The price went to $249 for drone and batteries, insurance was $4.98, shipping and handling was $14.03 and the discount was $14 for a total of $254.01
If the price increases with coupon it means the drone is already on sale. What the discount code does is for countries where it is not on sale, it takes the non-sale price and applies a discount. So if already on sale, what you get is the full price with discount applied which may be more than the sale price.

I ordered the Flyhal FX1, which is really the Bugs 16 Pro, due to your enthusiastic endorsement of the Bugs. It has arrived, but my wife wrapped it up for Christmas. She did let me look at it to register it with Transport Canada. Ready to go Boxing Day...... Fly baby fly. Might also have to bring out my favourite drone, the Typhoon H to fly as well. Hey Captain, try some nitrile gloves. Brian Phillips on UA-cam uses them in the winter. He says they keep your hands warm, but allows you to still feel the controller sticks and buttons unlike with thick gloves.
These beginner drones are just getting better and better for the money I think this is well worth it and yes it could do with a few more features but I'm guessing fir a beginner drone it's got the basics thanks again for another fantastic video and stay safe out there and get a hot coffee as it looks sooooo cold there best wishes to you and your family from joff in the UK 🇬🇧
This reminds me of HS720E.. it is like a HS720E with 2 axis gimble! The app, specs, features etc. is so similar.. everything except that additional gimble.. lol!

Hi Cap, i am new to Drone flying and went through a few of your Videos which are fantastic and very informative, bigest problem i have is is the Apps that come with these, as i am new i did not want to get expensive one that may end up crashed, so bought one of the recomended beginer ones, anyway is there a generic app for the drones? as i see your apps seem to work fine, where as mine fails on certain things ie wo'nt do video, wo'nt auto land, etc luckly the button on remote does work, so is there any phone apps you would recomend ?
The majority of camera drones only work with the App that is made for them. If you are having issues, it may just be that you are new to all of this vice problems with your hardware. Most newbies complain of having no video feed and it is always due to the common mistakes, such as they did not turn on the controller first, then turn on the drone, then move the left joystick on the controller up and down once, then take out their phone and search for the wifi signal coming from the drone, then connecting their phone to that wifi signal, and then once it is connected, going to the App and opening it (NEVER OPEN AN APP PRIOR TO CONNECTING TO THE WIFI SIGNAL OR NOTHING WILL WORK). Enjoy.
Judging the 4k video pretty good 👍 for a 2-axis gimbal 6-axis stabilizer , I would recommend for beginners. I'll wait for the Autel Mini Nanu+ ... Merry Christmas ⛄ Capt.

I can only go by my experience with MJX. I bought one over a year ago, as my first drone. I don't remember the specific model, but it was very similar to this one, but didn't have image stabilization and I think it had a fixed gimbal. This of course made the video terrible...All jello and jitter lol. I could have lived with that, but during first flight, it fell out of the sky for no reason after about 9 minutes. Luckily, it was only about 20 feet up and survived. I changed out the battery, tried again, and the same thing happened. I ended up sending it back, and paid a few hundred more and got a Mini 2. Never tried another budget drone again since. Maybe I just got a defective unit, but if I were to get another cheaper drone, it wouldn't be from MJX. It's possible that I just got a defective unit, but I remember finding a few videos at the time of other people having similar problems
Terry Lockwood: I have a few dones and 4 of them are MJX and have a couple of Mavic's. Never had issues with any of my MJX drones, the oldest one is 4 years old. Still fly them to this day.

Actually, even if it hadn't crashed twice for no reason, I still would have never considered another one after flying a DJI. I realize they're in two different classes, but in my book you're much better off saving your money until you can get a higher end drone. I have 4 DJI drones now and a lot more experience, and I just can't recommend most of the budget drones.

Some spend hundreds and hundreds, a few a thousand and more. They lie in the cupboard and are never used. I am sure you have 4 DJI drones.
And I know people that have bought these "entry level" drones, and had multiple problems with them , and have been super disappointed in the quality of video that they take. At least 2 of them said they weren't interested in continuing the hobby. Until I let them take my Mini 2 or MA2 for a spin. They were amazed at the difference. But hey, to each their own. All I'm saying is, if you can be patient and wait until you can save enough, the higher end drones such as DJI are your best bet. Even if you don't like them, the resale value is much better than the cheaper ones. As far as me having 4 DJI drones go, yeah...I do. #5 is on the way lol

People buy a mini usually for the fact of it being under 250 grams and super portable. If that does not apply to you, then you should not be considering one.
Wow that is brave to be out in the cold trying to film that and we only see a few minutes of the footage -not all the setup/teardown and frozen fingers that go with that! Great photos/video from that drone! Keeps amazing me how just a year and a half ago there wasn't much of anything under $300 that could capture decent footage. This one does that and then some!

I got my eachine e520s out a couple days ago to test lifting my go pro since I thought it flies ok but the camera is terrible and the hero 8 stays stable on my mountain bike. Couldn't lift it... @@Falasi4 Yes, FPV drones are the most powerful drones out there and that is why the flight time is so very short because they pull as much power as they can from the battery to achieve the amazing lift and speeds.

Well I mean I could, but I would be sleeping with it in my car after my wife tossed me out. 😂😂 I am also really interested in the Autel Light series. Both the FIMI and Autel Nano / Light series look like they are trying to compete directly against the DJI market space. If I went DJI, I would probably save up for an S2. If you are shooting log and doing post processing, than it gets real close in a lot of ways to the Mavic 3. Low ight obviously is where the 3 really shines. I think the $1,000 to $1,500 range seems to be a sweet spot for a lot of folks who want something that they won't out grow, but be able to pull great video etc.

I love your reviews. Your a bit critical calling it budget drone. To me a budget drone is 99 and under. 95 percent of people would likely not fork out the money for a DJI or better. So I would call this a mid range drone. Had great video and stable image

So AUD$311.01. Even tho the DJI Mini 2 is AUD$710 IMHO I still believe that the mini 2 has better options and that you get more bang for your $$. The other thing that puts me off this drone is it exceeds the 250g Wright limit, which means it needs to be registered in Aust, and as of 2022 registration is going to cost AUD$40 per drone/per year
can this drone be used without the controller? A comment you said made it seem as though you can fly with just your phone. I'm new to the drone community, so this may sound like a silly question.
Hmmm... I honest can't recall if it can. Some entry level budget type drones do allow you to fly without use the controller. They have simulated joysticks built into the app. If you download the app shown, you may be able to check that out without even owning the drone.
Hello Captain. Great review. I need to ask, what is the difference between a controller using AA batteries with regards to effectiveness and/or efficiency, and the rechargeable ones? Because I noticed that a lot of the MJX drone controllers use AA batteries which is sort of a turn off for me personally. Is there any variance in performance?
No difference. Battery version just means you either put rechargeable batteries in it (to save costs) as well as you never have to worry about no power in your controller since you just replace the batteries if that is the case.
Note: before compas callibration, the Gyro sensor is checked by the drone. Therefor the drone has to stand on the ground first. In the video this is done without this notice. Background: I tried this drone on a boat, there the ground is not stable enough. the boats moves a bit to much. Result, the drone can not verify the gyro sensor and does not go to the compas callibrtion state. LED error is reported in the manual. Further on. it is a very nice drone.
There’s a sweet spot in my heart for MJX drones, this one looks legit. I like the wide angle of the camera and smooth stabilization.

Keep in mind for that price you get 3 batteries. Drop it down to one battery and the price drops.
My MJX units fly in tons of geofence areas that my friends DJI products won't. All in what ya want.

I am also really interested in the Autel Light series. Both the FIMI and Autel Nano / Light series look like they are trying to compete directly against the DJI market space. If I went DJI, I would probably save up for an S2. If you are shooting log and doing post processing, than it gets real close in a lot of ways to the Mavic 3. Low ight obviously is where the 3 really shines. I think the $1,000 to $1,500 range seems to be a sweet spot for a lot of folks who want something that they won't out grow, but be able to pull great video etc.

Yes. The higher you get the less flight time you get.
Great video also this look of controller and drone and sounds it makes when you power it on even app is similar to X hubsan I think it is a copy paste of a hubsan or EXO😂
I would recommend any MJX Bugs drone to a beginner. They just simply work very good.

I love your reviews. Your a bit critical calling it budget drone. To me a budget drone is 99 and under. 95 percent of people would likely not fork out the money for a DJI or better. So I would call this a mid range drone. Had great video and stable image

i have mjx bugs b 4 w 2k.. very badly crash so many tyms.. still work very gud.. built quality of mjx is very very gud.. video qualty is average ..but hardware is very gud

So AUD$311.01. Even tho the DJI Mini 2 is AUD$710 IMHO I still believe that the mini 2 has better options and that you get more bang for your $$.
The other thing that puts me off this drone is it exceeds the 250g Wright limit, which means it needs to be registered in Aust, and as of 2022 registration is going to cost AUD$40 per drone/per year
Also I think that price for the Bugs is with 3 batteries.
Looks like a good options for someone getting into the hobby or for someone who doesn't want to drop 1k on a drone. Thank you for the video!

wow 260$ for 3 battery!!! great result, a drone with these features and quality two years ago would cost nearly 1000$ :) it would be great under 250gr

can this drone be used without the controller? A comment you said made it seem as though you can fly with just your phone. I'm new to the drone community, so this may sound like a silly question.
Hmmm... I honest can't recall if it can. Some entry level budget type drones do allow you to fly without use the controller. They have simulated joysticks built into the app. If you download the app shown, you may be able to check that out without even owning the drone.

I need to ask, what is the difference between a controller using AA batteries with regards to effectiveness and/or efficiency, and the rechargeable ones? Because I noticed that a lot of the MJX drone controllers use AA batteries which is sort of a turn off for me personally.
Is there any variance in performance?
No difference. Battery version just means you either put rechargeable batteries in it (to save costs) as well as you never have to worry about no power in your controller since you just replace the batteries if that is the case.

What did you have in mind?
Note: before compas callibration, the Gyro sensor is checked by the drone. Therefor the drone has to stand on the ground first. In the video this is done without this notice. Background: I tried this drone on a boat, there the ground is not stable enough. the boats moves a bit to much. Result, the drone can not verify the gyro sensor and does not go to the compas callibrtion state. LED error is reported in the manual. Further on. it is a very nice drone.
so far no work around to skip the gyro check....
