As a swede its hard and expensive to get scream factory movies. But i now got my hands on a place in Denmark that sells it. My fav release now is Poltergeist 2 and Killer Klowns when it comes to picture. Just ordered Escape from new york, Amityville Horror and Village of the damned. Greetings from sweden
Great list! You and I both love Carpenter and King. I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to rank all of Carpenter’s films against each other and all of King’s films against one another. .
I picked up Scream Factory’s 4K of Cat People recently…that looked amazing too! Reds popped right off the screen. Great list, your videos on more than one occasion have made me make purchases, this one might too…😅
Great video! Totally agree with Killer Klowns earning the top spot. Just watched Poltergeist II this week and loved it! Not only was I blown away by the restoration but it’s actually a really good 80s horror. I was 12 or 13 when it came out and at the time was into slasher films and action movies so never gave it the time it deserved back then. Might need to pick up the Village of the Damned as well
Village of the Damned was one I kind skipped over for the last 25+ years but wow, I think between the 4k looking so great and having a new perspective on it now that I am older and a father, it was way better than I remembered it being! Same with Poltergeist II, I appreciate it way more now than I did then!
I've been checking out movies you've reviewed and commented on in your videos. I'm an 80s kid and missed out on some of the "classics" everyone else likes. Recently watched The Fog, Night of the Comet, Near Dark, Life Force and Chopping Mall for the 1st time and loved them. Going to watch Village of the Damned for the 1st time next. So far great movies. Really liked Night of the Comet. Another one I watched recently for 1st time was Brain Scan. That is a pure 90s style great horror movie and if you haven't seen it, give it a try. Love the list and I have bought many of these, even though I don’t yet have a UHD tv. The one I want is on sale at Costco and I will be picking it up tomorrow. It’s an LG OLED. I have a question though. I cannot stand the automatic default of modern TVs to go to whatever version of “real vision” the brand has replicating everything to look like soap operas, 48fpm. If I turn this setting off, does that affect the quality of the UHD 4K experience?
no, it wont! in fact, if you turn off the motion smoothing and fake increased frame rate, it will make it true cinematic...remember, movies are shot at 24 frames per second, anything else is basically altering that frame rate artificially
I only have four 4k titles atm I'm just starting to get the 4k stuff. I have Lost Boys, Poltergeist 1, ET, Stand by me. I'm. Thinking next I have to get that village of the damned. Have you watched Maximum Overdrive on 4k yet? What about The Thing? Thanks for the suggestions.
Poltergeist 2 looks amazing. I love horror movies. I have cujo, killer klownz, lost boys, Friday the 13th remake, Friday the 13th part 1, orginal Poltergeist, the exorcist, the mist, monster squad, Stephen king cat's eye, pet cemetery, pet cemetery remake, demons 1&2, return of the living dead, jigsaw, they live, you're next, candy man, candy man remake, It, It chapter 2, insidious, night breed, cabin in the woods, evil dead remake, evil dead 2 remake, child's play 1,2,3, dark night of the scarecrow 1,2, smile, prophecy 1,2,3, motel hell, raw head rex, nope, the shinning, dr sleep, the blob(80s), krampus the naughty cut, pumpkin head, Child's play cult of chucky, The thing, leviathan, torso, village of the damned, sleepy hollow, stepfather, the woman, watchers, tales from the darkside, devil times 5. All these are just a few of my horror 4ks. I have a lot more to come this half of the year has been huge for movie releases with many more to come.
yeah my full poltergeist 2 review is coming Saturday but it is a great one! I love horror movies too - all movies really! that is a helluva collection you got going there!!
She’s wearing a flesh colored patch over here private area. I wish I didn’t know that but it is amazing clear at least compared to Tubi with rural internet 50 miles from civilization
Lol if you are talking about L Quigley, that is not what she said in person...they re-shot it with a make-up blended prosthetic but they also shot it without out...you can see in the 4k where which one is which lol - particularly from behind
Is 4K really worth the added cost? DVD and Blu-ray is fine for me. I have Killer Clowns on MGM Midnight series and it looks fine on my Epson 4010 digital projector.
Shout/Scream Factory is almost always great. I do not have Phantoms…forgot to add it but will get it. Also been dragging my feet in getting the Halloween boxset with the three last movies. Will get! I have all Carpenter movies that I know are released on 4K. But I have The Fog, Prince Of Darkness, escape From New York and They Live in the big 4-disc boxes from Studio Canal. Also have a release of The Thing in a similar box set. Also a steelbook. Lol. Love The Thing! The box is a UK release with the prequel on nluray. Soundtrack cd’s in all of them. 👍 Wonder if the Studio Canal restorations are the same ss the ones Shout are using? Killer Klowns is a pearl! Never get tired of it! Got the 4k steelbook comkng. LOL I dont film with an iPhone...I film with an actual 4k camera...I bumped my mic too far up with my elbow and it was causing it to hunt focus...stuff happens sometimes
I've never seen a 4k, I have no idea how to set up a system. Do you have a video (im too lazy to look lol) on how to, and what to buy for the best 4k experience? like, do you need a special tv? what sound system is best, what 4k player is the best. the more i watch your videos, the more you're convincing me to invest lol don't laugh, i'm gonna be 50 this week, i'm still in Atari mode 🤣🤣
so, Im not that far behind you lol....you have to have a 4k tv and a 4k blu ray player....you dont have to have a special sound system but it makes it sound better....I think it is 100% worth the investment... the LG OLED 4k tvs are the best...the Sony X800M2 is a great 4k player at a good price that will let you play any type of disc from anywhere in the world....once you see a 4k on a 4k tv like that, you'll see the movies in a whole new way!

Anyone have an issue with 'the thing' 4k? Mine froze up at about the 38 minute mark... Thankfully it comes with the Blu-ray copy
@@dnad8034I dont have it yet. Do you have problems with any other 4k discs? Might be a problem with the 4k player. I've heard some can be finicky.

Dawn of the dead remake is one of the best 4ks I’ve ever seen. If you haven’t checked that one out, get it.
