@@rahmiozkan0316 I’d say 7, 1, 9. You can get by with a decent 9. Who just tackles and passes like Jason hethrington. But if your half can’t organise or kick in attack or if your fullback can’t organise in defence and be safe under the highball you’re pretty much stuffed. A great 9 can win you a comp. A basic one won’t cost you. But a great 7 or 1 wins comps and basic ones lose em.

One thing is certain in life - nothing sticks to Gus. If a team is under-performing he is never to blame in any way. He endures through occasional solid decision-making, wolf-like survival instincts, an excellent understanding of the media and force of personality. For most people in the NRL Gus' public persona is just too big of an obstacle to overcome and they visibly shrink in his presence. But those who see through his performance and refuse to be bullied often prove him completely wrong. Cleary cut him down above the knees and seems far better off now than when he worked with Gus.

My dad said to me recently when discussing teams that were struggling and whether or not this
or that coach was any good and he said " there are a lot of good assistant coaches out there as well as assistant administrators, but that doesn't mean they are going to handle the top job as successfully". I believe he is right as I believe Adam Obrien at the Knights could be thrown into the same basket as Trent Barret.

Started coaching league at 20 after playing for over ten years, now 41. The biggest difference between playing and coaching is as coach you’ll often get all the criticism when you’re running cold but none of the credit when you’re firing on all cylinders (the players will get the bulk of that).
What helped me weather it was putting aside the emotion behind that dynamic and focusing on my own coaching mantra:
      1. Always be the most prepared.
      2. Improve the individual so the he can improve the team.
      3. Make them beat us (do not beat ourselves.)
If I felt like the wheels were wobbling I could almost always notice I was lacking in one of those three areas.

He was given the chance to resigned before being sacked. He was given a $500,000 payout.
For a coach to say they have no answer's is a death sentence for any possible future role as a head coach. Any role that becomes available only doe's so due to the team going poorly. So how would one get a job if one says they have no answers?

Gould is only in it for himself and will take anyone down to get his way.
Has plenty of form for this.
Thinks he is bigger than the game

So let me get this straight. People are blaming Gus because a coach with a 12.5% win percentage is now jobless. Regardless of whether Gus caused this or not, its a good thing. TB was incompetent, incompetent people need to leave.

There are quite a few anomalies here. Gus seems to have had no power to save Trent yet implies he will be the one making the decision on the new coach. How does that work? Also the softest interview I’ve ever seen courtesy of Nine. Trent is better off out of there. Go to a club that values openness, honesty and respect.

Gus is not being honest. The truth is Trent had a gun to his head. Either he resigned or he'd be sacked. This way he could have an exit with his dignity intact.

Gus is so full of it. He said Barrett would be there way after he was gone 2 weeks ago, and now Barrett is gone and he's still there. Barrett was forced to resign or he'd be fired. He was given a golden handshake to go quietly and to make no fuss. If you want to fix the Bulldogs get rid of Gus. Panthers did and look where they are now.

Gus has been there for like a season. You are crazy if you think he’s a problem there. If anything, he’s their only hope. Gus implemented a lot of penriths youth football focus and player management, those things take time so it’s actually fair to say Gus deserves a lot to credit for where Penrith are at now.
