Thanks for joining me on my frugal journey! One thing I forgot to add is use the grocery rewards points to lower your price at the gas pump. Got any tips for cutting monthly expenses or favorite ways to save? Drop them in the comments-I’d love to hear your ideas!
Thank you very much, Del, for sharing this... I can definitely resonate a lot of points you mentioned.. One biggest is having no kids (not by choice) but I guess the Divine One up there knew that this would benefit me and my husband. One thing I can also share (if I may) is to not buy so much new clothes.. It amazes me all the time how other people will actually shop for new clothes when seasons change.. I can honestly say that my husband & I have a lot of clothes that we've had for years (and a decade too!) already.. And we still wear them except those that had "shrunk" already.. **wink wink** Anyway, watching your video actually made me sit back & think of other possible ways & means to live a simple and "frugalistic" life.. So thank you again for sharing.. I'm looking forward to more videos on simple living..❤
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! It means a lot to hear that my video resonated with you. I completely agree about the clothes-it's amazing how much we can save by sticking with what we have instead of shopping every season. It sounds like you and your husband have really embraced a sustainable approach! I’m so glad this video inspired you to reflect on more ways to live simply, and I’m definitely planning to share more on this topic soon. Thanks again for watching, and for your wonderful insights! ❤️
I wonder a bit about the pest control but this may be because of the region or kind of house. In my region houses are build of brick and mortar, even my garage is made this way. So there is only the roof construction which could be affected by bark beetles. We also have some mice running around because I have haselnut trees on my property but I have some traps around so they never get a bigger problem. I do all home maintenance myself and most of my neighbours do as well. It is only the elderly employing someone mowing the lawn. I also grow some vegetables and fruits in my garden, however a garden needs always some investment and what I can save by growing them does not make a big benefit from the garden. But I think one must see it different. Studies show that working in the garden, growing vegetables and so on is quite as good for ones health as doing yoga. You get fresh air, need to use your muscles and get a lot of sunlight.
The pest control service price is definitely redic IMHO. The neighborhood used to be a farmland/forrest type. When we first moved in about 5 years ago, there were quite a few pests ranging from beetles, giant ants, house spiders, garden spiders, and a few I don't know the name of. Also, wasps started nesting way above the house (I can't reach, smart wasps). It's annoying how expensive the pest control service is and the work to remove hives are also an extra charge. I sprayed the wasps nests with a dawn-soap solution one time and that worked, but only if I can reach the hive. The wasps are not the harmful types, so I just leave 'em alone for now. I wish sometimes that I settled for a 1-level home instead of two. BTW, we now have a mole that regularly visits once in a while. I share the same opinion about the therapeutic nature of gardening. I used to value doing the work when I was working from home at one point because it would take my mind away from work. Thanks for watching and sharing.
Hey @cruzerbager3242! Thanks for checking out the video and for your question. My family is totally supportive of me going the frugal route while I'm searching for new opportunities. They understand that it's just a smart move right now. As for friends, a few are a bit worried I might be turning into a NEET, but most are actually interested and want to learn some frugal tips themselves. I believe one of them is starting to value time and how precious life is because he's also taking some time off work. As far as how long this will last, time will tell. Rhetorical, but: Am I being a bad or good influence on that person? In my naive perspective, I'd like to believe I am. Appreciate you reaching out!

Frugal?
What does your family think about this choice you are making? Are other closer friends wondering if you are turning into a N.E.E.T?
