The HK version in my opinion is the best, and saddest. The crowd singing makes it so much better. The day the dream of a free and democratic Hong Kong died! 💔
I think mine is the one from 1880, recorded on the wax cylinders. I only discovered it after looking up the history of wax cylinders while playing The Room Three video game. It’s a piece of history that you stop and think wow, I am hearing a recording. From 160 something years ago. And it’s just. Available to listen to anytime. That’s what kinda brings it into full on beauty for me. Like a slice of time captured. It’s also why the first two clips resonate well. One, historical moment and one heartfelt emotional moment. Nicely done.
