Random question, I’m in the middle of a similar conversion on a 128i, upon receiving the car back from paint/install of the bumpers my auto up down for opening and closing the door was no longer functional. I’ve looked up resets online but none have worked 🙃 any idea as to how I could go about fixing this ?

Even with the right care, n54 are just too unreliable. The n55 are actually very reliable engines. No b58, but pretty bulletproof.
You can cut the diffuser plastic off and the diffuser barely fit perfect on the 1m rear
