06:05 that's precisely why this is called the 'switch hit'..have to switch hands in a fraction of a sec.. there's a 'reverse sweep' though in which hands don't get switched
Happy new year to you both! 0:45 - that was my local team, the Otago Volts, who are based in my home city. BTW, these weren't all from 2023 - 7:30 was the great Brendon McCullum, who retired several years ago.
Happy New Years to you as well. That's pretty interesting that was you local team too. Oh wow okay we definitely did not know about McCullum clips but thank you for the heads up.
May you guys continue your cricket journey through 2025. It has been great watching you continue to learn, enjoy and understand the nuances of cricket over time. Thank you and keep up the great reactions.
Thank you for joining us on this journey, it definitely has been a very fun and interesting one. Thank you for the support and we will definitely continue this journey in 2025.
The dot or the greater than / less than keys will advance / rewind frame by frame. Also remember that the video speed can be changed right down to 0.25x normal.
Go watch Aussie debutante & NSW boy from Sydney & just turned 19 decided to do three ramps while Bumrah was bowling. Sammy was a breath of fresh air & coz of his 55 runs, first ever test match good to see cricket Straya selecting future big stars for once & finally don't look at the other experienced openers James Faulker @ the Gabba against England after their 5-0 test with obvs destroyed the Poms. Straya (Faulkner hit three 4' to win the game with no wickets. You'll see the crowd & reactions of the crowd, gives ya goosebumps
For when Dilshan pulled off the Dilscoop during the 2009 ICC World T20 (3:14), Muttiah Muralitharan was asked about it in an interview after the match. He revealed that Dilshan's team-mates called the shot the 'Starfish', as "you have to have no brains to play a shot like that" (a starfish does not have a single, central brain like many animals).
Hey Guys...glad to see you enjoying what I believe to be the greatest sport in the world. Don't think any other sports has so many ups and downs like cricket. You can go from hero to zero in a blink of the eye.
Unfortunately Ab de Villiers wasn't in this video but we are looking for some videos with him that we could do. If you have any send them our way, thanks in advance.
G'day Guys! For some crazy ramp shots take a look at the debut of 19 year old Sam Konstas opening against India in the Boxing Day Test! 3 awesome ramp shots near the beginning of his innings and almost taking the best bowler in the world out of the game! Cheers!
no better sound than a fast and hard ball hit perfectly off the meat of a bat, no matter if cricket or stickball sports. As for unorthodox batting, Dean jones often comes to mind, he was not only hitting weird shots, but dude would force runs that normally weren't there (was hatted for it by other batters, for obvious reasons lol)
Ooh, biomechanics insight for this comment - "the fact they can get that much power on one knee like that is impressive." - I mean, yes. But specifically, it'll have a bit less to do with power and more to do with rhythm, balance and timing. So, if someone strikes that pose and then tries to play the shot while static, it won't come off all that well. But if you're still dropping (in a controlled fashion) during the swing, the body can use that motion to offset the bat swing (in an equal and opposite force sense) and transfer the force into the ball. Like most sports actions, really nailing it comes from weight transfer through good footwork, as I've no doubt you guys are well aware. If you watch closely, you'll see the batsman's knee doesn't actually touch the ground until after he's struck the ball. On the other side of the coin, this sports concept makes the helicopter shot so impressive. Rather than use footwork to act as a counter to the force transfer of bat-on-ball (orthodox), the batsman alters the shape of the bat swing to do this while complementing the stance he's already in (unorthodox).
Zach you look kivi I mean from New Zealand guy it is completely different game because in baseball you’re ball is on all time here you get to pitch the ball to ground that changes the whole game
Can you react to the over of Konstas hitting Bumrah all over the park. It was a great match and I think Sam Konstas in his 1st test laid the platform for the win
Sorry to hear that but it's apart of our process and we aren't the Yapper Gang for nothing. But also if we don't stop the video we would just be stealing it and that's not cool at all, right?

I agree

Yes that's right, well pointed out

Not having a single AB de Villiers shot in this is criminal, man🤕.
Good video tho
A lot these shots would have been considered odd before the advent of T20 but are now mainstream.
Thats a very interesting point, be we understand what you mean though. Thank you for checking out the video.

Dayum! I never knew it was this easy. On my system the dot moves it forward and the comma backwards. Thank you!

Unorthodox shots without ab de villiers is crazy 🤡 next reaction should be best unorthodox shots by ab de villiers 🤌❤️🔥
Yeah very true, we are looking for a video with him if you know of any send them our way. Thank you for checking out the video.
No ab devilliers shots wow😮
6:14 there are two different shorts one is reverse shot or reverse hit and other one is switch hit in which Batsman also changes it's hands
ABD against shami on to the roof top
2:57 shot so cool, they named it after him 'The Dil-scoop'
Imagine debuting as an opener in the boxing day test, then ramping Bumruh! That's the craziest batting I have ever seen.
And then kohli ruins it ahh
Unorthodox shots list is incomplete without Ab De Villiers

Dhoni's Helicopter shot sounded like a gun shot.where is abd???
Unfortunately Ab de Villiers wasn't in this video but we are looking for some videos with him that we could do. If you have any send them our way, thanks in advance.

8min. 40 sec number 63 for India ? What a shot, timed to perfection, that's the best shot for me. Good video, thanks guys
@@johntaylor6654 you can watch his full inning,
You must enjoy .
@@rameshdewasikhari5985 Thanks for your reply, I will
The variety of ways to hit the ball in cricket surely must be a significant difference from baseball.
You cant compare Dilshan's Dilscoop with any of these.. Dilscoop was the bravest one.. 🔥
Hi. Please make a video on Yuvraj Singh 6 Sixes in an over.
Guys please react to Rishabh Pant. Unplayable shots. Hello is truly a gem of Indian team
He is an idiot..
Please react to Micheal clarkes documentary it's a good one to react to
Not even a single shot of ABD
I think the editor hates him
Instead of abd he puts Suryakumar yadav 5-6 times logic less
We notice he was not in the video but if you know of any videos we can check out please send them our way. Thank you in advance.
Zach you look kivi I mean from New Zealand guy it is completely different game because in baseball you’re ball is on all time here you get to pitch the ball to ground that changes the whole game
1:30
2:00 are not unorthodox but standard cricket shots.
Can you react to the over of Konstas hitting Bumrah all over the park. It was a great match and I think Sam Konstas in his 1st test laid the platform for the win
I told you before and again I'm telling you please react to Surya Kumar Yadav's batting it's totally unorthodox 🔥🔥🔥
Title says Unorthodox shots and not a single clip of Ab de villiers 😂, he's the daddy of unorthodox shots !
Sweep shot and square drive are unorthodox shots??
Vote for amith vs archer
Pausing the video in the middle so many times, it irritates more to watch 🙄
Sorry to hear that but it's apart of our process and we aren't the Yapper Gang for nothing. But also if we don't stop the video we would just be stealing it and that's not cool at all, right?
No Ab devillers🙄🙄Are you kidding!! Seriously
Do watch the INDIA VS KAZAKHASTAN(Basket Ball Match) FIBA ASIA CUP QUALIFIER. Tell me your views on Indian Basketball Standards
Bro without AB De Villiers?
This is a joke man!
Without ABD South Africa’s batsman, this is a useless video
