Actually I do think it adds something interesting to the video, with them actively trying to not offend anyone you're sure that the hurtful comments that might end up being said comes from a place of ignorance instead of underlying malice. There's many things you might say that could hurt other without you even realising, this video is a good way to show that even when you're trying your best you might still make mistakes and that's fine, as long as you learn from it. But it's also a good way to show that, even if it comes from a place of ignorance that doesn't mean that the person receiving it feels like it hurts any less than a malicious comment.
but that is the main point of this video, tell people not to offend, then they will be so careful about choosing words or etc but it shows how they make sure it is not offensive is the another way of offend people. I suffer from a syncope problem too. Fainting in public can be really embarrassing and scary. It's great that she has people around her who understand and can see the signs.
I also suffer from it as well, its really scary and it makes me feel really awkward, mines start with certain triggers and usually i feel really afraid or awkward when i have to explain to teachers/students why i cant see/hear certain things..it scares me because i really dont want to faint again but i feel like im being a burden in a way and that they may secretly be calling me names or something

Like "hi nice to meet you and all but i could lose consciousness and or shake violently could you please time it for me thanks." I've fainted in parking lots, stores, work school, the gym.... I've had a seizure in front of about 10 plus male acquaintances that i was playing ultimate frisbee with. Ive learned to just be okay with it. At first i tried to not say anything even though i knew it would happen...i would go sit to the side kind of thing. Then i had to learn to be my own advocate. People want to joke around and play, but if you startle me i will passout and have trouble getting my heart rate back to normal. Coworkers found out the hard way. Everytime new people come into my life i have to explain once again...dont try and scare me dont flash lights in my eyes. They think its funny until im on the floor. You got to find your people. The ones who get it. The ones who check in but dont assume you cant do the thing. The ones who change the day of bowling night so there arent strobe lights. Find your people.

Usually when i explain people look really confused and i feel kind of outcasted x.x i really seriously hope that youre ok, for me ive only ever fainted infront of my class, i was really young when it first started happening and it just started a whole mess of problems. Thankfully no one was ever rude to me about it o: there were these two incidents where people were really rude about it, but for the most part people will listen and try their best to make sure im comfortable or warn me if one of my triggers are said! i feel like the rule of thumb when you encounter someone that's different from you and want to ask them a question or do something to them, you just need to consider "if i say/do that, will i like it if someone does that back to me?" we should treat others how we would like to be treated.
That doesn't work tho honestly, because nobody can guess how sensitive the other person is or how they will take it. There are many times that someone wanted to ask me a question about my health, which I 100% don't mind since I've talked about it for 8 years, but if they don't know you, they might think ''I wouldn't mind if someone asked me about my health'' but then back out because they're not sure how sensitive the person is. Just like I'm very blunt and I wouldn't mind 99% of the things people ask me, so it just becomes a mess trying to figure out what you can ask and what you can't. And my old friend was very physical for example and in his mind he wouldn't mind if someone would punch him as a joke, which ended up with him punching me as a joke because he thought it would be fine since he doesn't mind. It's honestly easiers to wait for them to bring it up xD

@@PongoXBongo The issue what what you're saying is what my example shows, that people end up NEVER asking these questions, which imo ruins the openness of conversations and can make it awkward when you cleaely notice it in their behaviour. It's better to just ask "is this rude/bitchy" because there's a bigger chance someone would agree that someone asking them about private parts would be rude to them. But if you first ask yourself "would I mind this" and the answer is "no, to me it's fine" and THEN ask yourself "am I REALLY sure" then most people will just not ask any questions at all because they're scared of hurting people. It's honestly pretty unrealistic to do that every single time and has no point since it will probably end up with the person being scared to ask anything or awkwardly asking it and making the other uncomfortable :/ (had that a billion times before)
@@yulana990 i agree with your point that people might be too scared to offend and end up never asking, but my method is more of a general rule since it's impossible to know everyone's tolerance and exceptions, especially when you first meet a person. i guess my point is that when it comes to doing/asking something that might be too personal, i feel that as long as you are being clear and respectful as well as genuine and sincere, then even if things get awkward and uncomfortable, at least the person will know you have no ill intention.

the short guy certainly felt offended when people talked to him like a kid (sitting/crouching down to match eye level) that isn't normal and I'm pretty sure he felt uneasy/uncomfortabl a bit. I know the girls are just trying to be nice but I hope they don't do that again.
He said he didn’t mind that they were trying to make him comfortable with the eye level. What he said was uncomfortable for both parties was the fact that they made themselves visibly uncomfortable in that position & that he’s looked up to people for so long that it’s better for them to just stand.
Ok but also an interaction should feel comfortable for both parties. I’m not saying sitting down was the best solution but I don’t think it’s right for us to just say “what the heck are those two girls doing” they were clearly visibly uncomfortable and instead wanted to make it NOT seem like they were talking down on him or treating him like a child by being eye level. He didn’t seem offended at all, just noting a common behaviour.

The cosplayer was a real trooper, being able to smile through all that, very professional and her costume was so well made... The transgendered lady was really pretty and her personality was refreshing. I respect the girl with the fainting issue a lot because its not easy living with the illness itself much less having to deal with people's reactions and the short guy was just so nice and respectful. I don't have much to say about the shirtless dude except that he did a wonderful job taking care of his body, also how on earth do u do the pec thing?! The entire group was full of friendly people I'd love to meet.

i feel like the rule of thumb when you encounter someone that's different from you and want to ask them a question or do something to them, you just need to consider "if i say/do that, will i like it if someone does that back to me?" we should treat others how we would like to be treated.
That doesn't work tho honestly, because nobody can guess how sensitive the other person is or how they will take it. There are many times that someone wanted to ask me a question about my health, which I 100% don't mind since I've talked about it for 8 years, but if they don't know you, they might think ''I wouldn't mind if someone asked me about my health'' but then back out because they're not sure how sensitive the person is. Just like I'm very blunt and I wouldn't mind 99% of the things people ask me, so it just becomes a mess trying to figure out what you can ask and what you can't. And my old friend was very physical for example and in his mind he wouldn't mind if someone would punch him as a joke, which ended up with him punching me as a joke because he thought it would be fine since he doesn't mind. It's honestly easiers to wait for them to bring it up xD

@@PongoXBongo The issue what what you're saying is what my example shows, that people end up NEVER asking these questions, which imo ruins the openness of conversations and can make it awkward when you cleaely notice it in their behaviour. It's better to just ask "is this rude/bitchy" because there's a bigger chance someone would agree that someone asking them about private parts would be rude to them. But if you first ask yourself "would I mind this" and the answer is "no, to me it's fine" and THEN ask yourself "am I REALLY sure" then most people will just not ask any questions at all because they're scared of hurting people. It's honestly pretty unrealistic to do that every single time and has no point since it will probably end up with the person being scared to ask anything or awkwardly asking it and making the other uncomfortable :/ (had that a billion times before)

@@yulana990 i agree with your point that people might be too scared to offend and end up never asking, but my method is more of a general rule since it's impossible to know everyone's tolerance and exceptions, especially when you first meet a person. i guess my point is that when it comes to doing/asking something that might be too personal, i feel that as long as you are being clear and respectful as well as genuine and sincere, then even if things get awkward and uncomfortable, at least the person will know you have no ill intention.

Or at least that's what I gathered from looking up Lulu (the character she's cosplaying) from League of Legend's voicelines through different languages and the order they were put in stayed the same each change (I believe). I'll edit this comment if I find any more concrete info, but until then I'm gonna gush over all these lovely people, especially the cosplayer because I love Lulu from League of Legends, especially Star Guardian Lulu! I'm in l o v e, the cosplayer looks so pretty normally and as Lulu, and she seems like she has a lovely personality!

He said he didn’t mind that they were trying to make him comfortable with the eye level. What he said was uncomfortable for both parties was the fact that they made themselves visibly uncomfortable in that position & that he’s looked up to people for so long that it’s better for them to just stand.
Ok but also an interaction should feel comfortable for both parties. I’m not saying sitting down was the best solution but I don’t think it’s right for us to just say “what the heck are those two girls doing” they were clearly visibly uncomfortable and instead wanted to make it NOT seem like they were talking down on him or treating him like a child by being eye level. He didn’t seem offended at all, just noting a common behaviour.

The cosplayer was a real trooper, being able to smile through all that, very professional and her costume was so well made... The transgendered lady was really pretty and her personality was refreshing. I respect the girl with the fainting issue a lot because its not easy living with the illness itself much less having to deal with people's reactions and the short guy was just so nice and respectful. I don't have much to say about the shirtless dude except that he did a wonderful job taking care of his body, also how on earth do u do the pec thing?! The entire group was full of friendly people I'd love to meet.
