2016 Toyota Camry XLE V6 - Redline: Review

- Widely known for being a bland, transportation appliance; enthusiast often forget how a Camry can also be known as the hot-rod within the family sedan segment when equipped with Toyota's potent V6, let's drive the 2016 Camry XLE V6 and see if it still deserves a look within this crowded family sedan market.
Talking about other cars getting more “bang for your buck” camrys are arguably the most reliable cars besides corollas
A lot of Toyotas are reliable. I've had a 2017 RAV-4 for a bit already, and have had no issues, other than changing my brake pads once.
@@TonyKimtheamusementparkfan Had a Corolla. Loved it until a freak accident took it too soon. Now if you are looking for a used Corolla GOOD LUCK. I will be looking at a nice Camry later today.
I've been driving my 2015 XSE V6 Camry for over a year now & it's been fantastic! Feels very solid & well built! The V6 is VERY powerful, super smooth, sounds great & I'll never get tired of it! Very happy with my purchase! My mom may buy a Camry soon too, but the XLE with the 4-cylinder.
I have the same vehicle and just convinced my mom to get a 2016 se lol
@@dpolendo Nice! My brother bought my Camry a few years ago as I first upgraded to a 2017 Lexus IS200t F-Sport & now a 2016 Lexus GS350 F-Sport that I bought a year & a half ago with 41k miles, now with 54k miles. My mom has a 2017 XLE Camry 4-cylinder which now has 52k miles with no problems so far, same with my Camry as well as both of my Lexus' as expected. I'll likely continue to buy Toyota/Lexus vehicles for the rest of my life.
I have a 2021 SE! Love it, it's a great car!
@@DisneyMusicVideos I had the 4cyl XSE, traded it in for a 2015 Avalon w V6. I love it
Everyone should own a Toyota Camry. There's a reason it's the best-selling car in America. No other mid-size sedan deserves to exist. The Camry is a perfect car.
Yeah I dislike Chevy and fords sedans, they are waaaack. Only sedan I think is sick is the optima.
Definitely wouldn’t say it’s perfect lack’s some features like rwd and they are usually behind in tech and luxuries that other brands in the same category
No such thing as "perfect."
I have the 2014 XLE, I'm 35, not single but no kids, and I tested 7 cars before I made the decision, reason why I picked the Camry over the Fusion (I narrowed to those two) Acceleration, comfortable and is very quiet, as an editor, and also a personal trainer, I want silence when I get my job done, and when I did my test drive, I was amazed on how quiet this car is, not an issue with it, not a single one. But comparing it to a Honda (my first choice then I dumped it) is that Honda is doing with Accord, what Mitsubishi is doing with the Lancer. Since 2008 is the same car with a nose job, boob job, fillers and botox! But it's basically the same car. It gets me when they feature the Accord as "completely redesigned" but I'm seeing the same car but with not plastic surgeries, just beauty enhancers. And with the Altima, three letters C V T
And I'm a Volvo/Acura fan. This is my first Toyota Ever
CVT is trash. I want to buy a 2016 Camry or rav4. Learning more toward a Camry..
I have one of these myself and love it. I have the 4-cylinder variant though, but it still drives great. Obviously not as powerful as the V6, but still more than adequate for doing things like getting on the highway, passing other cars, and other things. I would have to disagree with what was said about the leather being uncomfortable though. One of the 1st official drives I did with it when I first got it was a 4 hour drive, and I had no problems with comfort on that long drive. Granted, I did do one stop for gas and food, but I digress. Everyone has different opinions about these kinds of things, so results vary widely from person to person. Just appreciate the creature comforts you're getting in this trim of the Camry and you'll learn to get used to it.
As for what was said about the backup camera not having trajectory, it does and doesn't. It does in the sense that when pulling out of a parking spot, if a car is crossing behind you, the system will do 3 series of 3 beeps when that happens. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that it does that thanks to the blind spot monitoring system since the first few times I've heard those beeps when backing out of a spot and having a car cross behind me, I've seen one of those indicators flash along with the beeps depending on what of your bumper/blind spot the other car is crossing by. Other than that, you're on your own when it comes to backing up and not getting too close to other objects. But hey, at least a backup camera comes standard and it has guidance lines to give you some sort of bearing as to how close you're getting to another object or car.
Yeah! I saw that big SMILE on your face flooring it. Nice review.
Lmao the Camry has the same engine since like 2007 and still has better acceleration than pretty much the rest
Accord was always on top in that area
@@SIIKAP1 Camry's better

I bought an I4 XSE about 6 months ago due to the value proposition. The dealer knocked $6000 off MSRP and I got my car for a ridiculously cheap price. My family has always driven Toyota/Lexus products with a few Hondas here and there, so that also influenced my decision. I thought about getting a Mazda 6 but I would have had to pay much more for all of the features I wanted and I really didn't want to pay more than $25K for a midsize sedan. I got a Camry with an MSRP of $31K for $24K and it'll be a great daily driver for the next 5-10 years. The next car I buy will be more performance oriented and the Camry will always be my trusted workhorse.
if you bargain right, you can always buy a car below MSRP even together with taxes and all the fees. I bought a Sienna XLE with a few added things for 34800 when MSRP was 38k+, in the beginning with taxes and fees they told me 43000, haha. Generally from upgraded version you can knock off more than from a basic car. If you know off 6000 from this one, but from a basic one you probably would only take off 2k or so
Reading this in 2023
And wow, the world has changed 😂
2016 LE 2.5 commuter, 55,000.
Changing to Michelin tires quieted and smoothed the ride considerably. No problems and that’s why I bought it. The 2.5 liter is adequate.
It fills every need and I’m comfortable. I’ve saved a lot of money choosing this car. Since I’m cheep that makes sense.
I really love that v6 smoothness, nice review man!
i also like the v6 camrys. definitely a sleeper. though i would rather have an accord v6
+Veyronp87 Only if it's the 6 speed manual. If you want an auto stick with the Toyota. They make way more reliable automatic transmissions.
+krauser979 iPhone Honda fix their 6-speed transmission?!
k ryan84
Their 6 speeds are ok probably the best automatic tranny Honda has right now. Still not nearly as good as Toyota or Mazda's 6 speed auto's since some people still have problems in the cold with Honda Autos. BMW's 8 speed is the best automatic transmission out there right now.
+Veyronp87 I agree. The Accords 2 tiered screen deal looks nice but is unnecessary compared to the ergonomic, intuitive Camry interior. People also complained about the Accord 6-speed tranny vibrating at certain speeds which made me uneasy to drop 30+ on it so now I have a Camry. Camry is nice but I still like the handling, faster shifting trans and engine note of the Accord better. Pity the needlessly busy/complex center stack. And now they have no physical buttons on the console for the radio. Very lame Honda smh
👍 I can't knock the Accord V6.
Hey Sofyan, Yet another excellent video. Dying to hear your behind the wheel comments on the 2016 Honda Accord.
+Atul Mohan I'm dying to show you guys my thoughts on the 2016 Accord. I've asked Honda for one, it'll probably be in the spring :)
-Sofyan
My friend had an Avalon and it was surprisingly quick.
lexus isn't the only reason they are giving you features, uh they need to give you a reason to buy the Avalon.. must of forgot this isn't the top toyota
These experts crack me up. This dude praises the Mazda 6 which for me was constantly back to the dealership with issues. This Camry he forgot to say it has the BEST RELIABILITY.
I like the way you give yourself credit for Toyota changing their grill. You and all the other “enthusiasts.” This coming from a guy that wants pano sun roofs in every car he opines about. Can’t wait til you stay focus and just review what the car comes with instead of wishing what you think it needs to come with. I watch a lot of reviewers on UA-cam, you do offer a different perspective, a little whiny at times but overall you’re still on my top ten ✌🏾and that’s my opinion
I'm not one to really comment negatively on a video, but this "review" was horrible. None of your critiques were anything other than personal preferences. You don't like the seat color? They have other ones. Yeah, it's not a Lexus, and that's the point. Toyota isn't struggling to sell their luxury cars like Honda is with Acura. The fanboy card can't be played on me as I've said many times that I'm a fan of the Accord (with videos to prove that.) My point is, the Camry is a solid overall car. You have a job as an automotive critic and servant of the public to present non-biased genuine information to inform the public and thats simply not present in this video. Ultimately you've told viewers to go buy an Accord or 6 because you prefer them more. Clearly, the general public understands as seen through the Camry's sales figures are higher. Don't forget about actual purchase price-- Toyota discounts Camry's fairly well and you'll walk out the door paying in the upper mid $20's for this while Honda will drive the price north of $35k.
+David C Schlesinger David you have no place in this conversation and this will be my one and only reply to you. You have completely misinterpreted my comment. Clearly Sofyan is a great and popular reviewer with 6000 views in 24 hours, far more than myself and God knows more than you get. My point is that a great many consumers will watch this video when in the market for a midsized sedan-- this video does no justice for those consumers as it simply tells buyers to shop elsewhere because it isn't the car Sofyan likes. I offered constructive criticism and by no means intended to be rude. Yes, reviewers should offer their personal opinions. Distaste of seat color and other personal preferences such as styling and wheel choices should remain off-limits to any credible auto journalist. Watch any of the big names (Voelk, Hammes, etc) and you'll see what I mean. Please do something better with your time than patrol comments on a video you've clearly already watched.
+brorowcarwiz Brooks, I think you may have slightly misinterpreted the point I was trying to convey in this review. I agree with you on the Camry being a solid car, it's by no means, a bad car. Its just, when you get the chance to drive its competitors back to back, you really start to see the weaknesses in the Camry's armor. The V6 engine is still potent, the interior is roomy, simple, and easy to use, the reliability and resale value will undoubtably be excellent. Those are all reasons why you should buy a Camry. However, it's my job to inform you guys what my thoughts are for each vehicle. By no means, do I have any "hate" for a specific brand, I've actually always had a soft spot for Camry's [it was my very first car when I got my driver's license, after all] but for the price that Toyota is asking for this XLE V6, it was seriously lacking in features that most competitors throw in. Yes, I realize that no one pays MSRP and you probably could get the dealer to knock [at least] $5,000 off the sticker, but keep in mind that the midsize family sedan market sells like crazy, and you'll be able to get a deal on every family sedan that comes from any mainstream automaker. That being said, I would easily recommend a Camry to anyone who has always driven Toyota products or places a high emphasis on a smooth and quiet ride. The Accord and Mazda6 are more taut for sure, however I always mention to you guys that is my personal preference. I like my family sedans to be sportier to drive, offer an interior that tricks you into thinking you bought a luxury car, and offer the latest and best in tech features. If your idea of the perfect family sedan involves all of the Camry's strengths, than I wouldn't fault you for choosing one. But, if you are on the fence and don't have any brand loyalty, then the point of my review is to provide you with my honest, unscripted and blunt critique (which may be exactly what some are looking for, especially after hearing nothing but positives from their friends or families).
Anyways, despite my quibbles with the car, Toyota will continue to sell them as fast as they can make them. Consumers love Camry's and they should, its a great car.
-Sofyan
+brorowcarwiz I also come from a Toyota/Lexus family but I mostly agree with Sofyan. I own a '15 XSE Camry and I mostly bought it due to the value proposition. When a dealer gives you $6K off MSRP, it's kind of hard to turn that down. No other manufacturer came close to that kind of discount. I think most people buy Camrys for this reason nowadays; not because Toyota is offering more car compared to a 6 or Sonata (they're not).
Every Lexus and Toyota that my family has owned never failed us and none of them ever had major problems. Toyota/Lexus attracts a certain type of customer: the smart one.
+brorowcarwiz wasn't that a little rude
you hit the nail on the head if you're going to review leave your bias out of it
+brorowcarwiz I like to hear these guys give their opinions. By the way, I test drove the 2015 Camry and it was the most dreadful car I have ever driven. Solid? I suppose that is true, being as it is a Toyota. It is a solid, dreadful car.
Great review as always. I've been following your channel since you first started. I like how you touched on the audio system in this car. You should do it in all your reviews.
19:14 NOT THE SAME ENGINE. THE IS350 HAS PORT/DIRECT FUEL INJECTION WHILE THE CAMRY HAS ONLY PORT FUEL INJECTION!!!
is350 is a Lexus though, he said Camry
Bronson but still the camry has a 2GR-FE but the IS350 and GS350 has a 2GR-FSE engine with higher compression and more power
I'm glad you finally reviewed a V6 Camry. The XLE is nice, but the XSE is nicer in my opinion. I have a Black XSE V6 with the black interior with the red stitching & it has a very tasteful look. It's sad cause most people pick the 4-cylinder versions & the V6 is a much better & much more exciting engine! I've only seen 4 2015-16 V6 Camry's on the road so far (2 XLE's & 2 XSE's) for the past 8 months that I've been driving mine & I live in SoCal.
+rnorred1986 I also have the xse V6 cam 2015 and also see very very few of the same car on the road, i mostly see only see V4`s Le.
I like how quick it accelerates!
I still think the 2007-2011 was the best designed camry.
Sorry if I sound like a fanboy, but I will usually always pick Honda over Toyota with their basic line up of cars. The Accord and Civic always seemed to have looked better, and performed better (even though the differences can be minuscule) than the Camry or Corolla. Especially with the redesign and face lifts that Honda has brought into 2016 with their cars.
Seems always hard on the Camrys. "Boring transportation appliance". Ummm this is the best selling car in America, MOST people don't buy a Camry to have fun with. They buy Camrys for their practicality and their affordability.
+Max Burgess But just imagine if Toyota got serious and offered a real SE sport V6 Camry, one that had a real suspension that can carve up corner roads, and slalom with the best of them. They would be untouchable.
+alpha7ization lol. just imagining it feels glorious
"They buy it for their practicality and affordability"
So, it's a boring transportation appliance?
***** Yes
+alpha7ization They can be, just install coilovers, other suspension parts and tires and it becomes one.
this dude is obsessed with key fobs
+dave houston I prefer my old fashion key
+ranitidina007 me too
Someone in the comment section requested to show how the Key fobs look. There's a small conversation talking about it somewhere here. If you can't handle modern technology, that's fine. Just keep quiet and let the adults talk.
Chris Sorreda Yes, sir!!!
2016 Honda Accord, specially the sports sedan, looks so much better. I own two Toyotas, had to get the Honda this time
The 2016 accord looks like shit.
+Bao Nguyen Front end.
+Bao Nguyen you do look like
Accord and Civic look better than Camry and Corolla, but they are a bit more expensive and considered a bit less reliable
I was literally just watching your Hyundai Sonata Hybrid review and I had noticed this video had just been added lol.
circket
Still loving my 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE w/Navigation/Rear View Camera.
AND the #1 problem for me when I sat in the 2016, is the seats are VERY HARD compared to the Mazda 6, and the incredibly comfortable leather seats in the Nissan Altima 3.5L!!!!
the seats last long
I very much prefer passive lane departure than active one.
Don't mess with my steering
like make a playlist about "dusty redline reviews" i have never seen older cars being reviewed would seriously help ur channel out. just an idea
+Jesus Avilez We actually have a plan to start bringing back used car reviews to the channel. Stay tuned ;)
Oh nice man thank you. Cant wait to see how much older classic and older cars are sometimes just better designed than the new ones Redline Reviews
That would be a great idea!
Yet Another great review. Very well explained
Good Review. I own a 15 Camry XLE V6 just like this but a different color. I agree with you regarding the driving dynamics. However, I disagree regarding the 6. The 6 is loud, rough riding, and the interior feels smaller. I have been a Honda fan for years but the Accord still has rougher ride than the Camry is only handles a little better. As far as the VW, the cost of ownership will be the killer along with poor resale value.
Wait for V6 camry a long time!
There's no way anyone would get this over the 2016 Accord. The accord looks badasssssss as ******
Nam Tran owned one and traded it in a year later. Hard pass on the Accord. The 2018s are so much better!
Hey Sofyan,
As you mentioned the camry is one of the few mid size sedans still offering a V6. Recently lexus debuted the 2.0 turbo engine. I think this turbo engine will trickle down to the toyota products in the near future. What do you think? And how would the turbo engine compare to the free breathing V6 when it comes to smoothness in power delivery?Would like to hear your thoughts
Keep up the good work redline team
+Samin Sobhani Lexus will be loaning us an NX200t on Monday. We'd love to see the engine trickle down to Toyota products but the potent V6 will surely be missed by us ;)
+Samin Sobhani It WILL be less reliable than the 2GR V6, no matter what. When you thrown in forced-induction on an engine, there always going to be more parts that COULD go wrong.
Now, I'm not saying that the upcoming Toyota 2.0T will be unreliable. I'm sure it will be produced with Japanese quality, but as for comparison with the current V6, it won't be as smooth, and won't have all that power at once to match the 2GR's torque. It will most likely have better fuel efficiency - most Camry buyers don't really use full throttle on their cars, so most won't use the boost unless coming onto the freeway.
+masterwhopper414 Toyota has some experience with turbo charged engines. They did a few in the 90s. More parts increases complexity but if anyone can make an engine reliable, it's toyota. The consumers in this price category value fuel economy and ride comfort more than anything else. Replacement of the thirsty(thirsty is a relative term nowadays) 3.5 V6 was inevitable.
I won't be surprised if toyota develops a smaller turbo charged engine to replace the 2.5 I4. Honda with their 1.5 turbo has really stepped up their game. Real world testing has produced fuel economy of 40+ highway mpg and combining that with better than ever performance. I can say the same about Mazda. I expect toyota to make some changes on the smaller engine as well.
I can believe that, Ford and Hyundai are having success with their turbo-I4's, specifically their 2.0Ts. Performance and efficiency. Yes Toyota does have experience with turbo engines (MR2 and Supra come to mind), but as of the 2000s, they've been focusing on their TRD supercharging as an afterthought package. Whatever the case may be, V6s will become rare.
+Samin Sobhani Ima graba naturally aspirated V6 for reliability's sake before they become a thing of the past. Until the manufacturers start replacing the 6s in the minivans and suvs with 4s, I doubt a quick move to a turbo 4 will come about soon. The Only benefit I see to a Turbo 4 in a mid size family sedan vs. a V6 is that the 4 will make for a potentially sportier drive with better weight distribution between front and back.
I wish you had driven a more popular LE 4cly and reviewed that one as well... As always keep up the awesome reviews

I'm driving through Virginia tomorrow. maybe I will see you.

I've always been a Toyota guy but I couldnt help but notice how "floaty" and "boaty" the car was. It looked like you were operating a boat in rough waters at times. I've never cared for Toyota's numb steering. But excellent review as always. Now you must review a Tesla!
If the “door thunk” when shutting were any more solid it would be comparable to a W461 *or for me here in North America* the W463 Mercedes-Benz G-Class. And, owning a 2016 Toyota Camry XLE V6 & a 2014 Mercedes G63 ÂMG also being a dealers license holder and lifetime automotive enthusiast, I would know. I literally have a carbon copy of this on our vehicle in Windstorm White Metallic but with a Black Leather Interior. My 2014 G63 is a true one of one, bespoke ordered by the original owner who flew to the ÂMG production facility in Germany. The exterior is finished in a Designo Magno Matte Metallic (a little darker than Selenite Grey) which is immediately complemented by the interior leather which is designo Titanium Grey Metallic Black with you guessed it, Designo Matte Exclusive Carbon Fiber & Titanium Trim. Believe it or not, the Camry’s build quality is better but the G’s structural rigidity is off the chart with its body on frame design.
Damn it’s quite fast. It really picks up speed
I dig the Mazda 6. The V6 Camry is powerful and straight line fun but the Mazda 6 is fun in most situations. I have the LE Camry and it does give a beautiful ride if that's what you like. Steering is light whereas the steering on the Mazda is like point and go, much more engaging for the driver. Honda is nice but not my taste and Altima has the dreaded CVT.
16:19 dang sofyan! Really pushing it. Wish i could let myself do that to my old es300. But i dont wanna risk breaking it
I have the 2.5 2013 SE and I can sail right on passed people with no issues at all. With the 2.5, it's all in who gets the jump first however.
The comment at 3:13..."The 17 inch wheels are a bit smaller than the 18 in wheels". Haha fail Sofyan. Didn't know if you caught yourself saying that but it was kinda unnecessary. Love the reviews though!
other than reliability honestly what does the camry bring to the table? i dont understand why this is the most popular car in america
Spencer L. r
Reliability.
a combination of good resale value, reliability and this fantastic 3.5 V6 leads me to believe this is a smart choice. It seems to be a great car for those who don't mind compromising. If you can accept what it's not (A RWD sports car) I think anyone who drives any of the 3.5 V6 Camry's will not feel robbed. They sound great too. A total sleeper :) . Now when are we going to see a more powerful engine or a turbo in the 86/BRZ? That's a topic for an entirely different time I know.
i prefer hondas but respect toyota. they make awesome cars and all of our toyotas have lasted a long time. keep it up toyota. just please refine your interiors. camrys are definitely fast with the v6. we have a 2007 and despite the interior its pretty reliable
Why does the 4 cylinders get paddle shifters but the sportier v6 doesn't? Makes no sense.
Is it just me, or does the 3.5 V6 in the Camry sound like Chrysler's 3.6 Pentastar?
Camry , Hyundai or Honda , which is better for value for money ? (2015-2017) range
Even with that I'm ex Toyota fan and currently Honda fan, I believe Camry is more toward family guys, while Accord is more toward sporty.
Good Job Sofyan keep em coming!
As for My opinion on the Camry, well it's too dated and basic for it's price. I mean check, for 35K you still have Hallow doors, hard touch plastics, no trajectory, no parking sensors or park assist, you get the tech package for a couple grand and don't even get a pano. It's too advanced in the Technology game for the Camry to lack this bad. The Madza Looks mean, the Accord looks Fancy, the Hyundai looks Classy, the Chrysler 200 looks Unique, sporty, and fancy all at the same time. Then you have the Camry that doesn't look anything.... The only reason you buy a Camry is because of the space.... That's it. There's nothing special about a Camry that makes you say "Yessss I WANT A CAMRY TODAY!!!" Old people would buy it because it's less technology bullshit that they HATE to deal with, but what young person would spend that amount of money on a decked out Camry, when they can go get a Chrysler 200 and get LOT'S more, and better quality for the same price.
They all have faults, the Chrysler have stupid transmissions with too many gears, Mazda's are loud and slow. Hyundai's are slow and somewhat cramped. I mean they all have faults but the competition have pros that out weigh the cons. The Camry's only pro is Space, and throttle response, that's it... Toyota could have a MUCH better seller in the Camry if they got off their asses.
+omarrianowilson9
Toyota purposely keeps the Camry the way it is to keep Lexus relevant. If Toyota added hand stitched leather, pano roof, more sound insulation, etc. to the Toyota, no one would buy the Lexus. And really...... how many customers are buying the top trim levels of these cars? 85%+ of midsized sedans are powered by 4 cylinders and most Camry on the road are LE and SE trims. Likewise, Accords are mostly Sport, LX, and EX.
Toyota already made that mistake of bringing the camry too upmarket with the 1992-1996 version; I must admit... that was a nice camry. And truly, anyone who bought an ES in that gen was a badge whore as they were literally the same car with the same level of build quality, attention to detail, and aesthetics. It was no wonder that the ES sales took off after they decanted the Camry after that; no camry made after 1997 was made to be as good/even better than the Lexus.
Look at Honda now; anyone who buys the TLX is an idiot because of how good the Accord is. Acura is having huge issues in the market place as the only stuff that sells are the MDX and RDX; everything is a hog wash. And don't get me started on the civic vs. ILX...... I'm sure Acura dealers are tempted buy Civic's now and slap an acura badge in any place a Honda stamp is on the car... it would probably do wonders to their business. The Acura dealer in my town is having problems moving new inventory.... selling used cars is what is keeping them afloat now.
+Nutritional Chemistry The TLX isn't in the same Segment of Vehicle.. The TLX Doesn't compete in that particular segment. Now the ILX Sells the Civic by about 2.5%. So obviously the ILX has some little bit of value. The TLX competes with Lexus and the TLX is NOT far behind in terms of Sales. Acura Sells them at around 4% in my area, so Acura is perfectly fine in it's market.
+David C Schlesinger I understand the fact that the Toyota Camry was never meant to be special. But think about it, almost 36K for a car with Interior Plastics.... That's kinda stupid. The reason why the top trim of the camry will never sell is because it's too expensive with sooo little comfort. They make a powerful and nice sounding V6 but the Motor isn't worth 35k. Nobody is going to load up a Camry and pay 35K just to have the BARE BASICS! The bare basics aren't worth that much. To make Lexus relevant is fine, but why does it have to cost soo much? Who pays that much for basic shit?
+David C Schlesinger
We have a 2007 Toyota Camry XLE V6 fully loaded with the navigation and push button start. 125K and the 2GR-FE engine sounds like it has 25K miles on it, transmission shifts like a dream, and the car has really cool touches like PLASMA CLUSTER ion technology for the HVAC, reclining back seats, and other things like CD holder on the sun visor and numerous storage bins. Oh, and a manual retractable rear sunshade.
The 2007-2011 was the gen when the Camry got ALMOST as many features as the same gen ES. The only ES exclusive things were the Mark Levinson Audio (which Toyota's JBL is also great), Pano roof, rear sunshade that's power operated, and HID headlamps. That's it; a fully loaded camry in that gen can be had with everything else. Interior quality is a different story though lol; an ES would blow our Camry out of the water; and the leather. Personally my favorite gen, regardless of any Toyota hater that thinks that
It is too bad for 2012, Toyota deleted most of those features I noted above... it really gave the Camry a Lexus touch that was absent since the 92-96 gen.
As for lower build quality, the Camry is by far the most solid sedan in the class. Accord is 80% of what the Camry is. I don't know what your talking about there; our Camry feels so solid going down the interstate at 90 MPH.
+omarrianowilson9
Acura is a joke. The last real competitive products in the Acura line-up were the 1st gen TSX, 3rd gen TL, and maybe the previous gen RL line. The TL was doing 70K+ in sales, which was basically as good as the ES, back in 2005-2006. At the end of the 4th gen, it couldn't crack 30K.
Honda made some really stupid executive decisions in the 2000's that they are paying for today, namely the demise of their Acura line. Not improving on their hybrid IMA system was also another bird brain idea; Honda has almost no game in the hybrid market when they were the first to bring a hybrid to America.
But they will come back; I have a 2012 Civic Hybrid myself; love the car.
Looks like the windshield washer fluid reservoir cap was left open when showing the engine bay.
Sofyan, are you ever planning on testing the new Accord if you think it's better than the Camry? I think it's better to, but not by a long shot.
Are those projector headlights ?
Never let a Honda guy do a Toyota review. The next step up from a fully loaded XLE V6 would be a Avalon not a Lexus since the Avalon has the same engine as the Lexus ES more standard features than the ES and cost less.
I actually thought the Camry was completely redesigned for 2015, hence making the 2018 redesign the 9th generation. It looks completely different from the 2012-2014 models.
Glad I’m not the only one. Truly looks like a whole new car/body. I think since it shared the exact same powertrain as the gen before, it made sense to call it a refresh
can you do an older car review? something no one has ever reviewed
The issue with the Camry is the ridiculous decisions in cost cutting especially the front door materials not carring over and the hollow door closing sound. They dont need to be all out premium like Ford and Honda does cause , but they could bring refinement another notch and shouldnt have to make obvious cost cutting.
Don't forget the cardboard thin carpet!
My brother in law has a 2012 Camry and you can tell they cheapened out compared to my uncle's 2011. The 2011 has better quality seats and carpet, not to mention auto windows in all positions.
Nice cars, my dad has the i4. It's a nice driving car but I can't stand the firm seats
Is the alignment off?
+TheAndiBay The alignment looks like it is pulling left, oh, and those tires!
It's the camera.... The camera has a fish eye lens which makes the steering wheel looks like it needs an alignment.
+TheAndiBay Steering wheel isn't centered or the toe angle is out.
Review the new Avalon!
Any plans to review the Lexus IS200T or IS350 soon? Lexus GS350? I'm surprised that the only Lexus review you have is the IS250 which is kinda bottom of the barrel for Lexus. keep up the great reviews!
+David Aggies Hi David! We have a Lexus NX200t scheduled for testing on Monday :). We are looking to get more Lexus models to test in 2016.
+Redline Reviews Thanks. Your review of the 2015 MDX helped me make my 2016 purchase for my wife. Looking to get an IS or GS and would love your review to help again. Looking forward to them.
Hello Sofyan. I'm a big fan of your channel and watch all your videos. I've been stuck for years. I want to know what is better for long term reliability and handling in snow. The two cars in mind are camry sxe and mazda 6. My current car is a 97 Prizm LSI and I've had it for twenty years. I really want that long term reliability and snow handling. An opinion I got from another enthusiast is the Mazda 6 doesn't have that reliability that the camry has. He also said he doesn't know about Mazda 6's snow handling. I thought you would know. I thought for power, if a camry, I would get the V6 for torque and power. I also like pin stripes- definitely for camry; don't know about Mazda 6. So for snow handling and long term reliability, which one would you recommend? Sincerely, Paul.
SLOW DOWN WHEN TALKING..... your stumbling over your words. Great video and explanation of the pros and cons
I love that you like the best DJ in the world Mr ferry Corsten :D
Toyota should stick with V6
I agree and keep it NA.
all I'm seeing mostly is the weak 4 cylinders. sometimes I believe the old Toyota was better then todays; which now have a dull and complex interior. designed to be difficult for home repairs.
The redesigned 2018 Camry thankfully is still going to offer one! It's going to be the new direct injection 3.5L which should produce around 295 HP along with a 8-speed auto for both engines & not a CVT Thank God! That new powertrain is currently used in the Highlander, Sienna & Lexus RX.
Thought the press release said it will be the carryover port injection version with identical power.
V4 is cheaper and saves gas - that's what most people go for. V6 is a cheap car that you can buy and boast that it is faster than a more expensive bmw 3/5 with basic engine, but you still have no money for Lexus ES
Love the new camry look.
Next Year (2017), should I get 2008-2011 Lexus IS250 or 2010-2011 Camry SE V6? Both of them I want in Black.
u need to reveiew the v6 altima, accord and fuzion
Ubiquitous? Is that what you said?
I think you forgot about the Avalon a lot in this video, correct me if I'm wrong but you were treating this like the Toyota equivalent to the ES, but that's the Avalon.
Don't want a moon roof ! Will the build it for me without the moon roof??
Less is always more. Great car.
LEDs are on;y standard on 2016 and 2017 XSE and XLE V6 cars. 2015 was an option
big like to this car
Some advice for the poster: Do a review of the car WHILE you're driving it first and comment on the feel and drive of the car. Then go into the details of the interior, technologies, etc. Otherwise, you lose the viewers' attention.
Or at least yours..
random question--- bought a corolla about 7 months ago. I'm rather dissapointed with it. What should i do?
+tk4227 I DID ALSO AND RETURNED IT AND GOT A XSE V6 CAMRY!
I already have 10k miles on it....Ill have to trade it in in a couple of years
So why are brands slowly dropping sixies?
I like this guy.
the wheel is from Sienna
Spindle grill is my weakness
The washer fluid cap is open
I hope by now someone closed it 😀
Is the steering wheel off balance?
Still waiting for an F150 review.
So it's like a Toyota Maxima?
which camry models generally have thicker steering wheels?
I like the styling
People always forget to talk about the center armrest
Does this new Camry generation have the moldy A/C smell ?? Fixing to sell my "12 Camry and buy the 2016
Carlos Alberto The all-new one will be unveiled this month. Why don't you wait a bit to see if you like that one better?
I'd definitely wait it out for the new 2017
Carlos Alberto and
Review the Avalon XLE please.
Is a 2016 Toyota Camry xle with 60,000 miles for $18,000 worth buying?
I hope u bought it lol
The narrator got that shirt from Express. Lol. I shop there sometimes.
Did he say "ubiqueeus"? Lol. It's ubiquitous. You should've done a retake. The V-6 really isn't ubiquitous; that adjective would apply to the four-cylinder engine.
Put michelin sport tires, and sport air suspension, on a camry and you goig to have a very good car.
anyone else notice at 14:05 the windshield fluid cap is opened?
please review the 2016 Accord Sedan Touring! I'm looking for a reliable sleeper
why haven't u reviewed the 2016/2017 toyota avalon?
this car is a sleeper, when equipped with the v6 only
Why does everyone use these for taxis?
Cause it's a basic A to B appliance, try driving one. It's all it is and that's ok for many people
Randy Jackson Wasn't at all being smart fuckboi just staying facts. Taxi companies use these Camrys as Taxis more than normal people do. That's how it is here in NY.
Because their livelihood depend on it, that should tell you how good of a car it is. My Uber driver the other day had a 2015ish Accord Sport, talk about an uncomfortable ride! I swear I felt every gravel as we inched our way forward in the LES.
