A curved "shovel" made out of perforated sheet metal that you can put in the channel and water would flow thru but not debris.

I know you've thought about it and you might not use it much. But why not get a garden hand spade and bend the blade so you can scoop out the stones and dirt you flush out of the drains. It might be earyer then trying / doing it with your hand.
I'm thinking a metal detectorists beach sand scoop would make for an excellent debris catchment tool
Is the extensive clean up and disinfecting something that all drainage engineers do in your area? Is it a procedure you all came up with, or is it mandated by Code Enforcement of some sort? I ask because in my part of the US, we don't have man holes on the property. We have a clean out off of the PVC line, but the sewer line usually runs directly underground to the sewer utility line that the city takes care of, so I did know if this was done by all companies in your area. What you do is great and makes sense. I could see some companies just leaving it for the home owner. Especially in my part of the US.

Andi have a Block Drain. Camera Picture, Wet's Brick piece, Gravel.... Work with Presswater. All come out Drain unblock. Then Drive to the next Work, Dave come too Manhol block, Soup with Sausage. Presswater all run down. Camera Picture? Drain not empty!
