just wanted to thank you! My 2008 Forester started consuming a lot of oil suddenly, and one day as I was coming to a stop, I saw the low oil pressure light come on with a CEL. CEL was related to oil solenoid bank 1. Took it to Subaru who explained to me that the car was just old, therefore consuming a lot of oil as the solenoids checked out fine but i was down 2 quarts of oil. Got an oil change and discovered i was burning almost a quart every 1000 miles! I called bs at the dealership tech as my engine only has 94,000 miles, and did some googling until i found this video. After 1000 miles I can safely say I haven't burnt a single Oz of oil after the pcv valve replacement. Cheers!
Nice and informative video and well explained. Use Dielectric grease on those electrical connections makes removal easier and also makes the connection waterproof. Thanks again
Thanks man! Very helpful. I bought my replacement from Rockauto with limited success. Caused engine light to come on because hose was loose. Then tried OEM from Subaru. Problem solved.
Bullet Solano hey whats up man i tried doing this last night and the pcv valve is on there really tight. The base came unscrewed instead of only the pcv. Does the base have threads? And should i take the whole thing off?
Bullet Solano im not sure the metal part under the pcv just rotates like if i were unscrewing it. The pcv wont detach from that part... I put bolt loosener hopefully that will help. But is the base supposed to move at all?
Great video, thank you. I have a 2010 Forester but the PCV location looks identical. It's very tough to get to!! Luckily Subaru made it easier access in later models. Thanks again.
I wondered where the PCV was. More difficult to get to than on any of the other vehicles I've worked on. Doesn't look too bad though. Thanks for the video! Not sure where you found one for four bucks. That's a good deal. The Subaru part #11810AA100 runs from $11-$25 most places I've seen. It's all metal. I've seen some other guys use teflon tape on the threads because it screws into the engine. Not sure if that's really necessary. Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing your video. I took the hose off and used the 19mm socket to unscrew the valve, but the base is turning instead of the valve unscrewing. Is there something special I have to do to get it to unscrew?
The base is press in, if it comes with the valve you can get it out easier then, to put it back in (the base? Use some loctite to avoid this issue next time
Yeah the air flow is doing good on the car, after doing all the maintenance it was running a little rough, but then I did the Idle relearn from your previous video and it worked like a charm! Now the car is running like new, solo tengo un alto consumo de aceite pero en estos carros eso es normal. But again thanks for all the information you provided in all these videos, definitely earned a sub! keep up the good work bro, take it easy! ✌🏽

May I know the part number of the PCV valve?
Thanks for all the 2010 subaru impreza videos. You have helped me out a lot and saved me money. Muchas gracias!
No problem bro

Hey man, did you broke the base?

Not on mine maybe your is like that

Thanks bro
Great video! Thanks
Useful - Thanks Bullet Solano I will use the information to do mine.
Ok no problem
What is the problem pcv valve? Only reduce oil engine or what?
I checked my “hoes”...and they are in very good conditions...;)
Good job Solano, well explained bro.
Great Video! Do you happen to have a specific brand or part number for the replacement pcv valve. Not sure what brand to go with
If I remember correctly I just went with the one from advance auto parts
¡Gracias muchisimas!

Do you have to remove the intake pipe to complete this install?
Not really
Thanks for sharing this video, it was very useful
Great, thanks

Thinking of buying one... good cars? Do they burn oil sometimes changing the PCV valve solves that problem they clog up...
If you get a Subaru get one with manual transmission because automatics not good, and mine never burn oil
@@BulletSolano you have a manual..stick shift
No bro that one was my wife’s care, automatic but I didn’t have problems with it, but still those transmission are not reliable
Is it the same for 2008 Impreza? Thanks
Yes
Thanks man! Great video!
No problem
Thank you 🕯
No problem
Thanks dude
No problem
Gracias hermano
De nada
@@BulletSolano hey quick question. Did the new PCV valve rattle match? I just got mine from Subaru unless I shake it really hard it doesn't rattle.
It doesn’t rattle much but it has some play in it
