I like both, some place need point source, another place need Line array, but i used both in one venue

Interesting. I run into 10x more issues with Line Arrays versus a point source like the Danley Synergy Horns. Line arrays have to use Phase Cancellation to work, which means they end up causing more harm then good in most scenarios. Plus, there’s no way for them to have all of the frequencies Leave perfectly in phase when hung in a J array.

That's why all professionals use horns and nobody uses line arrays.... Oh wait 😱
All systems have pros and cons in different environments & various use case scenarios.

@@vikassm line array is more adaptable and modular. And more practical in many cases. Doesn't mean it creates the best quality.

either way you are dissabled to run a line array or u lack knowledge of how to. The comb filtering happens in vertical plane which is hardly perceivable even if its 5ms of delay. Though at the distance like 10 meters that delay between top box and mid lower box deminishes and it becomes 0.Xms of delay which is impossible to perceive in vertical plane.
therefore horizontally we have ideal coverage through out listening area, but vertically unless you are running up the stairs during the event, you will not notice any phase changes or comb filtering issues at all.

Despite the differences between line array and point source being dispersion or coverage,is there any other difference between line array and point source speakers with reference to the manufacture components eq inbuilt cross over unit, voice coil ?

what about distance? doesnt line array also have a longer throw. vs point of source.? 🤔

I may be wrong, but I have never heard a "cluster of speakers" referred to as a point source. All kinds of nasty comb filtering.

Line Arrays create their coverage pattern through controlled interference. Thats all😜

yep impossible to upfront, no midbass directivity at distance. just LOUD VERY LOUD..;.. brilliant

lets address 3dB rolloff vs 6 db when doubled distance.... a straigh line without delays have buckets of comb :) not at all even. unless shaded and delayed

when is line array hung up straight? that NO.1 rule of WHAT NOT TO DO with line array :D
