We are planning to go there during weekend of Oct 18.. will the fall colors be there by then?please advise. ..
I couldn't tell if you started out from the observation tower or not. There's an observation tower similar to Clingmans Dome tower across the road and about half a mile hike up the hill from the parking lot. Great views. Foothills Parkway is a nice getaway unless there's some sort of car event in town. Then it's full of wannabe speed racers 😄.
We started from Look Rock, we almost did the tower and the half mile hike but we had to get back in town but we definitely want to explore more of the foothills that's for sure. We should definitely stay away then, thanks.

What a beautiful day and drive on the Foothills Pkwy! Can't believe the trees are changing in mid September. Will be gorgeous when all the fall colors arrive. Hope the Flint Gap Fire is out soon and those awesome trees are saved.
