Great demo guys! And great tones too! I play these pedals for about 3 years (apart the Kaluna that I don’t have yet - I’m using a Coppersound Foxcatcher). I really enjoy Vahlbruch pedals since they are very inspiring and noiseless. The silent pad is great as well. My Swiss army knife is the 6 Phi 4 which, in my opinion, is much much more than a phaser. Depending on the settings I use it as a phaser, a vibe, a leslie, an envelope filter (kinda autowah). And in conbination with the delay, there is no limit to creativity. I’m just missing a modulation feature on the delay pedal. Thanks for reviewing them, they deserve it.
Schottky diodes switches very quick. Of course the material they made of are silicium semiconductor. They have a special Doping in the n area and a metall Doping in the other area. Even they have a lower breakdown voltage ( 0.4 Volt) than a normal silicium Diode (0,7 Volt).
I’ve owned the standard and high gain versions of the Kaluna. Fantastic pedals, and this new version with the voicing options is super cool. I had two issues with the Kaluna: 1. It loses a lot of high end and punch when you roll back the guitar volume. Very dull and lifeless in my experience. 2. It does not take a boost/OD well. Easily overloaded. You’re stuck with the max gain on the pedal itself. I don’t mean to crap on the Kaluna, it’s a fine pedal, but it has limitations that caused me to move it along.
Shut up and take my money 😂 honestly, I had a version I Kaluna and sent it back because it wasn‘t juicy enough. Now the version II seems way more in line with what I am looking for.
They sound awesome! Kaluna is my favorite of the lot. But man engineers need to accept one thing. We need designers to make things look cool. Choosing a fancy font and sparkly lacker isn't it. Do pedals have to look cool? Yes, I think so. It inspires me to play. If it didn't matter, we'd all have JHS 3 series pedals and nothing else.
Totally agree with that statement ! When you have JAM, and beetronics you just WANT to play them and pick them years after you bought them. You can have the same argument about guitar color and finish. If it doesnt look cool, then you might look at it as a tool instead of an instrument. But also, the JHS and BOSS pedals are unkillable.... so nothing wrong with a good tool :)
This is a difficult thing for any and every maker. Some like JHS 3 style, some prefer EHX etc. There will never be one certain style everyone appreciates. Some like them fancy, some don't. I know players who wish every pedal was black with white text. Some prefer space shuttle consoles with blinking lights, leds and LCD-screens. No matter what style the builder picks... some are loving it, some are not.
In my oppinion Vahlbruch Pedals are the best. Expensive but every Cent worth. I own a Saphire drive Pedal. It's already an older one but it's still supperp. 😊
I had to stop watching your clip after 10 minutes: one chef turns the (spice) controls, the other chef can only re-act how he should play so that it fits best! This is how you spoil the broth. If I were Mr. Vahlbruch, I wouldn't be amused! Sorry folks!
You can never be too late to this party. At least that's what I say to myself every day. 😆 We just discovered how awesome these pedals are, there might be others like us. Cheers //Kris
Been waiting for this for a long time. You guys didn't disappoint.
