How could THJ be the 2nd scorer yet J.I averaged more points than him in a year he played for a coach that hated him for no reason? J.I also averaged close to 19 without Cade and led team to wins while being the hub of offense
Ivey will compete for MIP after getting traded. I'm not sure Cade wants to share on ball duties with Ivey.
I hope Ivey becomes that guy, but so far he has been a less efficient scorer than THJ. His ppg is driven by volume and not efficiency.

Stew shot the three better than THJ last year and is a vastly superior defender.
Analytics are very important but cherry picking one stat can be misleading.
@@pheralanpathfinder4897 This isn’t cherry picking a stat. I watch the games and the stats match the eye test. Today, Ivey is the less efficient scorer of the two. Not by a wide margin, but enough to make a difference. If Ivey manages to improve his efficiency, it’s a very different discussion. This is not a hot take.
I’ll admit I was pissed when they chose holland. Not because I didn’t like the kid, it was because we desperately need shooting. I was also upset they traded grimes for hardaway. I felt grimes didn’t really get a chance. But after I calmed down I’m gonna wait to see what else they do. Maybe he has a detailed plan. So I’m gonna sit back and watch before I make judgement
This was a great trade... Ku you always talk about stock piling picks. Grimes always injured and I don't see the shot. I'll take this one year and picks.
Funny, a year ago i said that they should only have two of the core four starting and two off the bench.
How’d that work for them when Ivey and Thompson were coming off the bench? They didn’t have the talent behind them to do it. Will it be different this year?
@@cordelldemattei5446 if you remember we had no veterans. They were all hurt or non existent! Team had no chance to win no matter how they threw them out there. My logic was being that they had not played much together that it would be easier to build chemistry between them in pairs with veterans around them instead of throwing a bunch of players out there that all had less than one year experience! That's a recipe for disaster!!!! Kids don't even know how to play NBA Ball yet.
@@Iamerica-ct2jueveryone but Ausar and Sasser (not starting) had at least one year in the NBA under their belt. They knew the speed and what is needed. At some point you have to play them together to build chemistry. Unfortunately, last year was Monty’d
I think its reasomable that hollands defence is bettef than shown with the ignite because he has an almost 30% useage as an 18yo in his first year in a mens professional league.
I expect his D will be a lot better in a simplified role with the pistons.
If Trajan uses desire to be in Detroit as a factor, for which young guys to trade, I think that puts Duren at the top of the trade list. Ivey makes the most sense if you keep Cade at pg though.

You said trade DUREN who is a great reb and he is young. Stew is undersized and DUREN is always vs two bigs rebounding. This is why we can't develop prospects. Half the time defensive breaks happen on ball before DUREN. It's a team game is what I'm saying. And we need to develop players.Bigs take 4 years to show sometimes. DUREN showed he can impact defense..It's about the connected defenders on the floor.

@@Heru313Duren is about 40th best defender compared to all other centers. And that's not including PFs who play some center.
I hope Duren becomes average at defense but his ceiling isn't much higher than average.

It seems like Trajan is a patient person. We HAVE to at least see with our own eyes that Ivey and Duren haven’t improved over the summer/beginning part of the season in their trouble areas. Let’s get some shooting this offseason and see if the young guys improved. If not, they might need to be moved or take a different role.

@@danielbutler7202 taking on bad contracts for picks while giving big minutes to players who aren't currently good counts as intentionally building a team that will get another high lottery pick next season. Bringing in good players and having some young potential practicing or playing in the G is trying to win while developing talent.

He already brought in THJ, somebody that Cade has a relationship with who get get buckets. We’ll see who else he might bring in that’s a starter-quality vet. I guess my point is that we need a few good vets around our young guys to see who can have a significant role with this team going forward before we trade them
Let me just say that Ron Holland can dribble with his off hand better than Killian Hayes 😂. He can straight line drive with force to the left almost as hard as to the right.

Grimes would have to get paid. I dont think Trajan wanted to pay him, so he got moved. We'll have to wait and see if that decision was right or wrong. We went from develope guys like Ivey and Duren. Who has showed he may be a 4 who can shoot like bam. No one is coming here until we put the players in place. 4 years of no prospect development or empowerment. We need to change that. You also don't need everyone to shoot 3's. The game we won we were physical in the paint and attacking. And no one was going to trade up to 5 in this draft. The pick swaps happened later on. And Dalton at 5 then?? Free agency at this point will be used for us to get picks. Like weaver should have done. This rebuild is now at phase 1 again. They got better defensively and we have 2 wings. We have to be patient and see what our guys can do and how we can help them. Included in cuts and post plays for Ausar. Also Ivey and Duren have a hell of a connection with P&Rs. Ivey can play with Cade he was hitting 3s befote Monty. Killed his production for Killian hayes. Stew also needs a dribble. Teams allow him to shoot that three and when they press up on him. He can't dribble. IT isn't a stretch he should take 2 to 3 threes only. No one guards him he is wide open. He also can't cover bigs or stretch 4s or even small ball 3s. Yet no one mentions how he is undersized and it hurts. His reb is down and Duren is reb vs 2 guys. This is a team game and we need to develop our pieces. Even Cade what is Cade good at offensively?? Its a show ya skills year for Cade. His mid is elite its all about the fouls he doesn't get. He needs to put guys on his back like luka and like how he did for team USA.
I'm not sure where to begin. Duren isn't a stretch center let alone a PF. Stew is a better defender than Durrn against bugs and also defends forwards well.
Cade is an elite three level scorer. His passing is good also.
Ivey is best on ball same as Cade. Many teams and coaches use two such starters. But not Monty.
Duren is in no way a 4 at this point. That just plays to all his weaknesses even more. How on earth do you collect picks in free agency? So much nonsense.

Ku ,you keep lifting Cade up. I like Cade too and I think he will be a very good player. I can't say great yet. But let me ask you this question. If you think Cade is the man and with him being a point guard. Why the hell hasn't he helped make the other players around him better? That's what great players do. Make others around them better. By most metrics, he had a good rookie campaign, then Monty came in and played sorry ass Killian over him. Yanked his chain when he felt like it. How can you make Killian Hayes and Stewart better?? That's on them having no offense at all. The teams trash that isn't on Cade. But him and Ivey need to start alongside each other. No more vets getting in the way of our actual prospect development hopefully.

It makes sense why you're saying Cade, Ausar, and Holland are the guys but does that frontcourt lineup really make sense? It's still a major projection to have Ausar playing the two. Holland can probably give minutes at the four but there's no way you want him playing the majority of his minutes there. It could be that Trajon is anticipating drafting a PF at five next season, which is a must better draft.
Also I totally disagree with the idea that the way to build a team is to cater to the egos of a bunch of lazy, immature, mediocre players who never earned their positions on the team.

Trajan is not trading anyone of Detroit's top players anytime soon. Pistons fans are completely scarred by the past few years from all the losing...Trajan isn't....trading the core is something a desperate Troy was going to do hoping to save his job however hes gone and with him goes the quick fix.
Everyone needs to take a deep breath, realize Trajan hired Fred Vinson to do a JOB (fix shooting) Hes worked miracles with several wing non-shooters like Lonzo, Herb Jones, Naji Marshall, ect. immediately.... so why would Trajan start trading guys right after hiring the shot Dr?......that makes no sense.

Ku a Ivey hater, Ivey is perfectly fine to play alongside Cade not a 1st year holland who shoots 24% from 3, Ausar shoots 16% from 3 and with horrid splits like that from ft and 3 he can’t play with another non shooting C (which happens to be 98% of centers in the league) without drastic improvement he can’t play big minutes

We didn’t get any compensation, Wallace just was a freak of nature and we built a team around Defense.
Pistons are building a young running team that’s how you develop your young guys let them get out and run I think we should trade Cade he’s to slow he like to run half court offense but the team is to young for that plus Cade has the high value and it doesn’t look like where building around Cade at all but building around Ivey

@scottwickett1273 I disagree. Suns will likely want to gather young players and picks. Durant, Booker and Beal will not get it done. They should be looking to rebuild knowing this. With no depth, no one sees them as serious contenders. Get what picks you can for Durant. Detroit can offer Ivey, Ausar, and Duren with picks for Booker. The Suns would love to get 3 young players and picks for Booker. You're telling me Phoenix wouldn't be attracted to that?
