Hi Dr J9- more great info - love your videos! I have osteoporosis and have tried unsuccessfully to fix this issue. Working with my doctor on this but I appreciate this information and will be looking to switching my calcium supplement.

Hello! We suggest checking out Vitatree Calcium available online at us.vitatree.com it is a coral calcium made without fillers or flow agents 😊 -Team Dr. Janine
The amount of elemental calcium has nothing to do with the absorption or availability. The studies on pub med suggest that calcium lactate is the best absorbed.
Yeah but if u food combine calcium lactate w/ other foods u can up the mineral absorbtion; like banana & milk or pineapple & yogurt. And calcium citrate is still not too bad at 20%. And also some drs say not to take calcium at all (b/c of possibke heart risks but I always thought their reasonings were weak), so is getting more better? But if u have have seen success w/ patients taking the coral, that would incline me to keep taking it. It didn't make sense to me that this important mineral should be excluded from supplementation esp if u have osteoporosis which is a life threatening situation to be in imo.
Had almost all these and my mental health was in the gutter . Upped my dietary intake and am much better
Thanks for clarifying this. Does coffee*(caffeine consumption) rob our bones of calcium?
Yes, coffee can deplete the calcium in our bones. It is about 6mg of calcium lost per 100mg of caffeine consumed.
Yikes! Sounds like we should therefore reduce caffeine consumption as we age. (If we have the predisposition of osteoporosis)

Shouldn’t the absorption comparison be between say lactate or citrate and coral?
As any form will always be there absorbed than carbonate!

Too much calcium can cause a lot of the symptoms, especially joint pain!
