According to stats, 50% of everything we see as British such as Heathrow airport, railways, ports, boots, Waterstones (bookshop) are now foreign owned. The thatcher government made it easy for foreign take overs of not just British companies with a wealth of knowledge and expertise but also national assets.. where as foregin take overs are common else where, there are rules.. for example in Germany they ban foreign takeovers of allot of technology & engineering companies etc to keep the knowledge in the country.. According to stats, 50% of everything we see as British such as Heathrow airport, railways, ports, boots, Waterstones (bookshop) are now foreign owned.
