    Hey Tyler. Another great day on the water.
    @ 3:02, That ML&W piece is part of a coupler pocket. The couplers at the end of each train car are anchored to the car inside that box. Definitely a highly collectable item. .
    @18:33, that sign looks like signage that would be something at the side of the tracks letting the engineer know some information he needs.
    @ 19:25, that is a great big wrench used on steam locomotives. Clean it up and you may find the railroad lable on it.
    Be willing to bet those poles sticking up out of the water were part of a really old railroad bridge across the water

    Those window weights usually go between the window frame and the inside of the building so they would never be visible unless you were installing or removing the window. But some of those larger ones may not be window weights they look more like door counterweights for opening and closing large industrial sized doors.

  • @Hello-rn4sc
    @Hello-rn4sc 9 днів тому +1

    Tyler the window weights, always hung inside the window well, along the side of the window, so that, when, you opened up the window, the weight would come down and hold the window up, and you won’t see them anywhere anymore unless, you can find a really old house, or factory, but most of them are pretty much gone by now !!

    For a minute thought you tossed the chain not rope, LOL. Factories would put dangerous chemicals waste in barrel and illegally dump in water. I helped my mother do the wash in old machines 1960’s, no hand cranks,electric motors, so older, looked up and looked same in pictures.
    During the nineteenth century, manufacturers marketed hand-cranked washing machines (Cowan, 1983, p. 151). The Cataract washer, created in 1831, used a hand crank to rotate clothes inside a drum. Maytag’s first washer was the Pastime-a wooden washtub on legs. Wringers were added on the top of the wash tub, and the operator inserted clothes between two rollers and turned a crank to squeeze out excess water. By 1875, roughly 2,000 patents had been taken out in the U.S. for mechanical washers
    Stopped making hand cranked

    Everything used to be dumped somewhere or buried. So much history is hiding all around us underground and water. The old wringer washers did have to rollers. You put a piece of clothing in the edge of them and cranked the handle to run it through squeezing the water out. Electric ones were available when I was young. One of my playmates got his arm in it up to the elbow. They were scary. It ripped skin off of his arm at the elbow.
