if you could remove the audio humming would be great. Great vid
How did you make it so it looked like the game in the view? And they aren’t like glowing blue or red and you can’t see peoples through the walls?!
Spectate mode, can't do it in a real.
My name is Constant_Str and I’m usually tank. I’m in plat as of writing this. In this replay 10422416190 I feel like I had such a strong start! I wasn’t exactly ace, but I thought I was setting my team up for success. Absolutely heartbreaking loss by the end of it.
I should also say that I was in a queue with the C&D
