At her age she’s probably got it instilled in her to be ashamed, even if nowadays it’s considered okay. I had some neighbors who were older like a lot older . We never knew if they were sisters or together. No one really knew actually.

When you make a lot of house calls, you probably learn a few things about the houses you're in.
Do they EVER have a patient undergoing an MRI or some other "We'll be monitoring from an adjacent room" test who DOESN'T have some kind of unexpected episode like a seizure?

I'm glad she ended up staying to support her even though she was just a client. I feel like women have a lot of empathy for other women who are (possibly) going through breast cancer. Men aren't really the same in that regard to testicular/prostate cancer You'll most likely get support, but it's kind of a touchy subject to men. Especially since men don't like to show "weakness" (which it isn't) in caring for someone and talking to them about it. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was in Jr. High I think. Thank God she got through it. As a kid I never really wanted to talk about it, especially since I'm a hypochondriac and don't like even thinking about stuff like that. But now that I'm older, I really need to tell her how happy I am to still have her around. Was just talking to my new hair stylist who said her mom died because of it. My whole family got really lucky to be able to keep her here.

Okay, I looked it up, it was methyl bromine poisoning from the fumigation of the house next door (its colorless and odorless). The two houses were still connected electrically and it seeped into her house. sadly the cat didn't survive 😞
Poisoning by METHYL BROMIDE used as pest control in the neighboring house. The cat died from the gas that entered the cellar via an open pipe. The cat was sitting high because it sensed the gas coming up.

I've thought for a long time that 'old' starts at 60. 64 now, and I do feel the effects of creeping decrepitude. But truthfully, she looks older than me. If I passed her on the street, I would think she's elderly.

I did this once, for a person I did not know. I was visiting him at his house for work. He had a medical issue, we called an ambulance, I went to the ER with him, stayed for a few hours, left and never saw him again after that.
Why are people incapable of catching people while falling in this show?
I've caught fainting people several times in real life, it's not difficult.
Prob didnt bother budgeting for stunt coordinators. Scenes are shot multiple times, to catch falling people even a little can do damage to the other actors.
@@Telly5strartist exactly haha. If the extra falls and gets hurt it’s one thing. If the extra falls on a main cast member and they get hurt that’s whole different legal issue. Also of course there’s the drama of someone falling on the floor and people rushing to help.

I’m a disability support worker in Australia, and we’re trained to NEVER catch people when they collapse to prevent workplace injuries. It could be a similar procedure in hospitals

This is the first time i see a clip of this episode. Can anyone who has already watched it tell me a bit about this episode/patient ..i believe there are a few of us that just watch the clips and havent actually watched the show and im actually curius

This actually the B plot of that episode "Airborne". The cat dies, which leads them to check the basement and it turns out they were fumigating next door and the fumes crept in through an old connecting pipe. The main thing about the patient is she thought she was being punished by God for having a good time in her middle age. In fact it was returning home that nearly killed her. The episode ends with Wilson calling the call girl . Though its kind of unclear if he's calling for the patient or for himself.

Good theory, but nope. Her neighbour's house was actually being fumigated but there was a leak she was slowly being poisoned by. Her behaviour is just your classic mid-life crisis.
You easily can get toxoplasmosis by eating uncleaned fruits and veggies, easier than from a cat.
Most of us goes through toxo in childhood without any symptomes.
Toxoplasmosis is not really dangerous unless your immune system is not working or in the case of pregnancy. Most people will have no symptoms at all. Something like 10% of people have been infected with it.

Foreman didn't find the cat, Chase did. Chase went back to Fran's house and discovered the poisonous gas.

About 10 years ago I was pheasant hunting pretty deep in the woods , I was walking down an Old Logging Road, About three hundred yards up the road I saw a red fox come out of the bushes, At first I was like oh that's cool I'm going to take some pictures if he doesn't take off, so I kept walking towards him then he noticed me, Instead of running like any normal Fox would have done he locked eyes on me and kept walking towards me, The only thing was he was kind of almost stumbling, I stopped and pulled out my binoculars, the poor guy had a real bad case of mange the only hair he had left was on his head the front top half of his chest and some of his tail, when you are pheasant hunting or small game hunting you are not supposed to carry slugs but I always bring one and I stash it on the back of my belt loop, I unloaded my birdshot and loaded in the 3" mag slug, at that time I was wishing that I had my 22 magnum instead of the shotgun but it is what it is, As he was now about 100 yards out still staring at me and still stumbling, i dropped down to one knee to stabilize my shot , I still waited till he got closer i didnt want to miss and have to use buckshot , i wanted a clean kill , He was still staring at me almost looking right thru me , Then he was at about the 30 yard mark i dropped the hammer and that was that super clean shot to lower center of his chest , i would say perfect heart and at least one lung if not both , a 3 " mag slug can do a lot of damage , once i walked up to him i confirmed massive mange and suspected rabies as he never wanted to run off or was scared of me , so i dropped a pin on my gps so i could report it, just by luck when i got back to my truck a game warden just pulled in, i showed him the pics i took and told him how it acted, He said same probably rabies along with the mange , I had time so i followed my gps pin so he could collect thd body to test it , they have been trying to collect any info on rabid animals especially fox in the area,

I wouldve loved to know the cost at the end of each episode from all the test they do to all these people
If I remember right it's a training hospital (where young doctors go to start out) and places like that tend to have a larger budget and willing to do test for training compared to a normal one that has to get insurance approval for every thing.
When I watched the show on TV years ago, cost never crossed my mind. Now that I'm older and have had to pay for an ambulance ride and a couple of hospital stays, I wonder about the cost for EVERY episode. I hate when growing up prevents me from enjoying things like I used to.

@@likeorasgod There is no such thing as a "training hospital". Every single one takes residents. That's how the system keeps going.
It is no wonder American health care is so expensive if you have 3 doctors doing tests that should be done by other medical experts. This is why one doctor can just order tests and trained professionals fill the order.
I assumed they did them due to needing the results a lot faster than having to order the test and wait

I hate how they fake seizures. Tbh tonic clonic seizures are more so pulsing convulsions vs the crazy shaking they show.
In the chapter of the girl with no pain (the one on a car crash) House says that "is hard to fake pain when you haven't feel it ever" (exact words are different but that's the message) and I think it's the same thing with a seizure, you can't imitate something that you don't know.
But I agree, they should use the consultant doctors to get better information about it so when someone sees somebody who is going through one can identify it correctly.
@@frecio231 I’m an epileptic so I know first hand how they look (I’ve seen myself after my father recording me) and felt them first hand. So tiring lol. And make your eyes fuzzy, head hurt, and body sore. Sometimes throwing up. Lol not fun.
