my favorite part of the MK Labo is the total lack of interfacing with the game's menu, any time you wanna do something in a menu you have to fish the Joy-Con out, press the buttons, and hastily jam it back in before the race starts
there is an actual 1st party steering wheel with pedals and its like the wii wheeel but with s stand like the labo but with more quality. my aunt got it for me and not many people know about it
If I had a nickel for every time Nintendo made a VR-based product that ultimately failed, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
I found a steering wheel exactly like this today in Walmart. But it was plastic and official. It’s called the Mario Kart Racing Wheel Pro Mini. It’s NOT the crappy version that Nintendo makes. It looks EXACTLY like the labo one (wish I could send you the photo I took).
I found that too! It's interesting because I've literally never heard of it before I saw it, and it was just... there, in the controller section, with a bunch of joycons and pro controllers, mario kart-branded and all.
Apparently the official Mario Kart 8 Deluxe wheel peripherals have better shoulder buttons than the Joy-Con wrist straps that come bundled with your console.
Rays you should do a challenge where you need to win a race using Labo while playing as Petey Piranha cuz his head is so big and thanks to the zoom in the labo does the entire screen might get blocced
I actually have the wheel myself and it's actually a fun way to play MK8. The wheel itself has some weird cardboard on cardboard friction, but the pedal feels really nice.
at 7:59 rays has something plugged into his pro controller, is that connecting the controller to the switch over usb without a wire? if thats true that would be super useful for me but no matter what i search i cant find that
Hori made a $199.99 Nintendo switch controller that was a steering wheel, and it has pedals for the A and B buttons, it also has a D-pad of the “Switch” kind, and it has paddles on the back for L and R
I know a content creator who got a racing weel and made it work as a mario kart 8 dx weel OMG 4 Minutes into the video I realised that you're not redfalcon
Hori did actually release a few wheels that were officially licensed by Nintendo a few years ago, so you really didn't need to go through all this work, but the Labo is made by Nintendo themselves
Fun as that side quest looked, you could have saved time checking the big box stores inverntory in the apps... not always up to date, but for something like labo (assuming it's not an everyday buy) you can probably assume its there if it says "in stock"
@@thesavageone8685 My guess is that it was gimmicky and difficult to store. It seems they reworked it into Game Builder Garage but unfortunately Gerry, Lerna, and Plaise got replaced by a couple of talking specks.
@raysfire: The reason why the Nintendo labo think fail was because you pay 50$ for a big peace of cardboard, to put your nintendo switch in it, to have the fealling of being in an arcade, and also with a high risk of damaging your nintendo swtich controler, by stepping on the cardboard that one of your controler is in for the gas, so instead just used the controler itself like a wheel the wheel is not needed to make the controler behave like a wheel it was also truth back in the Wii. With the Wii wheel my isssue was you turn to mush, and it start turning the opposite dirrection because they is not lock on how mush you can turn, while by just using the controler side way on the Wii since you have the feel of the controler itself you know where to stop turning more in one dirrection. that was the issue for me.
ray had no experience of playing MK8DX with labo but then js destroyed every1 that is how yk he has put all his time everyday into making a piece of cardboard a masterpiece
Exactly. I have no idea why this dude wanted the cardboard wheel and didn’t even ask any of the places he went to if they had the actual Mario Kart wheel?😂
Kirbythings is referring to different one that wasn’t mentioned in the video. I have it and it’s actually amazing! It’s called the Hori Mario Kart Racing Wheel. There’s 2 versions, a Pro Deluxe and a Pro Mini. I recommend it :)
@@funkopotamuswes I also have it, but again, the premise was a wheel made by nintendo, which the hori wheel is not. Less than a minute in, he mentions third-party wheels are available, including hori, and says that's not what he wants. That's why it's not in the video
@@Chocomint_Queen I see, I thought you meant specifically the wheels where you put the joy con into it cause those are the only types he mentioned in the video

Loving the video, But there is a Hori steering wheel. That will save your amazing time just to buy it and use it. And I'm surprised you can change the language knowing nintendo they will not allow that
My family had 4 of these. 2 of them were my brothers and he never let me use them. And my other family almost never used them and i never felt like asking them (i was just lazy cuz i shared a room with my brother)
I was not expecting that much suggestive in a first-party Nintendo thing. Oh wait, they do that all the time. And re the final question: Any way to play the game that exists *UNCONDITIONALLY MUST* automatically be valid. *No exceptions.*
The labo kit? Really? I knew of that one for a long ass time, that's not shocking. The pro deluxe wheel on the other hand is fuckin weird and I'm shocked it's not talked about more, especially given it's on their website.
Hey rays just to let you know there is a actual mario wheel from Nintendo that is in Walmart I saw it 2 days ago im my Walmart it comes with a wheel and pedals too
Something about Raysfire repeatedly pretending he isn't entirely sure what Labo is called is painfully relatable lol
One hundred percent agree 😅
the labo irl side quest journey was an emotional rollercoaster that i was not prepared for
bro was getting all the achievements
Same, 500 dollars lost 😭
It would have been alot easier for him if he just checked Amazon

Finally, the CREASING stream makes it to UA-cam!

what if I 3D printed rays a better wii wheel and sent it to his PO box?
Do it 😊
