michael martinez next video will be plumbing along with the tank being filled (: Next video in line will be my review on the new series Nuvo skimmer from innovative marine
thanks! I really wanted to do that too! decided im just going to search for a magnet branch that some people on ig sell :) (forgetting the companies atm lol)
It's a good call for a magnet, but I was thinking a branching rock from the back wall to around 6 inch from front glass, positioned about 10 inch from water line. Ideally a thinner version of a Tonga if it exists lol :). Keep the vids coming man :)
@@ASBsweet You could try casting branches in 100% solids epoxy. You can even add sand into the mix to give it body, and cut down on the amount of epoxy used. Once it's all cured, you can brush the finished product with a thin layer of 100% solids epoxy again, and just broadcast dry sand into the wet epoxy. That'll give you a nice rough surface, allowing corals to easily attach. Also, in the original cast (or even attach it after), you can encapsulate the magnet into the end of the branch. Even further, if you get some of those 5-6" diameter pieces of 36 grit sandpaper, you can cast "pads" to attach to the ends of your tonga. Offering a larger surface area/shelf/platform to add multiple SPS colonies.
Turned out so nice! I used AF stone fix. Took a while to figure out consistency but wound up working pretty well. I fragged the torch like I sold Alex. Should be ready soon. Hit me up next time your in SLO. Phil
@@drewslagoon Give me a couple more weeks. I just like to make sure everything is healthy after cutting. If your on FB message me so I can give you my number and address. Phillip Tennell
What do you guys think of the aquascape? I know it may look odd now, but it will soon be filled with coral & will look absolutely beautiful (: (My lagoon didn't look pretty as a bare scape either) loll
Super dope, man! Tonga branch is wayyy underrated. Too many people focus on the aesthetics of rock scape, rather than focusing on the resulting coral scape. Ultimately, you shouldn't see any rock. You have amazing foresight. Mixed reef is easily attainable with this build. You'll have the right conditions to grow whatever you want. Can't wait to see this tank, mature. #TankGoals
@@jlydon29 it really is! exactly my friend, thats the way i see it too. let the coral become the scape and let the rocks play a part of holding those corals and allowing more room for swim through/flow. thanks my dude i really do plan on putting all sorts of variety in here. just yesterday i placed a frag of gsp on the sand bed since the tank is now officially cycled. update soon!:)
@@urielmesenja1040 had an issue with my plumbing , lifes been busy my apologies. i will get it out within a week, hopefully before i leave to aquashella texas. appreciate you checking in :)
@@jlydon29 i agree 100% thats the goal not seeing the rockwork eventually! great minds think alike :D APOLOGIES FOR NOT SEEING YOUR COMMENT SOONER! lol
Your use of Tonga gives 3d depth I havent seen before. Because of you I am now joining the hobby. Eat Sleep Reef EPIC TANK video is insane of your nano tank. Alice in Wonderland looking. I just bought the Fusion Pro2 25g Lagoon. Do you like the expensive stands IM offers? Thanks!
Thanks man!(: Check out “prolific breed” on UA-cam, he has an ikea style that costs significantly less than the IM model stands… those are like 300-400$ yikes!! ua-cam.com/video/LBaoErKd5aM/v-deo.html Here’s the video to his stand build thanks again!!🤘🏻
@@drewslagoon Thanks so much for the stand help! I grabbed the 2 door ikea. Where can I find tonga dry coral for the 25g lagoon? Is your nano still going?
@@drewslagoon Nice :) I hope to get a tang this year in an 80g. Do you think a tomini tang would be fine in it with good rock cover and open swimming space?
I've been looking into what it takes to build a saltwater tank, super glad I stumbled on this channel!
This is reef keeping level Expert. Start slowly! Research everything. Patience is the best virtue of a reef keeper.
Looks pretty cool and simple but with a lot of forward thinking into it - form and function. Looking forward to the next update!
a lot of people overlook our scapes, i feel as if they're the heart of the reef :]
Love the video Drew! Can’t wait for the next one. The scape is dope. Thanks for sharing!
im glad you appreciate it !:]
