True story. Even in a battle: T-34-85 survives a direct hit by me with a Tiger H1 about 10meters against his weakspot between turret and chassis without any dmg. Stalinium was founded by WG and Gajin continue improving^^' I mean i like WT a lot. But such cases are happens to many times in compare to other tanks/nations. And the angeled armour was effective but not THAT good... more the numbers of russian tanks.

@@joshuaday4617 You're right. Know this circumstances from WoT by Wargaming which I have played before. And in compare to WG Gajin does a better job in my opinion. I remember on times in WoT where I shoot an T-50 right in the engine with American T-29 about few meters and the T-50 didn't become even slower ^^' And meanwhile I have learn more about ammunition in WT. So I can better deal with Russian bias. Like I said before, this game is fun and I like it to play. Sometimes better, sometimes not so well.

Overtiered by default, in some cases ridiculously (IS3 fighting against tanks from 70ies, makes it armour just useless, so the tank becomes just a slower IS2). To add to that, ridiculous repair costs for T-44s and T-54s

Yup the go so much faster..and normally the team your against gets their quicker to the objective a.b.c. points ..that's why I play realistic..it's easier plus you can can hide and snipe your enemy in realistic as to what real tank battle is really about In real life..ppl complain that ppl camp..GUESS WHAT! That's exactly how tanks and what tanks are supposed to do in real life..if that's not your cup of tea ide suggest cod or something easier..but not here..this is war thunder and tank life is so shady and out witting your enemies..that's war thunder life.lol..great vid btw..
Maybe because in the game development, they actually did attach jets and turned them invisible & without the noise. I used something similar in Gmod when turning car to lowrider.

@TROUBLINGBIRD 2103 It is at first, but once you get used to it the gun is fairly accurate. It can be used to snipe halfway across maps even. Moving targets can remain difficult though.

Don’t worry, I’ll give you the short story: so Soviet technology in war thunder has certain natural *advantages in warthunder that it didn’t or wouldn’t have in real life. These advantages sometimes make them seem OP or really lucky. This is called “russian bias”. Its the idea (usually in told in jest) that Gajin is biased to the Russian tech and makes it unfairly lucky or strong.
*for example soviet aircraft in ww2 were designed for low altitude flying, and much more turn and burn. Compared to, for example, American aircraft which was often designed for very high altitudes and dogfighting with lots of room. A P-47 is great in a dive from 30,000 feet, but when all the dogfighting is happening in a small center of the map, at 5000 feet, it looses all advantages except firepower. It has great mobility for where it was designed to fight, but at low altitude the soviet fighters or anything else more maneuverable and designed for low altitude will eat it for breakfast.

My favorite "era" for the Soviet tree would be about BR 3.3 to 5.3. I enjoy the T34 series tanks and they suit my play style very well.

Why Soviets? of all the nations I tried at starting BR's the BT-5 and BT-7 just had me hooked out the gate. Man I love those tanks, especially the BT-7 which has stayed in my line up all the way to 4.3.

It also depends on wich kind of guns your facing, for example, playing in a t34 you should angle your aromur to panzers and americans
If your fighting a stug on frontal, try angling your tank at about 20*, and dont forget to aim for the gun

After seeing a lot of videos with Russian tanks and after, in the War thunder, my tiger tank got acquainted with IS2, I realized I must play with Russian tanks. The biggest tanks I have in the Russian army are KV2 and IS1. It's very relaxing to play with them and admit, the Russian bias does good work:

Soviet tanks (same as germans and most americans) have explosive fillers which is a huge advantage over eg. the british tanks. The armor is also slightly better, but there is no bias.
Compare BRs of different tanks from various countries and their actual years of service. Soviet tanks in the game are overtiered by default. If they perform slightly better on average, this is because they have slightly better armour despite overtiering, and better overall balance- for example almost all have good reverse speed, while many British tanks reverse 1mph which is a big problem in many combat situations.

My highest rank tank is the version of the KV-1 at rank 4.3, but I play all nations, and will play the Italian tanks when the tech tree for them becomes available, even though my father always told me that Italian tanks had one forward gear and five reverse gears!
I haven't reach the fourth tier.
But my favorite is the third one, it has a great sneeki breeki tank and the one hit beast.
My most hated tier is the second one, my armor doesn't work
That snow map at night is so lovely, why do we have to get that once a year and see the sunny game all the time? I know it's because you can see the vehicles better, but we can already admire them in the hangar. Please increase the likelihood of tough weather conditions as it makes the game so much more interesting and fun

So I've done some research, and there was an AEC Mark 3 British Armored car that was armed with a 75mm or 7.5 cm cannon. We currently have the AEC mark 2 in-game, and I was wondering if you guys could add this to the game. This can counter the 75mm puma tank destroyer and the early KV-1 tanks. Upvote this so that they can see this comment. The mark 3 AEC armored car with the 75mm cannon entered service in 1944 and fought until 1945. I chose to play Soviets because of the BT-7. Fast, maneuverable, and able to be lethal to even some higher BR tanks. I am still using it at BR 3.7 and I have even seen it used higher.

i started war thunder this year and i chose the ussr because its well known for its tanks and the t-34 and for me russian tanks is superior
i love Tier 3, because we got Kv-1 zis-5, the armor is strong enough to survive the battle

The SU-85M is by far the best tank destroyer for its BR in my experience. Coupled with the T-34-85 (D-5T) and the IS-1 of course.
Bad news: KV2 should be at tier 2, same as KV1.
I play soviet because it is so satisfying with the APHE, I mostly enjoy first ere since it is way too fun.
I started with German's tank which I enjoyed a lot, particularly in simulator battle. Although, the waiting queue was really annoying for late tier so I decided to Play soviet, then. I fell in love with the soviet tanks. The t-50 and t-34 are just amazing... not mentioning the IS-6. I get why some people argue that soviet tanks and planes are op but it"s a statement I can't agree with. It's easier to play soviet because using a shock doctrine is well suited for this nation which is not for the German and British. Looking backward, I should have started with the soviets; it"s a great nation to start with. Sadly My computer broke down and I'm currently building a new one. GOSH I can't wait to be back in the action. War Thunder is my favourite game.
Every tank is unique in every way they all have there play styles no tanks are bad they were built in there own ways made for derffrent reasons

The BT-5 seems to suit my play style. Snipe when I feel like it, but blitz my way into the battle.
Let’s talk about parts and FPE war thunder
My ERA is 1944 and 1980
all those tanks go hand in hand in the russian line up, I use the T-34-85(D-5T) even in Top Tier just to take out most players, still, T-34-85 does the job against Top Tier
1st advise: get premium account, 2nd advise get a high tier tank to grind the tech tree , and you are good to go
3rd advise: Buy IS-6
Kenny Lin, 4th advice: Use the GE of the IS6 pack to make the crew great like Stalinium beards.
This will probably be a great series, however..
Starting with Soviet vehicles seems kind of off since it is, without a doubt, the most brain-dead nation to play. The most straight-forward and easiest vehicles to play (until around top tier) and literally anyone can play them.
It would've been a bit more cool if you'd start with a nation that players seem to struggle with more.
Regardless, it's a well made video with good information and I am looking forward for more :)

Try being brain-dead with KV2, or IS-3, the machines are so overtiered that their armour is totally useless, making them just a nice and slow big target.
Also the T-44 and T-54 makes you bankrupt with their costs of repairs.
Imho T-34 for example is actually weaker than Pz IV F2, not to mention G or H.
PZIV F2 can kill T-34 from a distance with ease, while T-34 struggles to do anything to it from the front, even at relatively short distance.
You mentioned 2 vehicles that are "overtiered", yet all nations have countless vehicles that are more or less useless at their tiers.
You say that the T-44 and T-54 make you go bankrupt, yet I have never heard this statement before, and if you're that low on money then you should probably not even play tanks at all since you barely gain anything from it anyway, especially not at top tier.
There will always be better counterparts, but I stand by my statement saying that the Soviet vehicles (including the majority of T-34's) are very easy to play and don't require any specific playstyle like most other nations such as Germany, which you even mentioned; The Pz.IV-F2 killing it at a distance, which it's designed to do. Almost all German vehicles were made for distance fighting.
TheMysteriousSwede as somebody who played EVERY nation to a certain degree, yes the russians are the easiest ones without doubt... and the kv2 is brutal at its br - i never aced a comparable tank as fast as this one
Early T34 shells just ricochet off enemy armor and are usually killed with one shot.
1942 which I have now with upgraded shells is way better but still gets killed easily if you are not careful.
Not joking this entire series needs to be redone in like at least 2-3 months when they know there not adding anything

My T-26, T-34, and T-50 were absolutely IRREPLACEABLE at low rank. Now I use my premium IS-6. Only problem is I can't decide what to take with it! Obj 120? T-34-100? T-44-100? IS-3? All Soviet T5s are so good!

Ze Oberman because in the real war the Ferdinand was a really expensive tank, and sum up that it wasn't that reliabe and use to brake down a lot :p
Or because of its in-game stats, it's real life counterpart has literally nothing to do with its repair cost.

I just trained in the new american desert map and I bounced 4 AP rounds from the Mk.10 Centurion in the T-34 85 D5T! No angling too.

I wonder why ingame the T-34-85 has 45mm of hull armour while historically it had 70mm.
the T-34 does had 45mm armor, but it was angled, therefore increased up to 70mm effectively
I am talking about the the T-34 with the 85 mm gun.
On it, the plate was 70 mm thick.

For new players, I shall give you some advise. I have been playing WT for multiple months now, and at low br, Russian bias isn’t all that present, and you’ll get annoyed with the br’s a lot. If you have a 3.7 lineup with t-34’s and an kv-1, get ready to face at least br 4 and probably br 5 vehicles, just push through and deal with the pain of you don’t have premium
I don’t think T-64s are fast though.
danny phantom, they aren't when the competition lives of that (you only win against a chally 1 Mk 2 in foward speed), AB however mitigates the slow reaction by giving T64s 10% extra Stalinium in your fuel.

You should never say the word "balance" because nothing is called "fair" when u face russian vehicle in any rank
KV2 is a 1939, historically almost none survived 1941 and in the game they fight vs. 43-45 tanks.
IS-3 is a 1945 tank, and in the game it faces even tanks from the 1970s, which makes it;s armor totally useless and the tank effectively becomes just a slower IS-2. You call that fair?
