I realize it isn't the most awesome feature, but that 'sweep' feature is actually a great idea, especially in a shop type environment. Little improvements in a product like that make this an incredible value

Just picked one up after watching this. The squared off design and floor sweep features made it worth it for me. Feels really well made too. Thanks for the review!
I have the Hercules dual power vacuum, I use it in my shed for saw dust and such but it's only 2 HP . but I got it free with purchase of 2 batterys last month and I always use with 5amp. Battery, soo convenient for quick clean ups.
I went to Home Depot couple of days ago.I saw that vacuum I then realized that the vacuum was new and looking for a review on UA-cam lol. Honestly so far the best vacuum for mobile detailing great for space super compact (I did unclip the plastic to hold the hose to make more compact since I use the detailing hose)
If you're working in any truck. The extended hose is a must. My Trail Boss only has a 2inch lift and I'm struggling. Just not long enough. Vacum is great though.
I have the older orange version you referred to, have had it for...10+ years, had to replace the hose, fix the handle (just normal wear and tear, I'm in construction)... But other than that fantastic vac. And yes the tool box style lends itself to easy storage, stand on, sit on practicality, highly recommend. Great vid👍

Great video! Subscribed! Question, on the new vac, does the longer “car detailing” hose clip neatly to the unit or does it’s extra length mean you have extra hose lying on the floor? Just trying to understand what stowing the vac would look like. Thanks!
Excellent review!!! I’m looking for a vacuum to keep in the garage for us to be able to quickly vacuum out our cars. 👍👍👍 Dragging out the house vacuum is a big no. Thanks again! 🎉
Hawaii detailing has this super sweet whole house vacuum and it's badass. It's not very big and mounts in the garage. And apparently you can pipe it into the entire house and use it to clean your car and house. It's the coolest vacuum I never knew I wanted.
Thanks for doing this comparison and test! I was wondering how the two compared. I'm going to get the smaller one since I just dumped my 16gal Ridgid to try to save space.
Great video. Just picked one up with the pack attachment for $80! Excellent deal. Just to note, the detailing kit hose is a smaller diameter 1 1/4" vs the 1 7/8" included hose, but they do include adapters with the detaining kit so you can use both hoses together if you choose. Happy sucking!
Hey thanks for the video, I recently started a mobile car wash/detail business and bought this vacuum so I'm glad to hear from a pro that I made a good choice. I also use it as a step stool along with my rigid pro gear 2.0 box. It also saves space, when using a hatchback space matters big time. I'm tempted to try the 18v battery powered version but since I don't have the batteries it would be an expensive investment for parking lot jobs. I 'd love to see a detailers review on that model.
Very well done and very comprehensive. Brought one home today and decided to check it out to see if it was as good as it look. Totally persuaded by your excellent video. Question: I have the longer detailing hose from a prior vac. Any great ideas for on- or around-unit storage for that hose?
Get the ridgid pro gear attachment plate, and put the hose in a ridgid pro gear box. I fit the ridgid orange hose in the small ridgid box. You may need to get the medium box. Also, the crate will not work with the vacuum pro gear plate
I just bought this vac, do you think me buying the extractor conversion kit would still be good for this vac? I bought it for the size and still strong. Just need opinions.
I have a different model and very happy with performance. I would caution against telling people they can use the vacuum as a step stool.I`m 6`1 and 210, and I wouldn't stand on that plastic box, especially with wet shoes.
Yea, like i said im sure Rigid wouldnt recommend it ha but i do it all the time with the other unit. I use it as a step mostly for polishing roofs, so the water is all gone and dry by then.
Is the car kit compatible with the orange Ridgid shown in this video? The longer orange hose is different size than the stock hose of the Ridgid, not sure if that matters? Thanks!
Would you be able to do a review and comparison to the Greenworks 40V (3 Gallon) Cordless Wet / Dry Shop Vacuum + Accessories, 2.0Ah Battery and Charger Included & the RIDGID 50318 4500RV ProPack Wet Dry Vac, 4.5-Gallon Portable Wet Dry Vacuum.
Anyone try this with a bucket top Home Depot dust stopper or dust deputy for power tool dust extraction? Planning out a sawdust cleanup setup. I like the small size of this since a large bucket size is irrelevant if I'm using the dust stopper. Few options for high horse power, but small capacity at the same time. I could fit this and a dust cyclone in the bottom of a shop cart easy.
@@commoncents456 I ended going with a 4gal/5.5 hp Shop vac brand from Lowe's. I wanted something at least 5hp, but also small since I'm using the dustopper/5gal bucket as my primary collection. I have it setup on the bottom of a 2'x4' mobile workbench on casters I built. Top is same height as table saw so doubles as a support/outfeed table. Quick question, since it's wet vacuum as well, can you use it as an extractor?
Yes you can make an extractor with this. You just need a flat suction head off Amazon or the mytee spray head works with a threaded 1.5” adapter
Do you know if the RipClean extractor kit will work on these two?
Also wondering how the blower works for drying car also?
Is the WD4070 better
