It kind of infuriates me that my dad did so much time of my youth in prison for being a bookie loan shark and the state now regulates gambling and lets banks slide by with "predatory lending"...

    Memory lane for me...
I managed the contract for Operations and Maintenance of the Boston School Department's busing program through the 80's until I retired in 2001. In the 90's I met with an attorney I had hired to deal with some legal issues we had with bus routes in Boston's North End and he invited me to join him for lunch at a North End restaurant, Davide. (Pronounced "David-a") When we entered the restaurant the first thing I noticed was that all the patrons were men, mostly wearing what appeared to be very expensive suits, some wearing sunglasses even though it was indoors, and no one sitting with his back to the door. I turned to him and asked, "Is this place what I think it is?" He chuckled and said "Yeah. No one will ever get a bad lunch here. The servers wouldn't last five minutes if they did." Well, our meal was great - - and I was happy that I left alive.

Amazing job dude. I can’t tell you how long I’ve waited for someone to outline New Englands entire mafia history in a video. Especially the years after Patriarca dies. It can get confusing keeping track of who exactly was in power and who was part of that leadership once you hit the 90’s.
Obviously the mafia as a whole isn’t what it once was nationally, nor will it ever be. However locally it still means something. Even if their power and respect has been reduced down to the few square blocks radius in Boston’s North End and Federal Hill in Providence. You go to these places and the names you mention here still mean something. Even if it’s just a story about a life once lived.

I grew up in Boston and back then we were associated with the Irish Mafia. It's amazing how much of the history I have heard from my uncles. I didn't know what it all meant until I was grown and left. Whitey was an informant for the FBI. The Irish cops used to tell my uncles, who were all bookies and ran numbers, what was going down and where not to be. They understood the real criminals from the regular guys and let them alone. I'm still a little surprised that I thought all of the free gifts from my uncles who said they fell off a truck going by, I just grew a up thinking it was all normal.

Two 40+ minute videos isn’t long enough or detailed enough? 🤔 Since you’ve just read the many books about this, I’m sure you can imagine how much time it takes to not only read up on it, but then further research, mapping it all out accurately, finding pics & clips that fit with the timeline & then painstakingly putting them all together with narration. Oh then there’s the editing. C’mon now…this was very well done. But since you’re now so well read on the subject, perhaps *you* can make a longer, more detailed video and upload it to UA-cam. When you’re finished, please feel free to drop the link to show everyone how much better of a job you can do. ⌚️

I’ll always believe that the strength and power of a mafia family goes only as far as their leadership. This is the reason why the Genovese family has remained atop the criminal underworld for decades and a family like New England has struggled to find its place for decades.
You can go back in history and look at any family and make a strong correlation between their overall health as an organization and problems at the top within their leadership. Once a family starts squabbling over power, their days are usually numbered. Especially if that infighting breaks out into civil war and never stabilizes itself with a guy capable enough to settle things down, make smart decisions, and right the ship.

But to this day i still remember walking home form school on Broadway and what i thought was a lost dog i got home told my mom a dog followed me home of course she said you're not keeping it and to bring it back were you found it. As i was walking down my street i guy comes out from the side of the house and started to yelling at me saying i took he's dog i said it followed me home i started crying like any 9yo would do went home told my mom when my stepfather came home that night mom must of told him what happened he woke me up and it was late had me walk down the street and point out the house and said ok. Two days later the first floor was empty never seen him or the dog again. Figured he moved but as i got older and realized what my stepfather was a part of i knew that guy was forced to move and was giving a few days to do so. RIP K.A made me the man i am today

So happy I got the hell out in the mid 70s. But my old man filled me in. Naming names. Times. Places while I hummed closed off. He was his own little crime boss. Murders, blowing up Fed buildings. The people involved are all dead now.✨🇺🇸✨

Only recognized one name. Deluca. Damascus, Vincenthio, didn't make the cut. But are long dead. ✨🇺🇸✨

A lot of mistakes the patriarch of family never was close to going to war with Winterhill as a matter of fact they both helped each other out when needed also Larry did not have a headquarters in Boston and he did not like Jerry for overstepping him and becoming the under boss well Larry had already been a captain on the streets

Winterhill was not an Irish gang it was a mixture of Irish Italian and some Jewish members and they were allies of the patriarca family and all these pictures you are showing none of them are in the north end
