Cool video - I actually just did this same thing 2 weeks ago. After using Q-Tips and cotton pads, I tried using a dish sponge - it worked amazingly. I dipped the sponge in the acetone and it came off 10x faster - only took a few mins to clean the entire cage, with no visible white spots. For the toe, if you push back the plastic toe-piece, it will expose a tiny bit more of the paint/glue, then you can take a Q-Tip or sponge and it will come off instantly, with no visible white left. There was some acetone that got on the gray fabric, but when it dried it was 100% gone, not one spot visible. I wanted to make sure that there were zero white marks - even looking closely now, you can't see any. I can send you pics if you want...
Dude, I was lazy and listened to your anecdote that nothing happened to the gray fabric thinking you'd be right. You kinda were in the sense that there's no color changes, but what the acetone ended up doing was it removed the water repellent coating wherever it touched... Lesson learned: don't cut corners on tutorials.
eiendeeai I didn’t say that you could be lazy and splash a ton of acetone all over the gray. If you’re removing the toe paint and some gets on the gray - it should be fine.
acetone wasn't splashed all over the gray. the gray fabric surrounding the anterior plastic was just slightly soaked, so there's like a 1-2 cm margin around certain areas of the border of the plastic that now gets wet and lets water through. not blaming you, just putting a warning out there for anyone that wants their shoe to keep its water repellency.
ID on those pants at the end? Also great video! I knew I wasn't crazy seeing similar customs on Instagram. Always trying out stuff like this to make certain pieces "mine" -really respect the bold move to just take the leap
I would definitely like to get a pair, however I probably wont. Not because I don't like them but because I already have a lot of shoes. the pinks look even better in person.
I love the look of the acronym prestos but what really bothered me is how un-acronym they are in that...they're not that practical? The material they've used for the shoe is not durable at all like you've touched upon, with the cage even wearing it down. The presto utilities actually do a better job at embrasing the whole acronym ethos but stylistically those don't look that good. Great custom job tho, these are fresh and I'm glad you enjoy em.
Thank you, man! I do see why a different material on the upper would fit the ethos of acronym much more. My buddy has the presto utility mids and they are sick. on the plus side of having the material used is at least its somewhat breathable.

Oof i wish i knew of the kitchen sponge trick! Ill have to try and get that print off the toe box using that technique
You don't have to be matchy matchy and wear yellow with them, that actually looks like you're trying too hard. It can just be one pop of color
I agree, most the time I just wear them with all black or other neutral colors (sometimes olive).
They turned out really nice. Great video!
Thanks, mom! lol
Yoo its dope to see your channel growing. I remember when you were all happy about something like 30 subscribers.
Keep it up.
you can also use sticky back felt pads on the inside of the cages so they never touch the upper. you can get a multi pack on Amazon cheap
I thought of getting those. It'd be smart just to have it in case sanding them didn't help enough.
If you get thick ones + wear the laces loose there is about 3mm gap but I might also sand then just to be sure
thx for your inspiration, I made my own custom by following your steps.
The print is sick leave it alone and put those laces on the yellow ones those are so sick!!!
sick diy, subbed.
Love your customs! Techwear ftw!
Now I need a pair of these Prestos
they heat.

So you took the pattern off the cage and put it on your laces! I would do it to mine but that little bit left on the toe and cage would drive me nuts

overly consciously color coordinating is something you might see in Vogue magazine.
