I knew an ordinary heartbroken man who went silent after his wife left him. After 6 months he started to appear peaceful, and graceful. After a year he felt sorry for those who cared about him and started to join the world again. He said to me, “ as soon as I started talking again, I felt my peace slowly slipping away. Until you can improve on silence....” he didn’t finish the sentence but I understood that there was a communion quality to it. Words can convolute things, and send a person and his ego to a place of falsehood.

This is just what I needed to hear. I have been keeping to myself for a couple of years now. I found that I did explain myself or needed to fill
silent moments with chatter because someone told me once that when you are not pretty you need to have a personality. As I am a plain Jane I took that advice on board even though I am a bit introverted. Well, I am not sure if I am but I don't mind my own company.
So over the years of my life talking has been both a good and bad experience for me. Many times I have had my feelings hurt by unthinking
yabbers who feel it is their duty to enlighten me about stuff.
So two year ago after an annoying social experience, I decided to just be on my own. The past year has been quite a bonus for me with the curtailing of many social activities due to covid.
I have had more peace than ever before. The more I learn about people the more I love my dog.
