  • Sarajewo is the new BBD delay module from XAOC Devices. With the clock sync, individual tap outputs and over 1 second of delay time it offers quite an expanded workflow compared to e.g. a stompbox. The tone section acts like a filter and it significantly alters the dynamics and feedback behaviour of the delay - which can easily spiral out of control if you’re not careful.
    Patch notes:
The synth voice is uBraids triple sine, crossfaded with 0-Coast oscillator into its Dynamics circuit, modulated with noise and Contour section, sequenced by Rozeta Bassline on the iPad.
Doepfer matrix mixer takes Sarajewo’s delay taps and the dry signal and routes them into XOH.
XOH provides stereo image, taps 1 & 2 go into left and right channels, tap 3 and dry signal are in the center.
Batumi ch. 1 is sending triangle for the classic modulated delay sound in the first part of the video, ch. 2 sends square LFO the second part where the delay time is clocked.
WMD/SSF Blender ch. 1 attenuates CV from Batumi for Sarajewo’s time, ch. 2 mixes the oscillators, ch. 3 mixes Batumi LFOs.
Disting works as a reverb fed with mixed delay taps into external feedback return on the Sarajewo near the end of the clip.
Audio recorded from XOH into AUM on the iPad, no post-processing except normalization.

Fascinating patch notes- especially the bit about going out of XOH into AUM on the iPad. Which interface are you using, and how are you getting around the latency issue? My go-to interface for everyday use is the Zoom U24, as although it has only two ins it has four outs. However, the latency is shocking- not so much milliseconds as a significant fraction of a second when using AUM. I also have two Steinberg interfaces which are a little better for latency- still more than 0.1s though- but each have only two outs. I’d love to know what you’re using, because I cannot detect any latency here at all.

Thanks for this. anymore of the Sarajevo would be much appreciated! Might have overtaken Magneto as my first delay purchase.

damn that thing sounds good. I have a few delays antis thing wins on character. The decays sound very nice. Maybe it's just your patching, but this delay sounds kind of special. I need to get som XAOC modules.

nice vid! does the delay time of the module track the delay time CV input exactly, or does it smooth/slew it?

Not a lot out there about this module. It's kind of gone under the radar. No reviews and not many demos. Sounds great
