Conveying scale can be a tricky thing for mech games. Especially when the mech is as fast and sleek as an Armored Core. But it is a good sign for the art direction when it does convey that scale. To make you fully appreciate that you are driving a giant robot who can sunder walls and shatter homes with mass at velocity alone, even before breaking foes with weapons.
I'm a month late, I know. But fun fact, everything in AC is like..rendered and drawn to scale. The mechs are actually 13 meters tall instead of making everything on a smaller scale. If that makes sense at all. It's 3am as I'm writing this haha
The good news about characters in this game is that because we never see any of them outside an AC or a profile picture, character art has some real room for random. Although the community has decided on a few things like Ayre having white hair and Rusty being hot.
ALLMIND basically has a Canon appearance now because a single artist and everyone else going "yup its canon". So canon in fact that even her JP voice actress tweeted to say it's cool with her.
I love how shen says the headpiece that Rusty's mech has looks hot, also picks the same legs as Rusty's mech, and THEN goes to the wall and meets Rusty. it was meant to be
I don't know anyone who doesn't start start loving Rusty from the get-go. He's pretty much the Solaire of the game while having the benefit of not being in a Souls games, meaning he's less cryptic and gets to have more than 10 minutes of screen-time. It's refreshing, and it's something I really liked about Sekiro as well.

Someone, name of Zullie, even demonstrated that they're to scale in Elden Ring's map too, taking advantage of how From's games tend to share the same engine. LOADER 4 is huge! ...the Ice Worm is massive.
Apparently things are actually proportionate and not super scaled up. Zullie did a video showing the player from Elden Ring exploring one of the AC 6 maps and everything was the right size while porting the smallest AC 6 enemies were the size of the giant crabs
Some of the environment scaling within AC 6 isn't quite right, but the models do have specific sizes. The Ice Worm stretches across entire chunks of the map in Elden Ring.

However, you can try to hold the mouse upside-down instead of hovering it by a little if that make your wrist feel sore.

Fun armored core fact: It's on the same engine as Elden Cock Ring, meaning modders have ported models over. The game is accurately modelled to scale, meaning if you were to port the maps, you pretty much would have to spend forever just to run across the small ones as a normal human instead of a Raven

This is the right attitude to play AC in... although it gets brutally hard if you never figure out what you're doing. Heck, even if you know what you're doing there's hard parts.
I played armored core 2 on ps2 a shit ton growing up. I basically bullied my way through. Sometimes I knew what I was doing. Other times I just chose violence and WENT
Shen playing this game is equivalent with driving manually with no experience at all and touching everything in the controls until later on things make sense all of the sudden.
The reverse grip was a major thing during Armored Core 2’s time. That game had no Joystick controls whatsoever forcing your movements to be on the D-pad :P.

8:03 a sortie is a small mission that makes up the main story. Sorties are made up of objectives, such as surveying terrain or taking on an enemy AC. Each sortie supports particular playstyles and AC builds
This is the right attitude to play AC in... although it gets brutally hard if you never figure out what you're doing. Heck, even if you know what you're doing there's hard parts.
I played armored core 2 on ps2 a shit ton growing up. I basically bullied my way through. Sometimes I knew what I was doing. Other times I just chose violence and WENT

The best part of finally getting a new Armored Core is seeing all the newcomers getting their first taste of mecha awesomeness.
Shen playing this game is equivalent with driving manually with no experience at all and touching everything in the controls until later on things make sense all of the sudden.
the FCS is your target lock on card... so yes you actually have to buy a graphics card for your mech
The reverse grip was a major thing during Armored Core 2’s time. That game had no Joystick controls whatsoever forcing your movements to be on the D-pad :P.

Sortie means to launch, particularly an aircraft into a mission.
Similar to how spaceships use naval terminology, mechs use fighter terminology.
