Seems it all depends on where the team is on the ladder will determine the charge.
I don't know how everyone missed on what Nelson Asofoa Solomona did in the Wayne Egan tackle. As Wayne was brought to ground, Nelson rested his forearm on Wayne's jaw. As that happened, Nelson kicked his own legs out behind him. Thus he rested his whole body weight on Wayne's jaw. Nelson is an absolute grub
Yeah, can't believe the media missed Nelson kicking his legs out. That's what caused the damage.
@@FitzRabbits Precisely
I'm starting to think Luke Patten gave up on the Bulldogs a few years back and started supporting the Storm. What other explanation is there?
Theres a difference only when you belong to the panthers and the storm
Yeah, or the Warriors. The fact both of those grub acts were committed against a team the NRL hates to its core might have influenced them. I'm so done with NRL, the bias against the Warriors, after all they've done, it just disgusts me.
Well that just makes you sound stupid, seeing Cleary go 6 weeks for nothing, guy wasn't even hurt or rattled - feeling stupid.
Like the roosters and manly in 80s and early 90s
If this was the other way around with a Warriors players smashing a Storm player in the face, the Warriors player would've got six weeks.
The Warriors always get shafted.
Just get rid of the judiciary altogether and up the fines
The refs need to be held accountable for there decisions, There needs to be a review with the outcomes to be reported publicly on Monday morning every week the same as the MRC.
No integrity, no consistency = less fans
I stopped watching union decades ago because of the way the refs handled scrums. I now only watch highlights of league because the full game just annoys me. It is just one massive cockfest. I will probably take up basketweaving.
How bad do they ref scrums in union ay
Not sure who's more inconsistant, the refs or Parra?
- Parra fan here
The refs, jussst
Hahaha thats a good one... So Who do you think will win this weekend, Eagles or Parra?
@@mdsevara Yeah, our track record against Manly isn't the best. And they are at home. No Moses either to part the Red Sea. But still quietly optimistic for a W.
The Refs. By light-years.
Yessss agree, I'm so confused. Its so confusing as everything is different week to week that its frustrating to watch. I use to watch every game every week and now I don't even watch 1 game.
Things don't change from week to week. They change from match to match
It's so refreshing when every panel member can have input into the discussion without an interruption and dominance of the discussion by Paul big mouth Gallen, more show's without Paul Gallen are the go !
still cant understand why ch9 thought gallen would be suited to media stuff and shows like this
I mean Phil Gould cuts of locky all the time
Nelson: I didnt elbow him, I only put abit of force on him
MRC: well then, that different, no further action
Everyone: what?
How many times has NAS done something like this during the season though? The amount of times I've seen him get away with grubby acts like this is ridiculous. He's as bad as Elbows-Hargreaves
The thing is with the grub Nelson is that he effectively rests his body weight on Wayne's jaw. Because Nelson kicks his legs out behind him. He had only one intention
opposition have a free license to attack warriors players heads, its so noticeable..referee's condone it by not acting on it so it gives the grubs confidence, Nelson knew he'd face no action.
same when Kaffusi dropped the elpow and knocked someone out cold, got nothing, the people at the top need to storm to win ? why is it betting companies
Its because they're melbourne based.
Having Ex - Footballers in the judiciary, refereeing etc is completely symbolic…. Their roles are performative. They’re coached by non- footballers on what to do and say like puppets. Their football nous has been stripped and coached out of them when it comes to sensible decisions.
Exactly, Luke Phillips gave up reffing because they kept telling him he didn't blow enough penalties.
Nrl ruling system and consistency is a joke
storm players are grubs, the fact that none of them faced any time off the field is a god dam joke
For years, they have always had extra time in the tackle. 3rd player in up high to slow the tackle and play the ball. It's infuriating as a fan to see teams get special treatment.
They've been a blight on the game since around the time one C. Bellamy came in. Winning at the cost of integrity should be their motto.
As for Asofa Solomona, dude leads with elbows to the head on most carries, he's an absolute grub. And nothing is ever done
2 players are having a cocaine party and only serve a one game ban what's wrong with eye gouging and elbowing it's the green light Storm..no wonder they were so upset when they got busted for salary cap cheating
Never liked the storm only cronk and slater
Never liked the storm only cronk and slater
JWH and NAS both should have Copped a few weeks
He plays for the storm, they're an untouchable club in the game and clearly for the judiciary committee. Especially this time of the year. He should have been out for several weeks minimum. Dale shouldn't have been off at all and jarred at least a week.
Poor old Jack and Marge
The difference is Melbourne lead a very charmed life. A warriors player would have been cited.
End of the day safety is a priority. Simple. Rugby union have made all these changes wasn't popular but people got over it. Second part is litigation: if we don't protect the players it would be liability cases left right and centre all that leads to economic factors. We need to have game continue in the next 100 years
So sick of hearing "it's not his character" U do the crime, expect the time..
Everyone loves when Tino gets a finger to the eye! We need more of it! Actually, give players 50k for a reward for doing Gods work!!!
Still salty bro?🤣
4:01 Nelson's feet are off the ground. His elbow is on the chin of Wade and his body weight is forced on to Wade's head as he lands.
And if thay got up and play the ball we wouldn’t be talking about it
Yep, its frikkin madness, is how I describe t rules of this great game. Gus is spot on.
Replaying the footage, the NAS tackle is fine and I see what the judiciary mean. It *looks* like his forearm or elbow are smashed into Egan's face, but they're not. His head is in-between the arms. It's a forceful tackle but nothing illegal.
But as Wayne goes to ground, Nelson kicks his legs out behind himself & effectively rests his body weight on Wayne's jaw. Nelson's a grub
Cleary soiled in the Press Conference about, the head Clash, Made Dale get two weeks.... How good is Karna 🤣😂🤣🤣 now his son gets what he deserves...
The MRC has got alot to answer for ..😡🤬
They asked what the difference was with the finger in the eye and the nas decision, it’s quite simple the Warriors the nrl are happy to have them there but don’t really want them to succeed. Just like inviting someone to a party and not letting them inside typical bad mannered aussies
Eye gouging is a new level in its own.
Why can't we just have a standardised process like rugby.
Has head contact occured?
Was there foul play?
What's the degree of danger?
Any mitigation?
Literally black and white. And have something similar for hip drops, cannonballs, etc.
Because rugby sucks to watch.
should be only two players max per tackel
Luv Gus! “Make a cuppa Alice?”
It’s like what’s happening in life. Over regulated, litigious, nothing makes sense
If the fans turned away and watch other sports then the NRL will takes the fans seriously...
But but but didn’t Fittler say he didn’t want our best players out of the game, so isn’t he advocating for different treatment as well?
Seems to me the MRC over complicate things. 99% of the general public see these incidents and think they deserve time on the sideline. Contact with the face on the ground was clearly a discussion point a few years ago and I thought we got it out of the game. I don't believe a forearm or palm in the face is necessary in making a tackle and is rubbish. Should be a penalty minimum. End of story you know what your doing.
It seems "Intent" isn't been accounted for
finucane 2 weeks for a head clash and people say injury shouldn't play a part but that's why finucane's suspended because of the laceration. Carrigan should miss the rest of the season if hastings does because of his negligence he broke hastings leg because of this rubbish hip drops because most of these "first graders" have no idea how to tackle. while big nelson dislocates a jaw and breaks teeth nothing. brain dead flops in the mrc, judiciary meanwhile jwh gets cited and a monetary fine. gus is spot on, they ref differently there's no consistency, time to get rid of the old has beens in the bunker and referee's and time for new blood.
start rewarding great tackling technique, around the legs like kids are taught at under 6's and reward defending players with allowing players to stay on top for a good 3-4 seconds instead of immediately being told to get up. then they watch "the best" in first grade implement wrestling and other tactics which kids try to replicate and cause more injuries. this is why there's more injuries in first grade and junior levels because the governing nrl body are brain dead
NRL needs refs from Super Rugby. When you watch Super Rugby, you know when a sin bin is coming and it always does come. The refs just call tries without a video ref. Much better reffing in Rugby Union.
I’m not a fan of Union but the refs also command a lot more respect from the players. Rugby league used to be good but now it’s turning into football where players swamp the ref as soon as a decision is made.
No we don't. The amount of forward passes and knock ons in rugby that dont get pulled up is ridiculous.
@@davidtaliai996 so they’d fit into the NRL seamlessly
@@davidtaliai996 Who cares about knock ons and forward passes? They are always going to exist and a lot will be missed. I want them to be better at big decisions that make or break games.
Nelson's tackle was just a hard tackle, maybe a bit grubby. If he done that to Hargreaves or Fifita we would all be saying how good that tackle was. Carrigans tackle extremely bad, and he knew exactly what he was doing...they all do. That hip drop tackle was worse than latrells tackle on manu. Should be 10 weeks minimum. Latrell got suspended for so long because of the injury and so should carrigan.
Nelson does this all the time. He's just as bad as Elbows-Hargreaves and Fifita.
I'm a broncs fan but there's no defending Carrigan. That tackle was ugly as hell, wouldn't be surprised if he gets 4 weeks
Gus has had 1000 pokes to the eye, he'd know
So that’s why he looks like he’s been stung a million times 😂
Keep our game simple please
No wonder why fans are leaving the sport
As soon as the word 'intent' is inserted into any kind of charge, sporting or criminal, the whole premise of the charge starts to look wobbly. To prove intent is to drift off into the world of seers, physics and witch doctors and people like my ex-wife, who completely convinced herself that she always knew what I was thinking. ( She never got it right once in almost 20 years! )
Nobody can read minds and to assume you can read the mind of a league player and say what his intentions are is to verge on either breathtaking arrogance or mind-numbing stupidity.....or both. It seems that instead of dealing with each charge based on what's in front of their eyes, these people want to base their decisions on studying chicken entrails or tea leaves or Tarot cards or something equally dumb and more importantly, equally inaccurate!. 🤣
I guess I'm mind-numbingly stupid, and breathtakingly arrogant. (I know i dont get it right all t time). However, intent isn't that hard to see. When we see eyes, face, hand positioning, body motion, etc. Finished with outcome. Plus slow motion, from 5-6 angles. Why t hell r players putting there hands on faces anyway? That's a rhetorical question.
I hate seing these old dinousours treat the young guys like Burton, Fulton etc like crap. Show some good sportsmanship boys, c'mon..
brace needs to go..seeing that grin on his face week to week. get rid of him
The NRL is just a part of Australian society, everything’s the same. Over analysed, over governed, fat cat bureaucracy, political grand standing, woke and then there’s a bit of football played.
Patton, that's the biggest joke. he was the worst in the video box and now in charge, old saying - do a crap job and get promoted works
Gus is out of touch with the purpose of the rules, which is to stop the head injuries which are causing significant long term problems for players. Whether it is intentional or not does not matter at all. It is about protecting players heads etc
get sterlo back
When these guys say we want the ex players with the foot ball IQ to be on these panels and then they come out with strange decisions is because V'LANDYS tells them what he wants and they do it or they lose their nice cushy well paid job, THAT'S WHY. SACK V'LANDYS NOW!
brace belongs in horse racing or something
gus. get of the panel. and onto the board. fix the game.
thats the biggest joke ive every heard Gus on the Board - No NRL within few years
fulton just got smoked by jwh
Gus blaming the refs for the hip drop tackle is laughable
Gus is just playing to the audience
@@canwelook hes kinda got a point though. the prosecution argued that the tackle was complete so there was no need for carrigan to go in, but if that was the case then why didnt the ref just call held? one thing ive noticed is that the refs can be very inconsistent with how long it takes for them to call held, which can result in the third man going in to slow it down.
@@abbyrose6660 Taking simplistic, black and white positions that target the emotions of the viewer, while criticising the game's management, gets a bit tedious after a while.
In this case a tackle went awry, the tackler was responsible, the player got injured as a result. It doesn't need to be more complex than that.
@@abbyrose6660 A third man going in is not the issue. It is the way he went in that led to the suspension.
When to call held is ALWAYS going to be subjective, always context-dependent, always a matter of judgement. No amount of whinging by Gus or anyone else is going to change that.
Fk the game
The game is garbage these days, can't watch it for more than 5 minutes
Penaltyyy Broncos
OVER PAYED
Iv said it for a very long time
The game of rugby league is utter complete dogshit now..
Its not rugby league now ffs..
Its changed...
Call it a new name..
Heres one!!
Modified league...
Cos its been motified to another game..its half touch football half i dont know even what the game is.
But please dont say its rugby league.
Cos itd bloody not...
What do u expect the guy is a heavy weight making a tackle on a light weight, that's what the warriors get trying to milk every single penalty for a cheap advantage.
Player from Sydney club: Penalty
Player from QLD: 12 wks
Maybe league should attract less thugs and more actual rugby players. This ain't Taekwondo.
Taekwondo is for pansies, ? no grubs there. but true we need more player less grubs, but a guy 6,6 130 kgs that can run, he gets the job, they will teach him later.
