Hey Lead 👋🏽 you know I’ve been following you for years. Because of you I have planted Almond, Avocado, Mango, pomegranate, Grapefruit, Apple, Blood Orange, and Sour Sop trees. And I have 2 grapevines. Thanks for all you do🙏🏽
I’ve been watching you. I am so proud of you with your upcoming camping trip. I sure would like you to have you talk about your camping essentials on my gear show if you had time.
I had an epiphany when I got my first harvest after years of not caring for plants that might help convince people to go through with trees that take longer to produce. Gardening and caring for plants isn’t just caring for the plant. It’s caring for your future self. And one day future you will be present you, and you’ll be very grateful to past you for investing in now. It’s a form of self care. Today’s harvest is a gift from your past self. The seeds you plant today are a gift to your future self. So plant that pecan tree and let it take years to produce. That first pie you pull from the oven with the pecans off that tree will be an amazing gift.
Needed this. As a gardener of 6+ years watching tubers show pristine gardens makes me want my garden to be or look a certain way. Had to catch myself. My garden isn’t immaculate- it produces the food I need and more, w/o pesticides, crazy materials, or a ton of effort. People out here grafting tomatoes, hyping expensive garden tools, just “selling” anything…
Hey Lead, I totally agree with you about the peach tree! Bought a peach tree from Stark Bros in 2019, only have fertilized 1-2 times, and I've been getting tons of peaches for the last 3 seasons. And that tree is approx. 15-20 ft high now! I got so many peaches had about 5-6 branches to break!
I have watched you several times I live in 9a zone and I plant accordingly I have summer fruits and veggies and I have fall! I live in a small apartment with a lot of foot traffic but my patio is private so I mix my food with my tropicals so it just looks like a bunch of plants unless you know what you are looking at I also companion plant with flowers that bugs don't like I don't fertilize! I have blueberries figs bell peppers yellow squash cabbage cauliflower broccoli strawberries asparagus lemons bananas I am retired so I plant from seed and direct sow! I am going enough food for me to stay feed! Lol! Charlie Brown tree! I have some of those and they produce! Keep doing what you do! I love your show!
Thanks for talking about this, because I have to keep telling people to stop being so scared to break the rules because those rules don’t apply to a small garden.
Thank you, sir! 🧑🏾🌾🌱 As of ‘24 I’m a new backyard gardener in MS and I truly appreciate you because you’re honest and have so much knowledge! You have blessed hands, sir! #BackYardGardener 🌱🍃🌿
Right! I needed this because I've wanted to grow more but was discouraged about my current space situation following guidelines that really aren't meant for me 🤦🏾♀️
I bought a bonanza and a bonfire patio peach last summer. This year i had so many peaches, the bonfire limb broke. I purchased a blackberry bush and a jujube about 2 month ago and today I saw blossoms on them. They are all in containers. I dont expect any fruits this year from those but i expect a good harvest next year. Ive also eaten a ton of ground cherries and the last time only time I sowed ground cherry was 2021.
Thanks so much for keeping it real Im in SC also and let my garden show the naysayers whats growing my Okra was taller than my brother and the shock on his face was priceless😆😁😁😁😁
900th like!! keep spitting out the truth. im a young 25 and your content has gotten me into botany and gardening. Thanks for the time you put into these.
Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge...". - the statement is SO true, applicable to our lack of understa ding about God, this world, our own bodies! Society (including myself) have become so lazy in this day and age where we are inundated with information.. we wait to see what someone else is saying before we look for ourselves and act with knowledge.
My location is the desert of NM. Our temp today is 95 & tonight, 65. This week we are predicted to have rain off & on through the weekend, unheard of, but appreciated by me. The weather is definitely changing where I live. I garden on a quarter acre, concentrate my fruit & nut trees, grown close together for production & shade canopies & it works for me.
I’m a farmer and homesteader and started out as a gardener like most. Lead is right, those numbers are often for farmers that have to deal with higher maintenance for high production, uniformity and large equipment
Having a garden to work in is mad therapeutic if your mad and angry or sad and the plants seem to know and thrive when they know you care about them and spend time with them
Hi Lead, Thanks for the amazing information. I’m interested to start a backyard gardening . Can I do the survival plants in a Zone 7b… I’m in Long Island NY.
Bought me a Celeste fig tree from the flea market and it is over 5 ft tall and covered in fruit. The trunk is at least 2 inches around. Cost 35.00 i will be cutting some starts off of it also in the fall.
I'm in California planting trees in a buckets! Which I get free from my job! It's hot in sac, ca should I move my peach and citrus in the shade under a big tree or bring in house limited in space.
Someone told me to randomly plant Rosemary around the garden all over. They supposedly don’t like rosemary. So you know what? I am about to test that theory out. Suppose to be a natural repellent. They don’t like the smell.
Try Stan McKenzie in Scranton South Carolina I went 2 his farm 2 years ago he has a Carolina lime tree growing in the ground he picked a lime off the tree for me to try best slime I ever had
Lead , I did my mulberry cuttings like you did in the cups. Question did you cut a hole in the clear cup ? We got a heavy rain and they flooded will they be ok?

I planted 2 apple trees, 2 years ago about 4 ft apart. That way they can grow close together, touch one another and be happy.

yes. we have them on our website easilygrowngarden.com
Look how trees grow in nature they are somewhat close together.
