I didn't need shims on the bottom of my cabinet system install since I used leg levelers inside the cabinets which made leveling a breeze. . How ever I did need them on the back side of the cabinets since the walls weren't perfectly plumb. The laser level was the key to the entire process. Made leveling super quick and much more accurate than you can get with a level across a system of cabinets!
