I’ve only been a member of the RLC since 2021, but I’ve collected Hot Wheels all my life. I enjoy the club. Like you, I’ve never had an issue getting any casting that I wanted. I mainly collect classic cars and American muscle cars. I’m getting ready to renew for year 3! 👍🏻
Heck yeah man that’s awesome to hear that you’ve had really good luck with your RLC pieces that you’ve wanted! But hey everybody goes after what they like and that’s sweet to hear! Thanks for watching buddy! 😎👍🏻💪🏻
Great Video! I have been a RLC member for 3 years now and I get all the casting I want and some I don’t like as well but like you said it’s for the investment incase I need to sell. I hunt hot wheels Al over my area and since Covid happened more people started collecting or scraping and it’s hard as hell to find anything in the wild. RLC makes me feel like I won the battle and got a really nice piece for my collection and didn’t miss the drop. This is a very humbling hobby and thought about giving it up because of how hard it is to find stuff. But then I say hell yeah when I win sometimes and keep going lol.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for sharing your thoughts on it! But yeah my area is tough a lot of the times as well so RLC is another alternative to beating out the local people especially when you miss a drop. This community is definitely a great place overall and lots of kind people as well. Stay tuned for Part 2 this coming Saturday! 😎👍🏻👊🏻
The membership price covers the cost of the patch that comes with the car. That’s mostly the same previous cars made n various colors and designs. And placed in a plastic protective case.
Great video. I'm an RLC member also and love it. You can get some amazing pieces. I'm a newer collector so yeah I might be biased about that decision, but I haven't had a reason not to like it. Can't wait for part two to get the whole story. Thanks for sharing Jake. 👍
Hey man best of luck to you with all of the pieces you go after and hey everyone has they’re own opinions on it! And I appreciate you watching Paul! 😎👍🏻👊🏻
Mattel and the scalpers have a great love and marriage relationship. A true collector is one who loves collecting over the profit of a greedy business.
I like the RLC castings, not all, but most. Some are really hard to get, others not so bad. As far as how many they actually put out, I really don't care if it's 10 million, as long as I get the 1 I want, thats all that matters to me. 😁✌👍
Yeah most of them look pretty good and yeah that’s really all that matters to me is that I get the one I’m after as well. Thanks for watching brotha! 😎👍🏻👊🏻
Great video Jake and an important discussion to have. Is the RLC club worth it? Well, it depends on how important getting an RLC is to you, and if you can even get certain ones. As we all know, certain castings on the RLC can demand much more attention, resulting in a frenzy at 9:00 am on a Tuesday morning. I guess my answers is yes, but I do think that Mattel needs to address it's site for purchasing with improved bot filters and a more streamlined process. The RLC castings themselves are often really nice, and with a lot of detail and quality. People seem willing to pay hundreds of dollars for a Super Treasure Hunt on the secondary market, and they really are not all that spectacular in comparison with a $30 price tag on the RLC's. If you are a diehard HW person, I think it will be a big yes. For those who are not, maybe the $30 prey tag for one casting scares some people away along with having to pay $10 just to purchase. I get the membership letter, patch and exclusivity, but Mattel needs to address their own issues if they are charging for a membership. Either way, thanks for going over this brother!
Very well put my friend and I really appreciate your input on this!! And yes I couldn’t agree more that mattel needs to step they’re game up and fix a lot of the problems we as members face everytime. I do plan on releasing a con’s side of this next weekend so stay on the lookout for that as well! Thanks for watching Shane I definitely appreciate it bro! 😎💪🏻
Hey Jake like your viideo topic. I have been an RLC member since 2021 but was just an a casual collector until the pandemic hit. I’m glad you like it and that’s awesome you’ve lucked out on getting the ones you’ve wanted but sucks that they’re starting to change the laws there as well. Enjoyed reading your feedback and thank you for watching! 😃👍🏻
Great video. RLC does sell some nice pieces. I like it when they include the display cases... It makes it worth the price. I am renewing into my 3rd year. It's easier to renew now because in the past, there were only a certain amount of spots for members on a yearly basis. Now, HW's let anyone at any time join in the RLC.
Yes they definitely do and yeah the fact they come in acrylic display cases and protector packs is definitely a plus! And oh wow I never knew that but I guess that kinda makes sense and that’s why they numbered them too. Thanks for watching Fern! 😎👊🏻
Hey Jake great video !! Awesome RLC you have I'm a RLC member but let some of these cars go I usually buy what I like at the time. going for the monty carlo. lowrider .. also my apologies for forgetting to mention you and your channel sticker in my video . I'll get it in the next one promise!! 😊
Thanks for watching dude and yeah I’ve passed on a few of them myself and definitely going for the Monte Carlo as well that thing is sick! And it’s all good dude no worries but I appreciate you taking the time to watch! 😎👍🏻
RLC member since late 2021 I believe. All and all its been fun being a member but we have not had luck getting all of the items we have wanted. 2 years in a row we couldn't get the STH box....only limited to 1000 though. Although not an Rlc the Elite 64 are limited and both have sold out in a day or less. I'll continue to keep up our membership as long as we are collecting. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and have a great week Jake! 😃👍👍🤙
I’m glad you guys are having fun and sorry to hear about you guys not getting some of the stuff your after! I know those STH boxes sell out quick! But yeah I’ve heard Elite64 do go relatively fast too. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and have a great rest of your week as well! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
The redline club was great years ago before all the scalpers got into a frenzy, now if you’re 1 minute late to buy, the car is gone. Really disappointing for people like me who only need 1 and just collect the castings I like.
I wish I could’ve been apart of it years ago myself man it would’ve been so nice and I agree Jason I only usually get one for my personal collection unless I’m trying to help someone out. Thank you for the comment!
I am not a member of RLC and always wanted someone to do this. I hear alot of complaints but they still post pictures of getting cars, so I'm confused. I've been thinking of joining just waiting to see if it's a good thing or not. And on your point of not opening STH or RTH and RLC I don't either. I watch a couple diecast auctions and carded stuff is better. I'm not a reseller but in the future when I decide to part with my collection I want a fair price. Right now I have around 9000 to 10000 pieces. Have a great week ahead Jake
Well I mean you do have people who really like the RLC cars but just don’t want to go through the hassle of dealing with getting them so I can see that. But yes I agree carded stuff will always be of more value of course and will help sell down the road. I couldn’t even imagine that man you must have quite the collection of stuff! Thanks for watching and have a great rest of your weekend Charles! 😃
As a RLC member the release of a car is attacked by scalpers. Those of us who want one car has a difficult time if not getting a car within minutes from release. Then left to the eBay over priced scalpers. Mattel needs to hold at least one car per members to allow to buy for at least 2 days.
I couldn’t agree more that they should hold X amount of cars for x amount of members and yes give a certain amount of time to purchase your car or else it gets put out there for someone else.

Never really had any complaints about my background music and I don’t use a microphone either. What more research do I need to do on RLCs exactly? Thank you for watching. 👍🏻
If I could I would buy every RLC just as an investment for my kid. He could keep or sell when I'm gone. But right now I only try if I really like the car
Great video Jake. I have thought about joining. But they always drop the cars while I am at work so I have to miss out as I am not supposed to be on it at work unless on breaks.
Thank you for watching Pete and that’s understandable man they always drop when I’m at work too but it’s right after I get off my lunch break so it kinda works out lol
I agree that any corresponding number to the cars number would definitely be really cool and I know someone personally that got 00034 on a Nissan skyline r34 and has gotten crazy offers for it. Thanks for watching! 😎👍🏻
I love the redline club, and i order them all. But the really like the Elite 64 and the Matchbox from Mattel creations they all go hard im adult who can more than afford any diecast or real car, for that matter... But the kid collectors out there. Its never been harder for them to obtain that casting they want so bad. Which brings me to the reason i buy them all. When it's a kid, i care abouts birthday. I hook em up with something from my toy room, and they love it. i love to lit that fire. Maybe i can trade some Mattel Creations for some yard work or for some help digging out after a snowstorm ...

Just joined today and got the VW. I bought a F&F Mustang before I joined just to see if I could (not being a member). Can anyone buy "Creations exclusives" or just members?
@@curtism7409 awesome to hear Curtis and the F&F Mustang isn’t a RLC car that’s just a premium car you can buy off of the mattel creations website. Just members can only buy RLC cars. Thanks for watching!
@@strictlydiecast785 Thanks for responding! Do they give a heads up when exclusive cars are coming out? Probably going to end up spending way too much money on these cars! Lol!
I actually missed out on that one because I never updated my credit card information. But I did hear about a lot of QC issues with that as well. Thank you for watching!
This is some great in sight mate, i have been a member for 6 months and love it, but living in Australia, i have to wait for some time, it sucks but it's worth it once you have the car in your hand.😉
Well I’m glad I could provide some insight for you man! And yeah that would suck because I hate waiting for stuff myself lol thanks for giving it a watch man! 😎💪🏻👊🏻
Some of it is worth it, not all of it…..the limited numbered editions are misleading because low numbers or high numbers really don’t matter because the low numbers is the sticker only not the product that is pulled and a sticker is placed on it 🤔 it should be labeled like 1 of 25,000 ie
I agree it’s all in what your looking to get from it or out of it. But yeah that’s true they probably do just make a batch of them and then put the sticker on after the fact. Thanks for commenting! 😄
Appreciate the comment but hey everyone has their own thoughts and opinions on it. I agree most of what they do or get away with is pretty whack but when you luck out and get something good it just puts a bandaid on the bigger issues.
@strictlydiecast785 did I upset you? Thought you didn't understand why logistics move in the manner they do. 🤷🏾♂️ The big guys ship to hubs, and lobby for the smaller companies/franchisees to finish the delivery.
@@thehotlineofdiecast.7623 not at all and honestly I’d have to go back and watch this video again to even know what I said that your replying too. I definitely understand how logistics work lol but they’re shipping “standards” have gotten so much worse even in the last year or so.
I’ve been collecting them since 2019, not too long I know…here in so cal kids that resell them online just killing the hobby. Also I’ve started noticing that, boxes being opened , on the pallet being brought from the back at my local Walmart. Seems like employees go through them in the back before they release it to be hung on the pegs…
Sorry my english no good I have a question, I pay for the rlc membership and when I want to buy me a rlc car like an example the mustang its 25 dlls but I can buy it because i need to get also the rlc membership but I already have it and then i neeed to pay like 10 more and the total its like 35😢 its supposed that if you get the rlc membership is for a year, not for everytime you want a piece i dont get it someone explain me pls
Hmmm I’m sorry Brian I’m not really sure what’s going on with that because like you said if you already have the membership then you shouldn’t need to buy it again when you go and purchase a car. I would say try contacting mattel and see what they have to say.
okay, so i just got into hot wheels this month, i love cars and wanted to have some of my favorites displayed around the house. but, honestly... its pretty annoying having to fight everyone for the cars i want. i just wanted a f&f s15, but the guy that was there before me asked if there were any boxes in the back and then proceeded to take every soarer and s15 out of the box. im not kidding... 6 soarers and 4 s15s. if you're gonna sell them, find a different hobby. i want to open, look at, play with, and just appreciate them. resellers are really leaving a sour taste in my mouth. sorry something snapped inside me when you said they were investments
Not being able to get one consistently. When you pay a membership that's just not cool. We've gone over all the reasons many times, but that's the one that gets me.
People that complain about reselling. Just don't understand how the world works. Mattel is a reseller guy, so they just need to just calm the f*** down and go on with their lives and stop having so much fomo.

Literally make shit uo to believe your own lies hahag what a joke....
I have been collecting Hot Wheels for 53 years. I still have my original sweet 16 from when I was a kid. RLC cars are the most beautiful Hot Wheels cars ever made. I wish Mattel would keep the production lower. I realize not everyone would get one but that's how it works if you want something to be special and rare.

RLC or STH? I stand in the middle and need some advice from a PRO, please.🙏 So the difference is detail and the assortment?
Mattel needs to use the post office. FedX and UPS delivery is slower than the Post office
I agree and they handle packages very poorly as well.
Lots of disappointed members got the poorly made Integra with cracked blisters and paint chips, etc. Poor qc.
Matchbox moving parts designs give hot wheels a price consideration for the value for a collector and not a scalper
I’m not much of a moving parts guy but they are definitely very reasonably priced.
It ships in that manner because it's logistically better for the company. They can't do Santa drops. In my opinion, redline is pretty lame.
I was wondering what the redline club was. Thank you for sharing.
Absolutely man appreciate you taking the time to watch!
I've only bought 3 so far. I missed one because I didn't know about the refresh trick
Yeah that would’ve definitely helped me out a time or two that’s for sure lol
@@strictlydiecast785 mattel dont respond me I left a message like a month and nothing but ok thank you for the response
I'm done with this f***ing hobby. Between RLC bots and scalpers at Target, Walmart, Etc, the fun is gone
Sorry to hear about that man.
okay, so i just got into hot wheels this month, i love cars and wanted to have some of my favorites displayed around the house. but, honestly... its pretty annoying having to fight everyone for the cars i want. i just wanted a f&f s15, but the guy that was there before me asked if there were any boxes in the back and then proceeded to take every soarer and s15 out of the box. im not kidding... 6 soarers and 4 s15s. if you're gonna sell them, find a different hobby. i want to open, look at, play with, and just appreciate them. resellers are really leaving a sour taste in my mouth. sorry something snapped inside me when you said they were investments
Beard game is on point !
Hahaha thanks bro!! 😎
I’m been wanting to join rlc and as a 12 year old it’s harder to get money lol but I did get the pink card bnr34 which I’m happy about
I would say go for it when you save up some money dude it’s definitely worth it! Thank you for checking out the video! 😎👍🏻
@@strictlydiecast785 Thank You!
@@strictlydiecast785of course man!!
Great topic and video !!
Thanks brotha I appreciate it! 😎🤙🏻
It most definitely is not worth it lol
Any particular reasons why? I’m all for hearing man and appreciate you watching!
Not being able to get one consistently. When you pay a membership that's just not cool. We've gone over all the reasons many times, but that's the one that gets me.
Thanks for sharing bro
Thanks for watching dude!
People that complain about reselling. Just don't understand how the world works. Mattel is a reseller guy, so they just need to just calm the f*** down and go on with their lives and stop having so much fomo.
@@djjorge87I don’t really understand what you mean by Mattel being a “reseller” whenever they’re the ones making the product? Lol but thank you for watching!
@strictlydiecast785 yes target is a reseller reselling is everything in america. Yall just don't realize it. It's also free advertisement.
@@djjorge87 well of course Target is a reseller but you said Mattel was a reseller and that doesn’t make any sense.
@strictlydiecast785 Matel IS a reseller. Are you dumb? THEY resell to DISTRIBUTERS WHO RESELL TO target. THAN TARGET RESELLER to us..... bro, this is not that complex.
They resell die-cast models that they make at less than ten cents. Two, maybe forty cents to target target, then sells it to us for a dollar fifteen.... The problem is, you guys are so f****** caught up on this morality. B*******, just stop with the f****** b*******. Stop track like the taking away from kids to take another way. They're taking away from other grown men... Drop the b******* again if you're gonna complain about reselling. That's a load of c***. And to be honest, y'all doing it cuz y'all grift, in cause you know, you get a lot of views and you get people like me that comment, so y'all acting like how facetious and y'all don't know, cause you probably don't you think? You're actually saying something, my guy, but you guys don't actually think your thoughts through You think about the money.... And then it comes full circle, because you're mad at the other people that are also thinking about the money while u get to make money off of mattel as well... I swear, sometimes you guys are so unbelievably.Hypocritical you guys don't think.
@strictlydiecast785 are you dumb you deleted my comment cause you feel stupid. Let.me school you moralistic fucks. MATTEL RESELLS TO DISTRIBUTORS. DISTROS resell to target. TARGET RESELLS TO US...REALLY NOT THE COMPLEX yall just do these video cause it's griftig or you truly that ignorant. Seriously you are talking out your ass and making money from literally talking bs haha and you think your saying something. Sad people like you walk around thinking they make sense then you get a whole community to try and put down other creators it cleary a form a jealousy. And to say a BUSINESS only cares about money again is so stupid. No shot Sherlock if they didn't there would bo NO cars you people are so insufferable. Literally make shit uo to believe your own lies hahag what a joke....
Your video is great, great information. You insight is 👍
Thank you John I really appreciate that my friend 😃
I have been collecting Hot Wheels for 53 years. I still have my original sweet 16 from when I was a kid. RLC cars are the most beautiful Hot Wheels cars ever made. I wish Mattel would keep the production lower. I realize not everyone would get one but that's how it works if you want something to be special and rare.
Oh wow you must have quite the collection then and I would love to see those Sweet 16 cars!! But yes RLC’s are definitely a very nice quality piece to have and I do wish they were lower production as well. Thanks for watching the video!! 😁👍🏻
Now how about those NFT cars tho, talk about rare
Got that right 🤣
👀 👂
💪🏻💪🏻
Like baseball cards, new mass produced crap, ruined the hobby!
You got that right man!
your opening music is so loud... then when you talk you are sooooo quiet and mumble.... thumbs down and stopped watching
Yeah I ended up fixing the opening music later on and I feel like I speak adequately
but sorry you feel that way. Appreciate the feedback.
