  • Learn how to make these super simple and quick crocheted Christmas ornaments! Just four rounds, these work up quick and would look great in any number of colors. Make one or a hundred and one! Free pattern and instructions below...
Inspired by ornaments made by Crochet with Raymond (crochethealingandraymond.word...)
The yarns I used (available at Michael's #notsponsored):
Loops and Threads Impeccable Claret #01532
Loops and Threads Impeccable Forest #01243
Loops and Threads Impeccable Heather #01010
Crochet hook size H, 5.0mm or UK size 6 (although size doesn't need to be exact).
Rnd 1: With color A: using the magic loop method, work 10hdc in the loop (using the first ch2 as the first hdc). Join in the top ch of the beginning ch2. Fasten off. (10 stitches)
Rnd 2: With color B: working between the stitches of the previous rnd, join yarn, ch2 (counts as first hdc) and work 2hdc (V-stitch) in between each stitch of the previous rnd. Join in the top ch of the beginning ch2. Fasten off. (20 stitches)
Rnd 3: With color C: again, working between stitches, join yarn in between two V-stitches of the previous rnd, ch2 (counts as first hdc), 2hdc in the V-stitch of the previous rnd and continue around. Join in the top of beginning ch2. Fasten off. (30 stitches)
Rnd 4: With color A: working in the top of the stitches of the previous rnd, join yarn in the first stitch of a V-stitch of the previous rnd. Ch1 and sc in the same space. Sc in next stitch, long hdc over single hdc of previous rnd (inserting hook into the space the stitch you're working over was worked). Continue working around putting 1 sc in each of the hdc's of the V-stitches of previous rnd and a long-hdc over the single stitches. Join in top of 1st sc and fasten off.
    Make two.
To join pieces, put each back to back. Join yarn and sc together around. To make a hanging loop, pull your working yarn long, wrap hook behind the forward yarn and catch yarn behind (being sure to catch both pieces) and pull through. Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on the hook. Join, fasten off and weave in end.

Susan, these will be perfect for your beautiful log cabin home, these colors are so earthy and gorgeous on your tree! I agree with the sound of his voice, his tutorials are so quick and easy, yet so doable :) Merry Christmas! 🎄 p.s. I am looking for some quick and easy ornaments to add to my Christmas cards that are flat and won’t take up too much space ;) 💗🎄💗

Oh if you like soothing voiced tutorials, lol, try out iknitwithcatfur... her voice is soooooo soothing, I knit and crochet, so I knit while I watch her videos, you could crochet while you watch... some of her earlier ones are when she is outside and you can hear birds chirping, some times she is inside and you can hear the dryer going which is soothing and her sweet little child cooing, lolllll ... 🤗💗🤗

I've never watched her, but I'll definitely look for her. I prefer tutorials I can work along with. I live alone so it's almost like I have company. its nice when it's not so sterile, and dead silent. I watch alot of card making tutorials and I really enjoy it when you can here the dog snoring beneath, or the cat keeps trying to steel things off the table.

This is a very nice crocheted ornament...I start all my circular centers with the Magic Circle, I have started doing this since I was 10 years old, I am now in my 70s. I always called it "closing up the center", lo and behold, it now is a magic
circle. I only wrapped the yarn one time around my finger and just pulled the yarn through, that seemed to work for me. I will try it your way, thanks so much for
sharing, I enjoy your videos, all the best, Michelle

I loved this pattern. Went right out today and bought the yarn to match yours. I lucked out and it was on sale, buy two get one free! The ease and simplicity of the pattern is just fantastic. Instead of leaving long tails on the ends I opted to go into my scrap basket and use scraps of yarn that wouldn't be enough to make anything with and used it for my stuffing. I don't know if you are anything like me but I can't stand to throw away even the littlest scrap. So this made me feel that I finally found a useful solution for them. Thanks for this great Christmas idea.

I totally ruined the magic circle (like always) but just worked a nice four chains and a slip stich to replace it... Now ten minutes later I have a wonderful christmas tree ornament and thanks to YOU, I am very proud of it! A hundred more to go so I can offer them to everyone around. The loose ends stuffing is a really, really useful trick. Thank you so much from Paris, France!

I cannot tell you how long i have struggled to crochet round ball ornaments. All those increases and decreases and cursing. Why did i never think to make two flat ones and join them together like this? Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. I'm watching this on Dec 28th as i always look for next years ideas while i'm still in the holiday spirit 🙂 i believe these are definitely going to make the list of things i'll be making next year. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
