A few patches with the beautiful BBD Delay from Xaoc Devices.
0:00 Intro
2:19 Tap tempo
9:20 Free running
13:40 Feedback loop
19:10 Modulating time
22:00 Bubbly Plastikman territory
26:34 Outro
My current favourite Sarajewo patch is Befaco FX Boy and XAOC Koszalin frequency shifter in the feedback path. Lots of fun to be had...
Crunch for days !
Love the Robert Hood t-shirt.
Also, fnck the YT algo for not putting this on my mainpage the second it came out. Love your videos 🧡
I need the UA-cam face thumbnail !
That moment when the 4/4 drops in @26:20, longest build up ever
Very nice overview!!
Ahah yes and it doesn’t stay that long ! Wanted to do something a bit more sparse for a change
It doesnt do so much but what it does it does very well.
totally agree.
Nice that you are back. Like every time good Demo. It would be interesting against the Joranalogue Delay 1.
I've been super tempted about this one too ! Looks really good for sound design.
Joranalogue Delay 1 and the OAM Time Machine are really shining in the moment.
hah I just responded to one of your post in RE-909 group :) i recognized the setup., Sarajewo is nice got one in black. Btw the store story i think it happens to most of us. :)))
im so much in love with your sound. you can dance to pretty much any of your vids, even if its just a demonstration of some hardware haha. do you ever make modular techno in the box 100% vst? i would love to know what type of sound generators and effects you would use to get that sound. greetings from GER
Thank you ! I have a couple of videos where I make similar loops with just Syncussion samples; 100% in the box
Thanks for the videos they are great
thanks for watching :)
Best delay! My fave!
So funny the store experience. I visited Schneidersladen on holiday last year - and the amount of shit I was able to produce lol. Very recognisable to your experience. Interesting, the BBD whine, I’m really not fussy to noise like other people are, but this high pitched whine I’m not sure I could deal with.
ahaha every time ! I happened to me at schneiders too. I'm not too fussy about noise either, honestly in context it's not really noticeable I would say.
Yeah most bbds that go faster than 200ms or so tend to be lowpassed pretty heavily to eliminate the whine. I think this has several bbds in series to get the long times it gets but the whine is really audible on this circuit.
You keep doing my fave modules dude. Come to LA!😊
ahah I'd love too ! Love LA
Analog baby!
Very good demo! Loved the jamming at the end as usual.
Just a question: around 3:27 (also in some parts of the video) i hear some high pitched noise within a "bleed" of bassline. Is it normal? I know that there can be some leakage is it that obvious in sm-1?
Thank you!
I’ve read on modwiggler that some people experience that with Sarajewo. Apparently it can pick the sound of oscillators via the bus board. I’ll try to move it around the case see if it changes anything. It’s pretty faint but I can hear it too.
@@LucasMarchal thank you for your response ^^
Do you share your actual Modulargrid link somewhere?
this new case is always changing so not really; not that it's a secret though, it's just that I keep deleting and making new ones so the link would be dead quickly.
That high-pitched sound is surprisingly loud. I have tinnitus and am old enough to have some hearing loss at the upper end of the range and that whine sounds really loud to me. I have a few BBD units and none of them do this. Otherwise this module sounds lovely.
it is a bit loud. I may not entirely be the fault of the module, my power supply might be a cause too.
@@LucasMarchal The clock is mostly ultrasonic, and it becomes slightly audible only at the maximum delay length. So in your example this is not the clock from Sarajewo, but perhaps some amplified whine from the busboard.
@@pe00000001 yes I'm pretty sure that's it. Sarajewo picks it up where other modules don't, I need to play around with the placement in the case.
@LucasMarchal Ah yes, perhaps power supply is the cause here. I know I get that if I don’t use isolated power lines for guitar pedals, which is fine for jamming and practicing but not so good for recording. Have you tried a different power supply now?
@@elitestarquake3597 I have and the noise is gone so that was definitely my power supply singing.
hi! would love some feedback on your Footprints 01s!
One broke (the digital side), had to pay 500€ for repair and the second one broke just six months after so I'm not very happy with them at the moment...
@@LucasMarchal and soundwise how do you find them for the kind of music you produce?
@@toumbas they are really good honestly, they go low enough for the kind of music I do; and the highs are crystal clear.
@@LucasMarchal thank you mate!
Am I crazy or do you have short grey Verbos cables
you're not crazy ! I think they do red and grey in short size
How would you compare this to the DPLR? Preference between them?
The DPLR doesn't have much control, it's a PT delay with all the amazing crunch and dirt that it entails. I loved it and wish I hadn't sold it. always handy to have. By comparison the Sarajewo is LUSH. It distorts beautifully and the open feedback loop is a huge bonus.
BTW your title is wrong :D It's called Sarajewo
wooops, thank you for spotting it, should be good now !
