This is the coolest stomach/sternum tattoo ever! I’m getting one for my first tattoo(Doing the most painful ones first to get them out of the way. Probably a bad idea but whatever!) I’m getting a moth w a skull in the body, eyes in the wings and a dagger going through it! I’ll be getting blackwork and I’m SUPER pumped to get it! My appointment is January 17th!

The Kirby Family it went great! I slept through it tbh it wasn’t bad at all people freaked me out by saying it was the most painful thing they’ve ever felt and to me it felt like scratches from when you’re playing w a cat yeah it didn’t feel great but it’s 100% Bearable

Great tips about clothing. Pretty often it seems like people dress up for tattoo session in their brand new white fancy clothing and it doesn't always stay that fresh after session.

I have a whole chest piece extending down to my upper stomach, plus 2 full sleeves covering my hands.. the only thing that has helped me during sessions is repeating this mantra over n over in my head "it's only bee stings.. tiny little bee stings". repeating this really helped me get thru hrs n hrs of pain. I also keep in mind this won't kill me, I have all portrait realism but I love how bold and black your work is.

I got my sternum tattoo as my second tattoo and luckily we finished it in one session (4 hours with breaks) and I didn't even cry which was weird 😂?? I think the after pain of healing was worse than the tattooing itself because I almost fainted when I put the tattoo lotion for the first time.. 😂
i can relate so much! i got a tattoo on my ribs yesterday and it started hurting the most after getting it
I also count stuff when i'm in pain during tattooing hahaha. I got my sternum tattooed recently, and what helps me with pain is i look for written words on posters etc and i read them backwards. It really helps, I don't know why.
Omg yes I agree with the lines not hurting as much as shading with all tattoos

Just got my stomach tattooed on Friday up to my solar plexuw, lines and shading done in one session. It was HELL with the shading. The lines werent bad and they gave me a false sense of confidence. We didnt have numbing cream and it was excruciatingly painful. Your piece came out amazing! Props to you for making it through! 👏🏼
god lines are the worst i prefer shading lol the shading is such a huge relief, thinking about getting a small sternum piece this saturday but i'm honestly scared

Hey barbara, i got a question about getting the tattoo. Do you have to watch what you eat before the tattoo season ? Because of the stomach getting bigger after eating. I'm getting my sternum and almost my whole belly tattoed in march and also love to eat alot
I hope you don't mind if I chime in, since your question was specifically addressed to Barbara! It's always best to eat a normal sized meal before a session, ideally with lots of complex carbs to help stabilize your blood sugar during the session. I wouldn't worry about the stomach getting bigger, even just breathing will move your stomach during the tattooing process, it shouldn't effect the tattoo at all.
Planning on getting a snake on my hand, & a dragon on my foot with an Egyptian goddess for a sternum tattoo (like rihannas). Getting a tat in 4 months for my 18th 🤍🤍 super excited

I'm pretty worried, because after birth giving I'm a lot more sensitive to pain (even though 2 years since then already past) and other reason is I got tickilish...

I have a simple line work sternum tattoo and wow it was so painful!!!!! I’ve also noticed that since my bra constantly is rubbing against the tattoo, it has made it faded and definitely should get touched up. I wish I could’ve got something more detailed and amazing but I know I couldn’t of done it!!!

@@ieatgarbage4216 it hurt like a fucking bitch I won't even lie. I almost tapped out, I still have one more session and I'm dreading it. I'd say focus on your breathing, consistent in and out. Try to distract yourself from the pain, don't clench up

Getting my sternum tattoo in 1 hour.. Now I am even more terrified 😂
My sternum/stomach was not even close to as elaborate as yours. I just got a 5 letter word tatted there. And only sat for about an hour. It was still a pretty painful spot compared to most of the other work I have done armpit was still much worse. But the outline was the worst part. I was going numb by the color in part. But the outline felt like a razor blade But that might be different if I had more time in that area.
I just got my stomach done a couple days ago, I have my last name in huge old English letters and that was a killer worst 4 hours of my life
