In today's video I try do a cool paintjob I saw on the cover of HotRod Magazine. It was on this cool late 60's Camaro with a blower. I thought why not take all the cool vibes from the Camaro and throw them on a Shortbox Squarebody instead!

That turned out awesome. As far as another casting, man, that fade would look killer on most. And that’s your fav beer in there for sure lol. The colored windshields are terrible for us customizers.

I have to say that truck's original paint job looked GOOFY! The end result, however, is an absolute work of art! What would that rainbow effect look like on a Corvette? (And of course, would it look better on an older 'Vette or a newer one?)

As for possible full on rainbow cars, maybe some big 60s/70s station wagon.
The only other thing that I can think of right now might be a lead sled of some kind but white pinstripes added to the overall rainbow paint scheme.
This truck is going to be hard to beat for beauty, though!

Years ago, one of the craziest fads in South Texas was full size pickups with rainbow color paint jobs, dropped with ground effects and short fat tires. If my memory serves me correct, it was a company named ChooChoo Customs.

I think something like that would look great on something long and sleek like '70's era muscle. Something like a Challenger, Charger, 'Cuda, Dart, or a Roadrunner would look really good decked out like that.

I'd go with the 1970 Plymouth superbird.
The big spoiler on the back would play well with this fade.
The A Team van and 8 crate both have a lot of real estate to showcase this paintjob as well.

Great work ! Really worth doing a full car like this. Probably the longer the model, the better the paint job result.
The windshield works surprisingly well reminds me of the old gassers and funny cars with colored windows, and as far as what car to do it on I'd say a large casting something with a lot of area
How about a dairy delivery with some crazy fading and graphics? That would be sweet. And you got plenty of space to play on that casting!

I've seen people make their own windows from clear pop bottles. They already have a bit of a curve, perfectly clear, and cost you nothing.

I absolutely love the fades you do and this is one of the best so far. Great build. I would still like to see a sunset fade on a custom surfer van. Awesome!
You should look into building a simple soda blaster for removing paint. They are dead simple to build a small one that would take seconds to strip a hot wheels down to metal. I built a big one I use on full size car parts in my shop.

Hey there. Thanks for the awesome tutorials. You are not the only one that gets stuck with large amounts of metal to eat away to open a hole or vent, we all feel your pain. But next time, try to get a hold of dremel part 199. It will chew through that stuff quick smart. Word of warning, it wont break apart like a sanding disc, but it bites like a b#%ch and loves to run, so avoid using near surfaces you need unblemished.

That paint came out great! if I had anything to suggest, it would be either a bed liner or cover in a contrasting color (black, white).. just something to break up that big bin of silver. Looks fab tho!
