It is merely criticizing his goofy ahh Tier List, which is *NOT* above criticism. Fingerprint shield is NOT the ONLY other madness weapon. That'd be the Frenzy Seal too. Only that Fingerprint is a million times better and worthy of mention. It also felt right because he included torches (which are not weapons per se either) 4) I know he mentioned that Mohg's spear should've been #1, but that's like saying "yeah, Apples make better hammers than Oranges". It still would not be #1 according to his criteria (but Mohg's is actually quite good) 5) If you believe Rusty's list should not be criticized because "it's not serious" (despite he claiming that he tried to be objective as possible), then does that mean that you should not criticize my video if I claim it's a joke too? 🤔 That aside, what's YOUR favorite weapon?

Im gonna finish watching this video but i gotta say rusty fanbase had been essentialy begging for a allweapons tier not for its actual use but just because it would be funny to make him rank 300 weapons. I wouldn't say ignorant. She acknowledged this at least in the "shrodingers joke" bit and she mostly seemed annoyed about this general way of going about tier lists. And tbh they can spread people who become VERY confident about misconceptions and misinformation online. Like more than normal. I liked Rusty's video, it was fun to watch and the hot takes and inconsistencies always make for a few fun warzone comment threads as people defend their own "favorite child" weapon that got c tier. But she has a point.
Hey, everything is fine with your video but I don't understand why you are so vicious in criticizing Rusty's video when he made it very clear in the video that it is not a tier list and that possibly there were going to be inconsistencies and strange things, it is noticeable that with some positions I put them in the place where they are simply out of laziness since there are 300 weapons, we must also keep in mind that their opinion is based on experience and focused mainly on pve when your comparisons are almost exclusively in pvp One more thing, I don't understand why if he made the video discarding the shields then why do you use it as an argument? I find that one of the really important things to consider when playing is what moveset works with your playstyle. Both for what movesets you like the rythm of and for what you're trying to achieve. The 4 hit combos on running and jumping attacks with power stanced curved swords is a huge deal when considering weapons for a bleed or frost build, for example.
i think the biggest problem with tier lists like rusty's is that every weapon is directly ranked against one another, and with there being 308 or so in the list, there's so so so many things to consider and compare between every weapon that it's honestly such an astronomical task that by the time you're even halfway through the list, enough time will have passed that your criteria will have probably changed and it's so easy to miss things in a list that big. with that note, i personally do not take rusty's tier lists seriously however i understand he wants them to be. i see them for their entertainment value because i find rusty's presentation hilarious and at the end of the day, i think it doesn't matter who makes the list, everyone is gonna get it wrong
I routinely eat up Rustys content because primarily... I find it entertaining and how he explains things usually gets me to laugh via his cynicism. That aside.. There's virtually zero point to a "best" claim to anything. What's the "Best" Weapon based on Stats in CoD MW2 (The original.. not the crap remake centered around warzone and microtransactions) It's clearly the FAD based on stats. But the M4A1 is still to this day broken and pound for pound performs at beast levels across all considerations. Not the same as Elden ring but it proves the point. And even more so. What's better? The objectively most powerful weapon in Elden ring based on stats in the hands of a 🥔... or bare fists in the hands of an absolute Pro? Use the weapons you want, and Listen to Ranni about unique considerations. I never even considered the stupid Meat Dumpling after I used it once and it healed me.. and then almost killed me. Hadn't even considered just keeping it around for my Mimi Tear. Which I also don't use. But whatever. Now I have a trick in my back pocket that's electric hammer useful when it's not randomly being a sledgehammer. So meh? Use the equipment you want. As I've discovered.. from playing the game on my own. Your mileage may vary.. is that armor makes no real difference early game. I still die in 1-4 hits regardless what I'm wearing. And wearing better armor means I can't use hetter weapons and killing quickly is ALWAYS better than surviving multiple hits doesnt matter if your a fly or a main battle tabk. The key to survivial is not being hit in the first place, instead of relying on armor to tank damage, thats always a bad strategy but can he needed in some cases so its not without merit... it's just.. Weapons are more important than Armor Ash of War is more important than Spirit Ashes Shields work.. if you use them. Use What's fun to you and do what works for you. There's no wrong way to play these games. Unless you're trying to make friends with the Dung Eater. That's the only wrong way to play this game.
Clearly the problem is that any video that is a "tier list" is being promoted heavily by this current godforsaken iteration of the UA-cam algorithm. At least Rusty is reasonably funny, tho. Unlike Youwy, who is a plague on my recommended feed, and literally makes the most forced and boring videos every created because he clearly recognizes that all he's actually doing is abusing the algorithm to generate ad rev instead of making entertaining content.
Youvy actually gives well thought out constructed tierlists though? Rusty just puts random jumbles together without saying why a weapon is bad and instead makes a 2 second joke. IMO best weapon in the game is Mohgs Plunger. The ash of war trivializes the entire game and is super effective in PvP especially if you dual stance them
My favorite weapon is the Moonveil. Yes, i know. But as I was doing my blind playthrough, staying off youtube, i fell in love with it soon as i got it. Now, with the DLC, i love the Milady, its amazing with the Dance of Swords ash. Love it.
I would love a series of tier lists for each type of weapon where you rank them according to various criteria. F.ex. giving them a tier for PvE, PvP, ew player friendliness, power stance viability etc. I'm a pretty casual ER player, so the amount of terrible tier lists and such isn't helping me much when I try to look something up for what weapon types are worth investing in.
Finally, I love the critism given it just proves that no one is above critism. Some new player might just take rusty's all the tierlist vids on face value and even believe them to be true cus his channel pops up on the search of weapon tierlist and not try new builds or weapons/summons/shields/bows on PvE and PvP. Rusty shitpost videos should be called out. Waifu making sure that these so called tierlist vids doesn't spread misinformation and I LOVE IT. And the mystery weapon seems like URUMI. Keep it up Waifu

Im personlly gonna have to a disagree with this one, rusty ranking the weapon for those reasons are one of the main aspects as of why people want to use said weapons, and if you dont agree then by all means id love to see a video of you ranking every single weapon yourself to see your thoughts on the games weapons as a whole

ye same like I love Ranni but this video feels like it misses some points. such as the vykes (I will be cock riding vykes a bit cause its my fav weapon too) being the only weapon capable of inflicting madness which is true since rusty does not consider shields to be weapons. and also the split damage, vykes is not a 50/50 split and leans heavier to physical so even if an enemy is resistant to fire it would still do its damage. like the criteria for picking weapons aren't isolated and play off of each other. vykes simply is a weapon which flows well and really has 0 downsides other than whether or not you like spears or not.

Rusty made it very apparent that he was trying to make an objective tier list. Yes he of course included his own opinion but still claiming your trying to be objective then being confused when others criticize you with completely valid arguments is definitely way more weird. 3. The video is 14 minutes long Anyways what i'm trying to say is you're allowed to have your own opinions but opinions and objective remarks are two different things. An opinion is your own personal feelings and beliefs which are completely valid (even if they are wrong). Though saying the tier list is objective would mean that it's completely based on fact and not feelings. I would never try to argue about someone's opinions but facts can most definitely be argued over. So instead of just getting mad maybe try to leave discussions like this open as it can lead to deeper understandings of topics for everyone.

They can be used for damage sure, but that’s like saying “cakes spear isn’t the only madness weapon in the game, frenzied burst exists.” It’s a goalpost move. Also putting dark moon GS as number 1 is hilarious. Don’t get me wrong it’s a fucking great weapon, but bleed is better than frost imo and that’s a very flawed way to rank a weapon. People use tools in different ways. Being objective is literally fucking impossible. My favorite PvE setup is damn near the same as let me solo hers. I use a naga and uchi in powerstance with unsheath as my weapon art. DMGS is slow. Its weapon art and heavies are slow. Unsheath is a ridiculous fucking ash and my offhand has bloodhound step as my lazy get out of jail free card. Malenia is my bitch. Now take this as me being an entirely PvE player. I find if you try to rank things for PvE and PvP at the same time you’re going to get nowhere fast. She put DMGS at number 1 yet many would argue dual nagas is the best PvP setup in the game. Basically, we’re taking a stupid ass tier list that was borderline impossible to make with all of the variables at play in this game and took it seriously. For some reason. I think Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear in the best overall weapon in the game! Its good in both PvE and PvP, Duels and Invasions, even farming and cooping, its good on its own and Powerstanced, has high damage and range, good moveset and bleed, deals piercing damage and a absolutely gorgeous design, basically all that from minimum stat requirements all the way to its soft caps... and last but definitely not least, the Ash of War with a massive 360° Area of Effect high damage bleed proccing bubble that... thats just... NIHIL! YEAH NIHIL!

Have you tried the pickaxe? Because it's a great hammer with the speed of an axe, especially the one handed charged R2 which comes out FRIGGIN FAST, it really deserve the high placement. I also think Rusty has bias towards great spear moveset, which I can attest to because great spear moveset is BUSTED, although putting vyke spear up there is pretty strange
Yeah, sure, point noticed. Rusty's ranking is mostly for comedic and entertainment purposes, but you cant just call it "wrong." You may disagree, you may call it out, you may make fun of it. However, I dare you to make a ranking of every weapon, weapon art, special art, gesture, sorcery, incantation, etc. and only then will you begin to understand how difficult it is to be consistent while doing it.
Quick note for the other folks mentioning it in the comments, yes Rusty did indeed clarify later that he should've put Mohg's spear as number 1 Direct quote from a community post: "Yeah, Mohg's spear should've been #1, my bad....." And in fairness, most of these are for shits and giggles, he did indeed make some mistakes here but a lot of it was for laughs, plus as other people have mentioned, this one has kinda been expected/asked for for quite a while
Mohgwyn great spear build makes you a complete monster in pve for sure and it's also very good for pvp due to the huge bleed build up and being one of the longest poking spears. Hiding behind finger shield and poking enemies to oblivion is a choice lmao

I really appreciated the little tier list. The humor is always supreme. And yeah I don't think rusty had a clear idea to how rank most weapons in elden ring he mixed pve here, pvp there and some bosses there with only hyper buff builds. And I agree with you. For example the Dark Moon Greatsword is one of my favorites and is relatively efective against any brainless mob, but is useless in some scenario for example the invisible black knife assassin. Cause I could aimed, was slow, and has such slow moveset, while a scythe was far better. And there are many examples like that. And in PVP the beams are near useless. Please, I would like to check your tier list from each type of weapon.
dark moon greatsword fills the niche as a mana saver against regular enemies that can reliably be oneshot by a heavy or charged attack, since it has *very* low requirements outside of int, but it alone isn't going to carry through every boss. Many bosses are a lot safer when fought without your most damaging attack being a swing that takes a second to hit, has rather low range compared to sorceries, and leaves you vulnerable the entire time. Issues with heavy hitting sorceries like comet azur that leave you wide open are negated by the fact that you can hit from much farther away and landing it at the right time ends the fight immediately, which saves its use as a situational boss killer that you pull out after the boss uses one of its own attacks that leaves itself wide open, or after stance breaking them with other attacks. Sorceries that do similar damage to dark moon have much longer range, better tracking or cast faster than dark moon's heavy, with the only downside being mana cost, which usually doesn't matter because "doing similar damage to dark moon with longer range/better tracking that doesn't leave you wide open" actually just means "the boss dies before they can even touch you."
How is "trying to be objective" confusing to you? He said that because its impossible to be objective with any ranking/tierliest. The reason why you try anyway is because the result is a tidy summation of what the creator values. It wouldn't be any fun if he just rolled a dice to see what ends up where. Another thing that bothered me is that you said "everyone agreed with him" with a screenshot of nobody agreeing with him. Rather, nobody was agreeing or disagreeing. They were just having fun watching the absurdity of someone trying their absolute hardest to rank 300 things. Also, the screenshot on 7:48 proves that it's not a Schrodinger's joke. Ranking all weapons has been a long standing joke that has been referenced in multiple videos leading up to this one. The joke, again, is that it would be absurd if someone were to try their hardest to rank 300 things. Even if the ranking was meant to be taken seriously, cherry picking the placement of around 7 weapons out of 300, then calling the whole ranking bad, is quite petty and is objectively bad criticism. Even more petty is that your "correct ranking" to "prove it's possible to be objective" only has 5 weapons of your own choosing.
it is possible to be objective with any ranking/tierlist, the ranking criteria just need to be based on objective measures. If it was just a joke to rank the weapons why would he claim to be aiming for objectivity? It's not only the ranking itself that is flawed because it doesn't seem to have any form of consistent criteria it also suffers from contradictions on what is valued about the weapons, even if it wasn't a ranking and just a rant about his opinions on weapons it would still be flawed because of that.
People lack reading comprehension. "Trying to be objective" is very clearly different than "This list is 100% objective" but people CHOOSE not to read it like that. Like they CHOOSE to go on about the Fingerprint Shield after already mentioning that Rusty specifically chose not to include shields. Even if someone claimed to be totally objective, you could still disagree with the conclusions because you disagree with the objective criteria.

As always, I try as hard as I can to be objective, but with a video this enormous in size, points will have holes and details will be skimmed.
The people that are mad about Rusty's videos are actually manchilds, It clearly shows that people will lose their marbles if THEIR opinion isn't the one being put on the screen. There is nothing wrong with Rusty's video, there are 300 weapons in the game and you can't rank all of them in one video and make a deep analysis for each, It's a subjective list (mostly) that he outright tells you about before starting, and I love how his lists never catter to the majority of the fanbase and actually try to be unique and different based on placements regardless of reason. His tier lists are easily the best, even if you disagree with some of his placements, they're still informative, fun, and most importantly, entertaining. If anything his videos highlight the hypocrisy of the community, they'll tell you "LiStS aRe AlL sUbJecTIve AnYwaYs" but then the moment they don't see what they want in the proper placement they lose their mind. Majority of the community don't even know how scalling or MV works to begin with, so If anything rusty is much more qualified to tell you about certain weapons stats than most others, check his scalling video for example.

I am not going to lie, you really just pulled this out of nowhere. Not saying Rusty is immune to criticism, which he very much is not, but you just had to pick the one guy who's entire gimmick is modding and goofy tier lists.
I agree with a lot of the criticism you bring up but it seems like Rusty's video wasn't necessarily something that should be too harshly seeing as he mentions that he had weapon design as a factor for the tier list in the first section of the video which can't really be objectively rated. Either way, I didn't notice some of these picks of his due to the length of the video which was interesting to hear explainations against them.
I just beat elden ring recently for the first time and had an absolute blast. While tier lists are fine to make, honestly most weapons work well enough on the PVE front from my experience. I’m not big on the pvp side but the few times I’ve tried it I could hold my own with whatever I was carrying. (Still got my ass handed to me a few times)

Last year waifu came giving criticism over the “secret starting class” series taking it at face value and not really acknowledging the fact that obviously it’s not a real starting class it’s just a fun playthrough with a specific build or cosplay in mind. Proceeded to get ratio’d afterwards, and while I understand Waifu’s typical way of coming across especially with their criticisms, I’m fine with that, but it’s different when things are less of a comprehensive discussion with some constructive criticism, while also taking into account the nature of the videos or the content creator as a whole. Criticism is fine but if you aren’t taking into account any other aspects that go into it, it’s still criticism but doesn’t come across as constructive, just dick measuring.

Rusty definitely makes some weird decisions now and then with his lists but the fact he made a nearly 3 hour long video of over 300 weapons that managed to be entertaining the whole way through and your retort list is only a top 5 that wasn’t even 3 and a half minutes…definitely feels like throwing shade for zero actual reason. Should he have specified the criteria more? Definitley. Did OF need to be so nitpicky though? I don’t think so. Love the OnlyWaifu content but this one definitley cold.

The thing about teir lists is that they are all (mostly) opinion based. I find that rusty was more fair then others with how he ranked the weapons, but using the giant crusher as an example, he said that he didn't like it due to the clunky movement. Purely opinion based. While I don't see the need to give to criticism to such things I do hope you have a good day.

My favorite weapon since Demon Souls has been the ever humble Longsword, not the best but has been reliable and slayed Alant, Gwyn, Artorias, Manus, Fume Knight, The Ivory King, Soul of Cinder and Gael. Love it.

1) This video is *NOT* meant to spread hate towards Rusty nor is it a personal attack towards him, as some people are making it out to be. It is merely criticizing his goofy ahh Tier List, which is *NOT* above criticism. I sincerely can't believe that I have to clarify this to an audience of grown adults who believe that I'm "spreading hate", but here we are.
2) I know, the KG and the BKG have the same moveset, I made a boo boo there.
3) I got another thing wrong. Fingerprint shield is NOT the ONLY other madness weapon. That'd be the Frenzy Seal too. Only that Fingerprint is a million times better and worthy of mention. It also felt right because he included torches (which are not weapons per se either)
4) I know he mentioned that Mohg's spear should've been #1, but that's like saying "yeah, Apples make better hammers than Oranges". It still would not be #1 according to his criteria (but Mohg's is actually quite good)
5) If you believe Rusty's list should not be criticized because "it's not serious" (despite he claiming that he tried to be objective as possible), then does that mean that you should not criticize my video if I claim it's a joke too? 🤔

Hey, everything is fine with your video but I don't understand why you are so vicious in criticizing Rusty's video when he made it very clear in the video that it is not a tier list and that possibly there were going to be inconsistencies and strange things, it is noticeable that with some positions I put them in the place where they are simply out of laziness since there are 300 weapons, we must also keep in mind that their opinion is based on experience and focused mainly on pve when your comparisons are almost exclusively in pvp
One more thing, I don't understand why if he made the video discarding the shields then why do you use it as an argument? It doesn't make sense, it's like I make a tier list of the Halo weapons and you complain that I didn't put the vehicles since several of them have weapons attached

I find that one of the really important things to consider when playing is what moveset works with your playstyle. Both for what movesets you like the rythm of and for what you're trying to achieve. The 4 hit combos on running and jumping attacks with power stanced curved swords is a huge deal when considering weapons for a bleed or frost build, for example.
Yeah I got a bit concerned when he said that rain was a major downside to Blasphemous Blade.
i think the biggest problem with tier lists like rusty's is that every weapon is directly ranked against one another, and with there being 308 or so in the list, there's so so so many things to consider and compare between every weapon that it's honestly such an astronomical task that by the time you're even halfway through the list, enough time will have passed that your criteria will have probably changed and it's so easy to miss things in a list that big.
with that note, i personally do not take rusty's tier lists seriously however i understand he wants them to be. i see them for their entertainment value because i find rusty's presentation hilarious and at the end of the day, i think it doesn't matter who makes the list, everyone is gonna get it wrong

Now I have a trick in my back pocket that's electric hammer useful when it's not randomly being a sledgehammer.

Use the equipment you want. As I've discovered.. from playing the game on my own. Your mileage may vary.. is that armor makes no real difference early game. I still die in 1-4 hits regardless what I'm wearing. And wearing better armor means I can't use hetter weapons and killing quickly is ALWAYS better than surviving multiple hits doesnt matter if your a fly or a main battle tabk. The key to survivial is not being hit in the first place, instead of relying on armor to tank damage, thats always a bad strategy but can he needed in some cases so its not without merit... it's just..
Weapons are more important than Armor
Ash of War is more important than Spirit Ashes
Shields work.. if you use them.
Use What's fun to you and do what works for you.

Clearly the problem is that any video that is a "tier list" is being promoted heavily by this current godforsaken iteration of the UA-cam algorithm. At least Rusty is reasonably funny, tho. Unlike Youwy, who is a plague on my recommended feed, and literally makes the most forced and boring videos every created because he clearly recognizes that all he's actually doing is abusing the algorithm to generate ad rev instead of making entertaining content.

IMO best weapon in the game is Mohgs Plunger. The ash of war trivializes the entire game and is super effective in PvP especially if you dual stance them

I would love a series of tier lists for each type of weapon where you rank them according to various criteria. F.ex. giving them a tier for PvE, PvP, ew player friendliness, power stance viability etc. I'm a pretty casual ER player, so the amount of terrible tier lists and such isn't helping me much when I try to look something up for what weapon types are worth investing in.
Finally, I love the critism given it just proves that no one is above critism. Some new player might just take rusty's all the tierlist vids on face value and even believe them to be true cus his channel pops up on the search of weapon tierlist and not try new builds or weapons/summons/shields/bows on PvE and PvP. Rusty shitpost videos should be called out. Waifu making sure that these so called tierlist vids doesn't spread misinformation and I LOVE IT.

ye same like I love Ranni but this video feels like it misses some points. such as the vykes (I will be cock riding vykes a bit cause its my fav weapon too) being the only weapon capable of inflicting madness which is true since rusty does not consider shields to be weapons. and also the split damage, vykes is not a 50/50 split and leans heavier to physical so even if an enemy is resistant to fire it would still do its damage. like the criteria for picking weapons aren't isolated and play off of each other. vykes simply is a weapon which flows well and really has 0 downsides other than whether or not you like spears or not.

1. It's completely normal for anyone to get some sort of criticism based on opinions or remarks they have made online, hell you and I are doing that right now.
2. Rusty made it very apparent that he was trying to make an objective tier list. Yes he of course included his own opinion but still claiming your trying to be objective then being confused when others criticize you with completely valid arguments is definitely way more weird.

An opinion is your own personal feelings and beliefs which are completely valid (even if they are wrong). Though saying the tier list is objective would mean that it's completely based on fact and not feelings. I would never try to argue about someone's opinions but facts can most definitely be argued over. So instead of just getting mad maybe try to leave discussions like this open as it can lead to deeper understandings of topics for everyone.

People use tools in different ways. Being objective is literally fucking impossible. My favorite PvE setup is damn near the same as let me solo hers. I use a naga and uchi in powerstance with unsheath as my weapon art. DMGS is slow. Its weapon art and heavies are slow. Unsheath is a ridiculous fucking ash and my offhand has bloodhound step as my lazy get out of jail free card. Malenia is my bitch.
Now take this as me being an entirely PvE player. I find if you try to rank things for PvE and PvP at the same time you’re going to get nowhere fast. She put DMGS at number 1 yet many would argue dual nagas is the best PvP setup in the game.
Basically, we’re taking a stupid ass tier list that was borderline impossible to make with all of the variables at play in this game and took it seriously. For some reason. The context you're looking for is a thing called tone of voice and the usage of words. Which are very quickly obvious to be satirical and unserious in his video. It'd be like watching Monty Pythons Holy Grail and getting mad that its not an accurate retelling of the King Arthur story.
He worked with 300 weapons and acknowledged his list could be faulty, tried to be as objective and unbiased as possible, YOU even pointed out he left out all shields and made a separate video and still decided to attack that for some reason, i just dont see how you could sit here and act like you’re exposing him for lying or something. Ranking every weapon in the game will realistically come with some faults

I think Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear in the best overall weapon in the game!
Its good in both PvE and PvP, Duels and Invasions, even farming and cooping, its good on its own and Powerstanced, has high damage and range, good moveset and bleed, deals piercing damage and a absolutely gorgeous design, basically all that from minimum stat requirements all the way to its soft caps... and last but definitely not least, the Ash of War with a massive 360° Area of Effect high damage bleed proccing bubble that... thats just... NIHIL! YEAH NIHIL!

Have you tried the pickaxe? Because it's a great hammer with the speed of an axe, especially the one handed charged R2 which comes out FRIGGIN FAST, it really deserve the high placement. I also think Rusty has bias towards great spear moveset, which I can attest to because great spear moveset is BUSTED, although putting vyke spear up there is pretty strange
Yeah, sure, point noticed. Rusty's ranking is mostly for comedic and entertainment purposes, but you cant just call it "wrong." You may disagree, you may call it out, you may make fun of it. However, I dare you to make a ranking of every weapon, weapon art, special art, gesture, sorcery, incantation, etc. and only then will you begin to understand how difficult it is to be consistent while doing it.

Mohgwyn great spear build makes you a complete monster in pve for sure and it's also very good for pvp due to the huge bleed build up and being one of the longest poking spears. Hiding behind finger shield and poking enemies to oblivion is a choice lmao

And I agree with you. For example the Dark Moon Greatsword is one of my favorites and is relatively efective against any brainless mob, but is useless in some scenario for example the invisible black knife assassin. Cause I could aimed, was slow, and has such slow moveset, while a scythe was far better. And there are many examples like that.
And in PVP the beams are near useless.
Please, I would like to check your tier list from each type of weapon.
dark moon greatsword fills the niche as a mana saver against regular enemies that can reliably be oneshot by a heavy or charged attack, since it has *very* low requirements outside of int, but it alone isn't going to carry through every boss. Many bosses are a lot safer when fought without your most damaging attack being a swing that takes a second to hit, has rather low range compared to sorceries, and leaves you vulnerable the entire time. Issues with heavy hitting sorceries like comet azur that leave you wide open are negated by the fact that you can hit from much farther away and landing it at the right time ends the fight immediately, which saves its use as a situational boss killer that you pull out after the boss uses one of its own attacks that leaves itself wide open, or after stance breaking them with other attacks. Sorceries that do similar damage to dark moon have much longer range, better tracking or cast faster than dark moon's heavy, with the only downside being mana cost, which usually doesn't matter because "doing similar damage to dark moon with longer range/better tracking that doesn't leave you wide open" actually just means "the boss dies before they can even touch you."

How is "trying to be objective" confusing to you? He said that because its impossible to be objective with any ranking/tierliest. The reason why you try anyway is because the result is a tidy summation of what the creator values. It wouldn't be any fun if he just rolled a dice to see what ends up where.
Another thing that bothered me is that you said "everyone agreed with him" with a screenshot of nobody agreeing with him. Rather, nobody was agreeing or disagreeing. They were just having fun watching the absurdity of someone trying their absolute hardest to rank 300 things.
Also, the screenshot on 7:48 proves that it's not a Schrodinger's joke. Ranking all weapons has been a long standing joke that has been referenced in multiple videos leading up to this one. The joke, again, is that it would be absurd if someone were to try their hardest to rank 300 things.
Even if the ranking was meant to be taken seriously, cherry picking the placement of around 7 weapons out of 300, then calling the whole ranking bad, is quite petty and is objectively bad criticism. Even more petty is that your "correct ranking" to "prove it's possible to be objective" only has 5 weapons of your own choosing.
it is possible to be objective with any ranking/tierlist, the ranking criteria just need to be based on objective measures. If it was just a joke to rank the weapons why would he claim to be aiming for objectivity? It's not only the ranking itself that is flawed because it doesn't seem to have any form of consistent criteria it also suffers from contradictions on what is valued about the weapons, even if it wasn't a ranking and just a rant about his opinions on weapons it would still be flawed because of that.
People lack reading comprehension. "Trying to be objective" is very clearly different than "This list is 100% objective" but people CHOOSE not to read it like that. Like they CHOOSE to go on about the Fingerprint Shield after already mentioning that Rusty specifically chose not to include shields. Even if someone claimed to be totally objective, you could still disagree with the conclusions because you disagree with the objective criteria.

All weapons were ranked with all kinds of different criteria in mind. How fun the movesets/animations are, how effective they are against however many types of enemies, damage, range, consistency, just about everything down to how they look artistically. Which means you absolutely should not use this video as your only source for this topic. As always, I try as hard as I can to be objective, but with a video this enormous in size, points will have holes and details will be skimmed.
The people that are mad about Rusty's videos are actually manchilds, It clearly shows that people will lose their marbles if THEIR opinion isn't the one being put on the screen.
There is nothing wrong with Rusty's video, there are 300 weapons in the game and you can't rank all of them in one video and make a deep analysis for each, It's a subjective list (mostly) that he outright tells you about before starting, and I love how his lists never catter to the majority of the fanbase and actually try to be unique and different based on placements regardless of reason.
His tier lists are easily the best, even if you disagree with some of his placements, they're still informative, fun, and most importantly, entertaining.
If anything his videos highlight the hypocrisy of the community, they'll tell you "LiStS aRe AlL sUbJecTIve AnYwaYs" but then the moment they don't see what they want in the proper placement they lose their mind. Majority of the community don't even know how scalling or MV works to begin with, so If anything rusty is much more qualified to tell you about certain weapons stats than most others, check his scalling video for example.

Everyone knows that the Noble's Slender Sword is the best weapon in Elden Ring. It has the Longsword moveset, which is the best moveset. Forget those penniless pretenders with their fancy weapon arts, explosions, teleports and all that voodoo. You are nobility. Your puissance is yours alone, your weapon is just an accessory to that.
It is looooong. A whole peasant's hand longer than those filthy longswords the soldiers use. Long weapons have long hitboxes. Poke your dissidents before they can dirty your attire. Then laugh at them for being poor.
It gets top of the line in Dexterity scaling and takes exceptionally well to elemental infusions, for those with discriminating taste. Strength builders can even get it up to A, just please use Soap first. As if you were the type to get into fisticuffs anyway - that's what summons are for!
It has 110 crit modifier, because people who parry a lot are just better than everybody else. Backstabbing, too, is very appropriate for a nobleman.
It has rock bottom requirements. Even your noodly-armed Astrologers and Bandits can pick it up right away, without wasting points in Strength like a pack animal. Being an aristocrat is easy.

I am not going to lie, you really just pulled this out of nowhere. Not saying Rusty is immune to criticism, which he very much is not, but you just had to pick the one guy who's entire gimmick is modding and goofy tier lists.
I agree with a lot of the criticism you bring up but it seems like Rusty's video wasn't necessarily something that should be too harshly seeing as he mentions that he had weapon design as a factor for the tier list in the first section of the video which can't really be objectively rated. Either way, I didn't notice some of these picks of his due to the length of the video which was interesting to hear explainations against them.

I just beat elden ring recently for the first time and had an absolute blast. While tier lists are fine to make, honestly most weapons work well enough on the PVE front from my experience. I’m not big on the pvp side but the few times I’ve tried it I could hold my own with whatever I was carrying. (Still got my ass handed to me a few times)
Congratulations are in order. I'm curious, what boss gave you the most trouble? For me it was Horoah Loux and his delayed/traveling suplex grabs lol.

Last year waifu came giving criticism over the “secret starting class” series taking it at face value and not really acknowledging the fact that obviously it’s not a real starting class it’s just a fun playthrough with a specific build or cosplay in mind. Proceeded to get ratio’d afterwards, and while I understand Waifu’s typical way of coming across especially with their criticisms, I’m fine with that, but it’s different when things are less of a comprehensive discussion with some constructive criticism, while also taking into account the nature of the videos or the content creator as a whole. Criticism is fine but if you aren’t taking into account any other aspects that go into it, it’s still criticism but doesn’t come across as constructive, just dick measuring.

Rusty definitely makes some weird decisions now and then with his lists but the fact he made a nearly 3 hour long video of over 300 weapons that managed to be entertaining the whole way through and your retort list is only a top 5 that wasn’t even 3 and a half minutes…definitely feels like throwing shade for zero actual reason. Should he have specified the criteria more? Definitley. Did OF need to be so nitpicky though? I don’t think so. Love the OnlyWaifu content but this one definitley cold.

Though if you look deeper you can see these are genuine points that he's trying to get across. Though his way of doing so may be distasteful to others as it does come off in a sort of aggressive manor.

And he even said his list was his personal ratings, and should be taken with a grain of salt. Dude knows what is fun to him and what he likes. It's only a problem when others interpret it as him saying these are hard meta facts, when it's clear from the start he made a point to say that's not what his list is about. Worst. By far the worst Elden Ring content creator on UA-cam. You offer nothing constructive, cherry pick lines, call them lies, and twist words just to have a fit. I've yet to see you actually deconstruct a video in a way that didn't pander to the outrage points you are trying to make.
The thing about teir lists is that they are all (mostly) opinion based. I find that rusty was more fair then others with how he ranked the weapons, but using the giant crusher as an example, he said that he didn't like it due to the clunky movement. Purely opinion based.

Opinion based is cool but saying stuff like "this weapon is bad because it has fire damage" and on other weapons saying "this weapon is good because it has fire damage" is laughable

@@heibk-2019the troll's hammer is bad because the actual fire damage is miniscule and is a colossal weapon, eleonora's poleblade is a great twinblade with arcane scaling that greatly increases the fire damage and bleed build up it does, take a guess why they are so far appart, you boiling down his criticism to split damage bad when mohg's spear is second on the list shows you've not payed attention to his tiering

Yes you can, if you use the fingerprint stone shield with an arcane build you can 2-hand it and bash into people to give a lot of madness buildup. (Talking pvp obviously)

My favorite weapon since Demon Souls has been the ever humble Longsword, not the best but has been reliable and slayed Alant, Gwyn, Artorias, Manus, Fume Knight, The Ivory King, Soul of Cinder and Gael.
